Yep had mine on twice, I hate being cold. Even under blankets and dressing gowns i can feel the cold in the air and I refuse to sit in the cold!

I'm the same. It doesn't matter how many blankets I'm under if the air is cold I'm cold.

Tunacheesequesadilla · 14/09/2025 19:15

Yes. My husband's employer pays for our heating and they're being bastards to him so I don't feel bad for turning the heating on.

cc99xo · 14/09/2025 19:17

I’ve had my heating on today. I probably could just stick on more layers but I’m more comfortable in minimal clothing round the house (Ie leggings and vest top etc) so the heating will definitely be on from now on! :)

hattie43 · 14/09/2025 19:18

Flicked it on for the first time this morning . I’m in the south and it was rainy and miserable .

I don't think there is a month where I don't have the heating on. (Scotland)

Same here! Mine currently 23c. It's freezing 🥶

Addictforanex · 14/09/2025 19:23

Mine’s on a thermostat set to same temps all year round. Each room is individually set and in the last few days a couple of radiators have come on in the morning and my living room one is on now. Temp has definitely dropped since about mid week here.

Dobbyismyabsolutefav · 14/09/2025 19:24

I've dug out a heated blanket this evening. Although I think I'm coming down with a cold so that hasn't helped.

Whatwouldnanado · 14/09/2025 17:06

Yup. Throws and fluffy socks on the go. And crumble for tea. Ready to hibernate.

I want crumble now.

WhineAndWine1 · 14/09/2025 19:38

@BeeDavisPersonally i am £300 in credit to my energy company so I couldn’t care less if my bills are a bit higher because I out the heating on in September. Like I said I am not sitting in my house under 20 jumpers and a dressing gown when I can afford to put the heating on.

BlurryEyesAndChubbyThighs · 14/09/2025 19:39

No I nearly did but by time I cooked dinner the house was so hot I've now got all the windows open.

Focusispower · 14/09/2025 19:41

I did here for an hour - was showing at 17 degrees in the house but also it has been pouring all day and I wanted to avoid the house being damp. We set our thermostat at 19 so never a boiling house - I prefer to be on the cooler side.

Agrumpyknitter · 14/09/2025 20:01

We popped ours on for a bit. I usually run hot but can’t stand to be cold.

We're in Scotland too, not turned ours on properly since around April. We've had such a warm summer here, compared to last few years.
We do run the dehumidifier if we want to dry washing and avoid damp, but 90% of the time I've been able to dry laundry outside (slurry days have been as common as rainy days).

PollieDarton · 14/09/2025 20:08

I have a condition that makes it difficult to regulate my body temperature and yes I actually put the heating on this morning. I’m unashamed. And I’d do it again too! 😃🥶

Of course you shouldn't feel bad about that!

GroovyChick87 · 14/09/2025 20:12

Not yet but electric blanket is on the bed and I've been wearing warmer tops.

AquaFurball · 14/09/2025 20:13

Mine is set to come on when indoors temperature hits 15.5°C. It turned itself on this afternoon. It is cold today in this part of Scotland. I normally make it to October without heating.

FiveBarGate · 14/09/2025 20:16

GleisZwei · 14/09/2025 16:55

It's not remotely cold here (North of Scotland).

Edited

@GleisZwei I was going to say the same. Still too hot at night for me

I keep having to put my fan on still, i'm seriously worried i'm peri at 35.

I had the fan on today too @AlmostAJillSandwich

I'm not 35 and definitely post menopause but the hot flashes do not stop.

What will you do when its really cold?!

On these threads usually someone will declare they are still in shorts and t shirt and why dont you just put a jumper on etc. But if Im cold it’s always my nose that feels it first and a jumper wont solve that. Having said that we haven’t put the heating on yet.

Yes - the nose! How does one get around that?! One winter when the heating had broken, I actually bought a little knitted nose cover you tie sound the back of your head! 😅

Gladysknightgottogetaholdofmyself · 14/09/2025 20:42

No Ne Scotland, our thermostat showing 23.we are lucky our flat is warm and energy is about 70 a month.

Actually, a jumper will solve it. Tour nose is cold because your body is using energy to keep your core and your organs warm and withdrawing circulation a bit from the extremities. Ergo, put a jumper (and a hat) on and your nose will warm up.
