To ask how much you think I weigh?

I’m genuinely just curious. My hairdresser said she thought I’m a good 2-3 stone lighter than I actually am, so it got me thinking!

Around 85kg?

SepticPegsSepticLeg · 12/10/2025 18:57

Ooh, at least 35 stone 🙄

You don't have to be muscular to have visible ribs and collar bone at a relatively high BMI, just big-framed. I've got them at BMI 25. My wrists, which have no fat on them, are nearly 6 inches around.

Agree with this. I'm a combination of:

  • tall
  • overweight
  • lots of muscles
  • huge boobs
  • big frame

So I'm a giant, but my waist (if you can see it behind my boobs ) is relatively tiny compared to my hips.

My wrists are 9", and my shoulders 19" - the average woman has 14-17" shoulders I believe. I've taken to wearing men's jackets and tops because then I have the shoulder space and body length I need.

That still means your rib bones (very well padded on most adults) are somehow pushing through all that extra muscle and boobage- sounds even less likely you’d have ribs sticking out tbh?!

SerafinasGoose · 12/10/2025 19:13

Well done on losing so much weight. You must feel so much better.

Pomegranatecarnage · 12/10/2025 19:17

I’d guess around 14 -15 stone based on the photo and your height.

Where do you imagine the poster's boobs are attached to her chest? If your ribs stick out, that's lower down on your chest than where your boobs are attached!

Well obviously. But she’s extremely muscular with huge boobs, which means she has lots of fat in her breasts. Loads of fat.. loads of muscle, and a visage rib cage ala Nicole Richie in 2005. Only on mumsnet!

EllaPaella · 12/10/2025 19:21

You can’t really ask your hairdresser to guess your weight and expect an honest reply.. what a question to ask someone! They’re always going to worry about offending and say what they think you want to hear.

Goldbar31 · 12/10/2025 19:22

Congratulations on your weight loss.
10 stone is incredible.

I truly don't. I think it's some form of body dysmorphia

Is there a thing where we see ourselves as the weight we were at a certain age? I will always be a size 8 in my head even though I am now a size 12 and classed as obese (short-arse) 😂

I've lost 6 stone. I honestly still see the same person staring back at me despite everyone saying how different I look

HauntedHero · 12/10/2025 19:37

I think it's really dependent on how you store fat. As an adult I've been between 8st 7 and just under 11 stone but I'm only a dress size difference between those two weights. At my heaviest, I was a size 10 and most people couldn't believe I could lose 2 stone. Even at 8.5 stone I don't look gaunt, slim yes, but not a look that would concern anyone. I seem to put on weight as a smooth layer all over, so I'm the same shape at both weights.

ChampagneLassie · 12/10/2025 19:39

13.5st

Flamingoqueenofchaos · 12/10/2025 19:39

13 or 14 stone

Pigriver · 12/10/2025 19:42

I'm about 158cm and at my heaviest weighed 13.5 stone and I looked smaller so 15 stone plus is about right.
I lost 3 stone and I honestly didn't notice a difference until I hit about 11 stone. It took me a long time to realise I was slimmer.

BlackeyedSusan · 12/10/2025 19:43

12 stone. (Not yet read thread)

Hysterectomynext · 12/10/2025 19:47

13.5 stones
but why would you do this to yourself?

Vivisays · 13/10/2025 23:45

14.5 stone

brunettemic · 14/10/2025 08:54

Your hairdresser, who you pay pretty well I imagine, is hardly going to make you feel bad about yourself are they!

Bundleflower · 14/10/2025 09:02

ThatLadyLady · 12/10/2025 10:06

I’m 15 stone 8!!!

really shocked by all the low guesses, but I’m guessing I carry it quite well!

I’d have guessed 14.5 stone. You carry it well!

Lurleenlumpkin79 · 15/10/2025 10:17

Its all relative to height anyway. Some of these posts are pointless. Without knowing someone's height to weight you can't possibly say. Someone at 5"2 could be obese weighing the same as a 5"8 healthy weight woman.
