To ask how much you think I weigh?

I’m genuinely just curious. My hairdresser said she thought I’m a good 2-3 stone lighter than I actually am, so it got me thinking!

14st 7 roughly

MMmomDD · 12/10/2025 12:04

Why are you asking?
Because you want to believe what the hairdresser said? And wonder if this is what others see?
Hairdressers are in a service industry. They want you to keep coming back. So - take whatever they say about you with that in mind.

At 162cm - you look about size 14-16 here. Depending on fat/muscle composition tje weight can be +- several kgs —— so i’ll be guessing 80-90kg?

They are! Why would they be of anyone else?

im genuinely curious because ive lost a huge amount of weight and i cannot look at my body objectively. I really struggle with it.

Can you really not think of a reason a spiteful man or woman might post a photo of someone else on a public forum, and invite comment on their weight?

I'm not saying this is what you've done, but I always feel uncomfortable at the possibility when these threads appear.

hollystar500 · 12/10/2025 12:09

16 stone?

Slightyamusedandsilly · 12/10/2025 12:10

14ish stone?

MorningFresh · 12/10/2025 12:11

I don't want to guess. But those jeans don't flatter you at all. Sorry.

Lurkinginthefens · 12/10/2025 12:13

@Twodogsonthecouch ,I've just lost over 4 stone and for a while I carried on wearing the same size and style of clothes, once I ditched those and caught up in my head how I look, I bought clothes that fit properly and it made a huge difference. I don't think I looked much different to the op at 12 st 7, but I was wearing baggy unflattering tunics and loose waisted jeans, at 8 st I now wear fitted jeans, and a slim fitting t shirt, I look hugely different depending on whether my clothes fit.

Firawla · 12/10/2025 12:15

I saw your answer already but I was thinking between 90-100 kilo so pretty much exactly correct

well done on the weight loss, and good luck with it!

ThePoshUns · 12/10/2025 12:16

15 stone

Owly11 · 12/10/2025 12:18

Namechange2567 · 12/10/2025 12:20

I think you’re correct. I have big boobs so hate wearing fitted clothes but would probably be much more flattering

Titasaducksarse · 12/10/2025 12:24

You're 5ft 3...I'd say about 14.5 stone

I think about half or more people got it right, so I’d say you look your weight, most people do, same as most people look their age, give or take 5 years. Obvs some outliers but in the main thays the way it is. The way we dress can also decieve, making us look bigger or smaller, just as hair, make up, weight etc can make us look a bit younger or older.

the image of you side on, is the teller, in the front on pic it’s harder as your clothes are poorly fitting and your shape not visible.

also take into account most people have no idea what others weigh, we don’t go around asking how much people weigh, so we can only compare it to ourselves, and many people cannot see themselves realistically, thinking they look bigger or smaller than everyone else thinks they look. I did it myself, couldn’t understand why I looked so big in the ring doorbell for example.

Brooklyn70 · 12/10/2025 12:33

80kg (12.6 stone)

PeachySmile2 · 12/10/2025 12:34

15-16 stone.

Viviennemary · 12/10/2025 12:38

About 14 stone maybe a bit less.

BeLilacSloth · 12/10/2025 12:55

Around 16 stone

It’s a number on a scale. Who cares!!!

OP does. She literally started a thread about it because she cares.

Responses like this are so weird.

BrendaSmall · 12/10/2025 12:59

You look around the same size as me 20/22, so guessing 15/16 st, 100kgs

QuickNameChange22 · 12/10/2025 13:00

Now I know your height, maybe 13st? You're a very similar shape to me, only I'm taller.

Edit now I see you've answered, I was definitely miles off!!

ThatLadyLady · 12/10/2025 10:18

I have! I’m quite young, as other posters have guessed, and still working at it! I’d like to settle at about a size 12. The nhs says I should be between 7 1/2 and 9 1/2 but that feels unrealistic at the moment!

As someone who’s slightly shorter than you and weighs 10st with visible ribs, I think the NHS scale is ridiculous. You and I would look bloody awful at 7.5st and really anything below 9st.

Linenpickle · 12/10/2025 13:08

Op - are you happy and healthy, as that is what really matters.

I agree with this. I'm 5 foot 2 and have been everything from 8 stone 4 to my now 13 stone as an adult. At 8 stone 4 I had concerned friends and family gently asking me if I were anorexic and implore me not to lose any more weight. (I had gone down from 11 stone). I remember once walking along in a shopping centre and seeing a woman in shorts walking towards me. I was staring at her legs in utter shock thinking 'That woman really needs to eat something' when I nearly smacked into a mirror. Because I did not know it was me, I was seeing my legs honestly, not through a body dysmorphia lens like I usually do.

My 'comfortable' weight is about 10 stone 10. That's a weight I don't have to fight every day to maintain once I am there. 10 stone 7 is when people start telling me I am looking too slim. I have a very large frame- stocky like a shetland pony really- what people used to call ;big bones'. That may have something to do with it.

Huh? It is ridiculous as you don’t understand it. The healthy range for 162cm female is 8 stone to 10 stone 4. why there is a huge corridor, people come from different ethnic groups, and for some ethnicities 8 stone would be the fine. For others 10 stone 4 would be fine. What exactly is ridiculous about that corridor please>
