To be so fed up amd disheartened with all the xenophobia

1000 replies

Nohqters · 04/08/2025 21:56

Honestly, I’m just feeling worn out and heartbroken lately. It seems like racism and xenophobia are becoming more and more mainstream again, wrapped up in the same tired scare stories, whether it’s splashed across a tabloid or coming straight out of Farage’s mouth. Then you see stupid threads on here about civil war trying to stir up more hate.

Even my own brother has started sounding like Tommy Robinson. Ten years ago, that would’ve been unthinkable. It’s like people have completely forgotten the lies we were sold during Brexit—by Farage, Tice and their crowd—and yet they’re still lapping up everything they say. No critical thought, just blind anger pointed in the wrong direction.
I’m so fed up with the endless nonsense about small boats, “white minorities,” and all the rest of it. It’s all designed to divide us, stoke hate, and distract from the real culprits—rubbish politicians, broken policies, and the ultra-wealthy hoarding resources while the rest of us struggle.

But instead of looking upwards, it’s always “blame Johnny Foreigner.” It’s exhausting, and frankly terrifying how quickly people fall for it.

Is anyone else feeling this? How are you managing conversations when even close family seem to be buying into this stuff? I’m trying to stay compassionate, but it’s getting harder to bite my tongue.

Wasn’t a woman working at a hotel housing asylum seekers murdered last year? By an asylum seeker? Do you just ignore the fact that the people coming on small boats are vast majority male?

Yes. Very close to me and people have forgotten all this already.
Unless you live where these houses and hotels are then it's hard to really see the day to day impact on the people living close by. School kids don't want to get buses, teen children are being followed and mocked and commented on and don't feel safe

Asking again because I’m guessing you missed my question, but do you have a source for this “factual statement”, please?

This poster doesn't answer the tough questions.

Where do you suggest they go, given that they were born there?

Given that they were born there, why don’t they celebrate their country?

goldenquestion · 05/08/2025 12:25

Nevereatcardboard · 05/08/2025 12:19

I agree with this. Why is it that there are so few young, single women arriving here?

Because they are often travelling from cultures that often barely let women leave the house, let alone have access to money and resources required to make such enormous and arduous journeys.

JamesMacGill · 05/08/2025 12:26

I will post only this as I am leaving the thread now.

It will go unanswered. It will be batted away. It will be met with ‘but what about British men…’. It will be dismissed as racist.

This year alone, multiple women have been raped, multiple young girls have been raped. Alongside the rape there have been abductions, attempted abductions. A woman has been stabbed to death. A man and toddler were stabbed to death in January. Boys have also been raped.

What is, in your view, an acceptable number of people to sacrifice to the above crimes to accommodate ‘asylum seekers’ who are primarily men from very misogynistic countries who have been allowed to terrify women for decades with very little resistance?

You won’t answer, you’ll look away. It’s uncomfortable. It won’t happen to your daughter, your cousin, your friend. You hope. You want to believe in good, you tell yourself, and that means always being open and accommodating. Anyone who triages based on a characteristic is surely a bigot? Apart from when it comes to transwomen. I mean, you get called bigoted for that - but it’s different, you have genuine concerns. These racists don’t. Even though the crimes are numerous and grave; surely they’re just racist for pointing them out?

I know deep down you know what I’m saying is true. You can’t face facts, because you’ve convinced yourself it would make you a ‘bad person’. Good luck with your conscience is all I can say.

OP you are correct of course but I learned not too long ago this forum isn’t the place for conversations like this. As you can see you have a lot of hit dogs hollering responding, many who believe it’s worse to be accused of racism/xenophobia than it is to actually experience these things.

If there was racism, There would be a hell of a lot more deleted posts. I trust MNHQ to make that call, don't you? You can call anyone, on the right or not even on the right, racists etc. Your view is no more valid than ours. The conversation - out of this bubble, won't be as easily shut down. I'm sure it's only a matter of time before the thread goes; it's no doubt, the plan.

No one is leaving questions unanswered except you.

And for the record I also think people scapegoating transwomen for other peoples rimes are bigots.

The only group that doesn't have to bear the brunt of other peoples crimes in this country, are white people.

See you, it was pointless talking to you other than to confirm that people like you are everything I thought they were - vacuous and bigoted.

Oh and edited to add: men from ALL countries have little respect for women, including the president of the USA. Please don't patronise people by pretending this is a far away issue.

It's not just pathetic, it's bizarre!
Turning on their own countrymen.
I just can't fathom it.

Imagine if they'd tried this shit during the 2 world wars?

The Daily Mail would have agreed with you there; it campaigned to stop allowing Jewish children to seek refuge in the UK during WW2.

Wilfulignoranceabounds · 05/08/2025 12:15

Okay, so it’s the Telegraph article you got your “fact” from. I’ve read that article and it doesn’t say what you seem to think it does. It doesn’t say that Afghans and Eritreans are 20 times more likely to commit sex crimes, it says that they are 20 times more likely to be convicted which is a very different matter.

In which case they should be deported and no, I don’t give a shit what happens to them when they get back. They should think about the consequences before they commit offences. Sadly we’re stuck with anyone who is born here but we can do something about those who aren’t. The same applies to British men who commit crimes abroad.

Teanbiscuits33 · 05/08/2025 12:34

JamesMacGill · 05/08/2025 12:16

How do you know it’s not true when you can’t provide a good source showing, without doubt, that Afghan asylum seekers do not commit sex attacks at a higher rate?

You can’t provide a good source showing that they do. You were the one that made the claim using a bullshit source. I already provided a Met police source which you ignored, so it’s not the gotcha you think it is.

You’re just a bigot trying to justify your deeply entrenched beliefs. It would be too painful to let go of them and admit you’re wrong because you’ve probably held those views for too long now. I don’t care what you come back insulting me with. I don’t want to communicate with you any further.

So are you stating that large groups of unvetted, men that have no social structure and no outlet for their quite human desires and not going to become angry and frustrated.

Especially when may come from countries that see women and girls as objects according to their cultural norms and belief systems?

Are you serious?

PS you COMPLETE avoided answering how you would deal with their desires over time.

Why do you think men are animals, unable to deal with their instincts without raping women? You seem to equate non-UK born men with base, animalistic behaviour. Timeless racism.

ForWittyTealOP · 05/08/2025 12:36

Do you have compassion for raped children? Because the 12 year old has still not been mentioned by any of the ‘compassionate’ posters here.

Stop weaponising the sexual abuse of children to try to prove some kind of point.

Thanks for pointing this out, I was going to do some digging myself

I've been feeling like this recently, Reform, GB News etc. aren't helping. The Mail Online is just a cesspit of racism now (at one time it actually had some decent news). It has got so much worse.

People don't even try and hide it. I've seen people quote Tommy Robinson and using him as some kind of sensible voice. The local Reform councillor openly encourages racism, hidden behind faux concern for the people, people spreading lies to stir up hate, all the "we must stand up for our rights", "they're taking our houses, why can't our homeless have them".

No, it's ok. If I wouldn't engage with someone in real life, I'm going to want to give them a pretty wide berth online.

Surely this needs to be addressed nationally. Surely there should be an orientation programme to inform and educate about how in this country we respect women and if you are to be here, you need to abide by our culture.

why is it simply being ignored? There are women in government… why isn’t this being addressed openly!

The trouble is that the ONS does not provide statistical analyses of this kind. They share data without interpretation.

Wilfulignoranceabounds · 05/08/2025 12:43

JamesMacGill · 05/08/2025 12:17

That’s even worse! We know how few cases reach trial.

Except it’s not that simple. What we know is that our institutionally racist police force (see McPherson Report; Casey Review before you come at me) is more likely to arrest non-whites in the first place. Black people are twice as likely to be arrested than white people. Black people are not more likely to be arrested because they’re more likely to have committed a crime; they’re more likely to be arrested by virtue of not being white. And we also know that black and minority defendants are significantly more likely to be charged for a comparable offence than white British defendants (CPS). So we are not all equal in the eyes of the law. That they have a higher conviction rate does not equate to them having committed more crimes. It’s far too simplistic a summation and, frankly, that politicians can be so disingenuous as to conflate the two and that others will just mindlessly repeat it, is depressing.

As for how few cases go to trial, what’s the racial breakdown of the ones that don’t go to trial? The stats suggest it ain’t what you think it is.
