To think that, under the threat of "Let the war begin", there should be specific laws against male's entering female private spaces (and vice versa)

SingleSexSpacesInSchools · 08/08/2025 14:46

After being told they will not be allowed to enter female toilets, changing rooms, clubs and other private sexed spaces, men have vowed to "fight" or be arrested “multiple times

https://archive.ph/tdkd0

"Let the war begin. Fingers crossed. You need to fight for all of us globally. It’s a war."

I think it is reasonable to have a specific crime for this sort of violation of rights and privacy, rather than Outraging public decency, Voyeurism, Exposure/ indecent exposure.

It seems clear that without firm dealing with, men are going to violate these spaces again and again.

Yes. Men acting in such an aggressive, entitled way is a very, well, Male trait.

storminabuttercup · 08/08/2025 15:41

not unreasonable at all, we all know those crimes you mention lead to even more serious ones

I actually think anyone posting they are ready to ‘fight’ are also inciting violence

Beowulfa · 08/08/2025 15:41

Sophie Molly, quoted in that article, was too embarrassingly bonkers to be considered as a candidate for the Scottish Greens. Of course women don't want to share toilets and changing rooms with aggressive unhinged men like this.

RoseAlone · 08/08/2025 15:43

Don't be ridiculous. Men are on a hiding to nothing these days because of people punting this rubbish.

ButtSurgery · 08/08/2025 15:45

I'm a big fat TERF.... But you can't write the law for all reasonable scenarios and expect it to be enforced by an underfunded and understaffed police force who can't be everywhere.

It would be hard to account in law for for things like cleaning, emergency services staff, helpers just helping with an emergency situation, repairs etc.

I think it's overkill.

There are a lot of laws, not enough police, 100%. But, we both think that sexed spaces should be kept single sex, what pressure needs to be applied to keep males out of female spaces, if they insist on transgressing these norms? Those crimes above could possibly be applied, but it is true to say there is no specific law, just wondered if we needed one given these threats

Yes you can no males except for 1st responders due to an emergenc, its literally that simple

JemimaTiggywinkles · 08/08/2025 15:51

The responsibility of policing single sex spaces lies with the person / company owning or running the premises. We don’t need a new law, we just need people in charge to accept the law as it is and to enforce it. If they don’t they’ll end up losing very expensive discrimination cases (just like NHS Fife are about to).

WallaceinAnderland · 08/08/2025 15:51

It's not hard.

We've managed for years with notices put up such as 'Workmen on premises', 'Male cleaner in facility', etc.

This informs women and gives them the choice on whether to use a female only facility whilst a male medic/cleaner/repairman is temporarily allowed access for a legitimate reason.

That is totally different to allowing all males to use female facilities whenever they like without telling women or allowing their consent.

I can’t find the quote referenced in its original and the link you posted is coming up as unsafe in my browser, does anyone have a link?

lifeturnsonadime · 08/08/2025 16:02

These men have been angry for years.

Have you seen the signs like 'decapitate Terfs' that some of them hold?

Men really don't like being told no.

VioletandDill · 08/08/2025 16:05

It would be a completely unenforcable law, that is without invasive medical tests/intrusive ID checks, and the collateral damage of masculine looking women being fired/harassed/hurt. (Yes, that last part is already happening) I would suggest to any trans women or masculine natal women reading this that you do not have to prove anything, and nobody can prove your biology without the aforementioned invasive/intrusive tests. If challenged you simply need to say 'I'm entitled to use this space' and use it. Easier said than done of course, and not to be done if it would put you in danger.

None of my trans friends are going to forced out of spaces that they've been using forever, while I'm around. I'll speak up for them and I'll go with them. Whether that's accompanying them to the women's, or if push really does come to shove, coming with them in to the men's. After all I'm one of those masculine looking women (bald, tall, muscular, wears 'men's' clothes) that have been bullied out of changing rooms and given dirty looks.

You can't force me to exclude my friends. I will not be knowingly using any spaces that do.

Men don’t belong in women’s spaces.

And no female cleaners in mens spaces too?

Or men to enter womens changing rooms to deal with an incident such as spillage, leaks, whatever? Or women to enter mens etc

No women allowed to work in mens clubs?

Male nurses and Drs working on women's wards in hospitals? How far do we proscribe in law?

It's about all single sex spaces, so it'll cut both ways and affect jobs and expectations in wider areas than is perhaps obvious.

Of course we know who men are without invasive checks.

Thelnebriati · 08/08/2025 16:23

OK then no men in women's spaces without a legitimate reason; and also mandate that women's facilities must be provided, not just organisations can provide them if they like.

Me are not permitted in female spaces it’s as simple as that

and you and your friends need to accept that the law clearly says biological sex counts so your friends need to use the men’s or third spaces not the female facilities, groups etc etc

i am sorry that you don’t understand that

lifeturnsonadime · 08/08/2025 16:27

I have zero respect for men who refuse to follow simple laws regardless of their gender identity. And even less for women who stand by and enable them.

The law is clear.

Women are entitled to single sex spaces for safety and dignity.

Decent men would comply with the law and understand that their internal gender feelings do not override the need for women to have single sex spaces.

DeLaRuiz · 08/08/2025 16:27

They are utterly graceless, utterly devoid of care toward real women. Abhorrent group of misogynists.

Don’t be ridiculous as others have said as long as it’s clearly stated so women (or men) get a choice

You already have signs saying men cleaning in women’s toilets so the same for mens

you can already ask for female nurses or doctors if you wish and many women myself included are happy normally to see male doctors (must admit I am in two
minds about male nurses in some in situations)

as to working in mens clubs etc that’s just a stupid comment

get a grip

This. Please could people stop enabling selfish, entitled men and give a thought to the needs of other women and girls.

Nigel Farage would probably say “the only way to get rid of woke nonsense is to go to war”, while thinking “with the useful by-product of immigrants dying”.

Tutorpuzzle · 08/08/2025 16:33

All these men seem to have so much time on their hands for waging war, find women’s toilets to enter illegally, and make hysterical statements.

The grown-ups have said no, get over it and find a proper job!

Well - that will be tricky for you then! Men identifying as women won't be allowed in women's spaces but are allowed in men's spaces. You mention being a woman, so it will be the opposite for you... Going to be tricky to find any single-sex spaces that allow both as the law already forbids it and has for 15+ years.

The reality is that the majority of people in the UK are law abiding. For some reason a small group of people not only decided to ignore the law some years ago, but spent a lot of time telling everyone that the law was somehow different. Fortunately the law has been clarified by the Supreme Court to be the simple biological basis that everyone really knew - and will be further confirmed by the EHRC in their guidance - but none of that has changed the law, the law has been the same for 15+ years.

I think that the scale of disinformation over the last 15 years was so great it was understandable that people were fooled into thinking that they were entitled to use any facilities as they wished - but there is now so much black and white clarity that there is no longer an excuse...

so any man wanting to use women's facilities (and let's be realistic that is the most likely scenario) will be clearly stating that they plan to break the law.

As well as breaking the law around single-sex spaces, they will now open themselves up to all the consequential implications - why are they in a single-sex space for the opposite sex:

  • safeguarding issues
  • sexual predator
  • ???

The consequences are likely to be quite serious. Some of those men may blag it / bluff and say that no-one will challenge them, but they have oppressed women so strongly over the last 15 years they should not expect that women will take it lying down - the safe knowledge of the truth being backed up by the Supreme Court / Government guidance / the law / etc. will support those same women who have been intimidated and abused over the years in bringing justice when men carry on transgressing...

It feeds their collective oppression fantasy @tutorpuzzle
