To think that, under the threat of "Let the war begin", there should be specific laws against male's entering female private spaces (and vice versa)

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 08/08/2025 14:46

After being told they will not be allowed to enter female toilets, changing rooms, clubs and other private sexed spaces, men have vowed to "fight" or be arrested “multiple times

https://archive.ph/tdkd0

"Let the war begin. Fingers crossed. You need to fight for all of us globally. It’s a war."

I think it is reasonable to have a specific crime for this sort of violation of rights and privacy, rather than Outraging public decency, Voyeurism, Exposure/ indecent exposure.

It seems clear that without firm dealing with, men are going to violate these spaces again and again.

What else do you think I'm asking?

And what happened to your desire to invite men 'into the women club'? Are you giving up on that?

Oh I’m all for that. I’m saying I don’t actually have the right to do that. You asked what gave me the right to make decisions - obviously nothing. I’m a person on the internet

Inchworms · 11/08/2025 23:52

spannasaurus · 11/08/2025 23:50

Including prisons?

Yeah, including prisons. What’s different about prisons?

TheKeatingFive · 11/08/2025 23:52

Inchworms · 11/08/2025 23:48

That’s where we’re going to struggle is calling them men. But it can be men if you like. Back to basics, what would fundamentally be wrong with everything just being mixed sex

Because that would be immensely problematic for many women. I mean, we've been through all this. Haven't you been paying attention? You seemed to have plenty to say about it at the time.

Fundamentally you just want these women to put up and shut up, don't you?

So you've no idea what single sex spaces are used for. Yeah right, pull the other one it's got bells on.

NeverOneBiscuit · 11/08/2025 23:53

I agree that Tandora wouldn’t voluntarily say something like that on this thread. But they seem equally determined to have men in women’s spaces, so I reallly don’t know.

They’d probably say it’s an existential, ontological multidimensional axis on a
spectrum of deep complexity.

There's a woman in California, suing that state because he was sexually abused by a man who identified as a woman sharing her cell.

Is bringing that up 'weaponising trauma'? 🙄

Inchworms · 11/08/2025 23:46

Genuinely what’s with the ‘we’. I can start a thread, or you can. We can’t do it together.

I don’t particularly want to debate - I’m happy to talk about it though.

You want to talk at us because talking with us, is by definition, debating. Correct?

I don't believe you are saying this in good faith at this point anyway. Trust has gone after your comments about rape.

You know very little about human rights, the nature and intent of so many people here and you aren't prepared to view concerns as remotely legitimate.

So no there isn't anything to talk about. Start a thread if you want but honestly I don't have much to say to someone who stoops that low because I'm very aware the conversation isn't likely to leave the gutter.

No not at all.

Yeah, including prisons. What’s different about prisons?

You think it's OK for women to be housed in prison with rapists?

And prisons aren't different. Toilets, changing rooms, rape counselling groups amongst many other things are segregated by sex for good reason

CohensDiamondTeeth · 11/08/2025 23:55

Inchworms is trying to upset and wind us up I reckon.

FWIW Inchworms it doesn't work when people twig what your intentions are.

You don't see why prisons shouldn't be mixed sex is jumping the shark.

It’s certainly using an example to damn a whole, yes. Do you think men and women who are criminals would benefit or suffer overall from mixing?

Tandora is wise enough to avoid certain points of particular contention, changing the subject and ignoring questions I'll give you that.

So you are all for that, but not for the women who have been raped/abused by men who need single sex spaces away from them?

Nice 🙄

I very much agree. The bad faith is very apparent.

AstonUniversityPotholeDepartment · 11/08/2025 23:56

So basically, if anyone provides an example of women who would be negatively impacted by the removal of single-sex spaces, it will be weaponising trauma?

This seems like a way to suppress anyone who disagrees to me...

NeverOneBiscuit · 11/08/2025 23:57

‘Pull the other one it’s got bells on’

I think in this case it’s got balls on.

Inchworms · 11/08/2025 23:55

My mother was incarcerated. She told me women's prisons should be single sex, and it's bad enough using a slop bucket with a female cellmate, never mind a male cellmate.

TheKeatingFive · 11/08/2025 23:59

Inchworms · 11/08/2025 23:55

No, its about the principles of safeguarding.

Acknowledging women's rights to single sex spaces does not mean that every man is a predator. It means that, unfortunately, enough of them are to count as a risk. We cannot tell which is which, so we keep them all out?

So what would you say to this poor women who's been abused? Would you tell her about how important you felt it was to welcome this man 'into the women club'?

NeverOneBiscuit · 12/08/2025 00:02

Watch out Aston, you mustn’t use your mother’s experience to gain the upper hand!

What relevance does the real life experience of an actual woman have against Inchworms oh so convincing mansplaining? It’s just blokes, innit.

Inchworms · 12/08/2025 00:04

Ah, the ‘you’re a bloke’ call.

sadly I’m not a bloke. Women are like this too. We’re all different

AstonUniversityPotholeDepartment · 12/08/2025 00:05

If everything should be unisex, why isn't Inchworm asking transwomen why they care about accessing formerly female-only spaces? If everything should be mixed, why do they need to escape the men's only facilities? What's the issue with being with men? To coin a phrase, I'm at a loss on this one.

NeverOneBiscuit · 12/08/2025 00:05

5 posts left Inchworm. I know you’re not enjoying the engagement, but as you said, it shouldn’t be the person who suffers most who wins the argument.

Fight through your suffering, I’m sure there’s a nugget of gold in there.

RedToothBrush · 12/08/2025 00:06

Women are deserving of human rights: that's safeguarding, dignity and privacy.

Without being shamed to trying to enforce these rights.

AstonUniversityPotholeDepartment · 12/08/2025 00:07

Inchworms · 12/08/2025 00:04

Ah, the ‘you’re a bloke’ call.

Then let's have women's only, men's only and mixed sex facilities. Let everyone vote with their feet. No-one will stop people from using the unisex facilities if they choose, instead of using the single-sex facilities for their own sex.

If people want mixed sex facilities, they'll use them.
