Yes, put it on this afternoon, just in one room. We bought the place in June so partly wanted to make sure it works as the boiler is 19 years old! Nice and toasty :)

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/09/2025 17:04

We had ours on for a bit last night - NE Scotland.

shellyleppard · 14/09/2025 17:04

Yep mine is on today..... trying to get the washing dry 😂

Tumbleweed101 · 14/09/2025 17:04

No, but after the hot summer here I have finally got out my warmer clothing as think I will be starting to need it. Was tempted earlier until I got up to do some jobs.

SepticPegsSepticLeg · 14/09/2025 17:05

East mids. We "tested" our for half an hour this afternoon 😂😁. Bit fed up of being cold already

Whatwouldnanado · 14/09/2025 17:06

Yup. Throws and fluffy socks on the go. And crumble for tea. Ready to hibernate.

RedRiverShore5 · 14/09/2025 17:07

I have just put it on for the evening

orangegato · 14/09/2025 17:07

Yes because life is too short to freeze my tits off.

MeatsAndCheesesAlwaysPleases · 14/09/2025 17:07

Yep it’s on here, 25 degrees because anything lower just doesn’t heat the house and seems pointless.
My home is old, with high ceilings though so you can really feel the chill especially at night/in the morning. I’m not fighting it, I refuse to be cold in my own home.

(Plus I am chronically ill so being cold exacerbates my conditions.)

ElinorDashwood68 · 14/09/2025 17:02

Yes, since Friday. Central Scotland

I can't believe how cold it has gotten,

WhineAndWine1 · 14/09/2025 17:09

Yes It’s on here. It’s showing 17.5 and I have put it up to 20 I refuse to be cold or look like the Michelin Man in my own home.

GleisZwei · 14/09/2025 16:55

It's not remotely cold here (North of Scotland).

Edited

Just to clarify, it'll go on if needed and I'm not a competitive underheater by any means, it's just not cold here, and we're all fairly mobile/active. It's odd that one of the places furthest north appears to be less cold!

BishBoshBashBish · 14/09/2025 17:10

Yes, two days running. It was down to 8 degrees here overnight and ‘feels like’ 8 degrees right now.

Chipsahoy · 14/09/2025 17:10

Mine has kicked in every morning for a week. Scotland. It’s chilly in the mornings but lovely and sunny in the day.

user1497787065 · 14/09/2025 17:10

No, but I did close some windows today for the first time since March.

Idontknowhatnametochoose · 14/09/2025 17:10

No I always hold out until October.

ProudMummyxo · 14/09/2025 17:10

Yea cos gotta keep my baby warm 🙂 his bedroom can be like an igloo sometimes

Lallybroch · 14/09/2025 17:11

We haven't had ours on yet but have come away for the weekend and the cottage heating has been on automatically and I must admit it is very pleasant.

thesnailandthewhale · 14/09/2025 17:11

No, but I am right down in the South. Patio doors still wide open and a window open in every room, I hate rooms being stuffy. I did make a shepherds pie for tea earlier though :)

It’s cold in my corner of NE but does get gloriously sunny in the day. I’ve needed it each morning and evening for a week or so though. We are very rural, high up and also old farmhouse. My brother 30mins away in town in a new build is probably still wearing shorts.

Romeiswheretheheartis · 14/09/2025 17:14

No, but dd is complaining and has put her oodie on, so think it won't be long before I have to.

u3ername · 14/09/2025 17:14

Yes. First time, and we turned it on pretty much the same time you’ve started this thread. :)

Wildywondrous · 14/09/2025 17:14

Nope, I've got a lovely heated throw on the sofa so I'm toasty, I'm not going to pay to heat the whole house until it's properly cold

OldMaaa · 14/09/2025 17:15

No. We live in a new(ish) build so it's plenty warm enough still.

Ramblingaway · 14/09/2025 17:15

Yep, mine has fired itself up. Probably hasn't helped that I've run extractor fans all day to get rid of the smell of gloss paint. Still feeling a bit high on the fumes, but I can't stand a satinwood finish so it's the price I've got to pay.
