Why does Taylor Swift fall out with everyone?

I've never known anyone so famous for ditching people and then writing songs about them. Why is she so popular? She seems utterly toxic to me.

I'd take most of what you read with a very generous pinch of salt.
My friend had to put up the media writing about her for years (good and bad), and I would say 70% of it was total fiction and 20% was heavily embellished and somewhat based on reality.

Incidentally, she is not 'young.' She's in her mid thirties!! I am 37 in a few weeks, she's a year younger than me. Much as I'd like that to be young, and in my head I feel only about 27, it's not actually young at all, is it?

How is she 'exploitative of her fans'? Because she releases different versions of the same album? Nobody is making her fans buy them, they choose to.

I was interested to hear recently that Dolly Parton has always refused to discuss politics - if she's asked, she says "Oh, you know I don't talk about that stuff". In this way she keeps all of her fans happy. She's not daft, is she?! Maybe it's what TS is doing now. I would find it hard not to speak out if I had her platform. But shrewd business people don't alienate their customers.

I think she’s talented but aside from a couple of absolute bangers, most of her other songs just merge together into one (for me). That said, her style of music isn’t really my cup of tea.

Bottom line, none of us know her, and “Taylor Swift” the marketable personality / commodity is probably different to Taylor Swift, the actual person.

I know a couple of people who’ve met her and they said she was lovely.

Her fiance also famously knelt with Colin Kaepernick during the Black Lives Matter movement and his brother & his wife (who has a successful podcast in her own right) have both spoken about being Democrats, and in Kylie's case been quite clearly anti-Trump.

Taylor is definitely less outspokenly political these days than she used to be - and that's a fairly low bar, considering she did basic 'go vote for this Dem candidate' stuff. But just because she happens to have a partner whose teammate's girlfriend is a Trump supporter and therefore she attends events with her does not a MAGA princess make.

Who has she supposedly fallen out with now? Her latest album includes a track specifically about the point that she's NOT going to fall out with people just because other people don't like them. An awful lot of shit is written about her (and other celebs, especially women) and most of it is bollocks. For all her song writing etc, she's surprisingly good at keeping the day to day of her private life exactly that - private.

I have nothing but admiration for Taylor Swift. At a cynical level, i think that she's a classic example of a woman with lots of advantages from the start who has leveraged those. I think her music is catchy but not incredible. But that doesn't change the fact that she has become incredibly successful, appears to have stayed very true to herself and her family and is well known for treating the people around her well. She's intelligent, surprisingly funny and clearly an astonishingly good business woman. I love that DD loves her - I want her to aspire to funny, smart, successful women.

Kelce is not MAGA. Taylor has spoken out against Trump and there’s a whole video online where she is discussing going public with her views with her family. Quite honestly she can write about what and who she likes. Its not a new phenomenon….

she is strongly and closely associated with multiple MAGA cult members. She is a multi billionaire which is an inherently unethical thing to be. She exploits her fans and uses marketing to take on other women in the industry because she’s obsessed with being the biggest and best thing.

I'm generally pretty indifferent to her but this makes me warm to her a bit. Not because I'm a Trump fan but I'm sick of living in a world where adults behave like children and are incapable of tolerating anyone with a different view. People that vote for Trump are not Trump, they are simply choosing between two options, both of which require compromise for most people.

Well, judging by some of these posts, she’s definitely right about one thing: haters really are gonna hate, hate, hate…

She has ex-boyfriends and has mentioned them in her songs. She seems on pretty good terms with Harry Styles. No-one’s on great terms with all their exes. I believe she tried to keep out of politics until Trump told everyone she was a supporter so she felt she needed to say no, actually, she wasn’t - which is why she was booed by the MAGA lot at that football game.

Theresa difference between spending some time with someone and repeatedly appearing with them, knowing those pictures will be everywhere.
