Do you believe there will be a civil war?

I’ve been thinking about this a lot lately and I wonder if others feel the same. With everything going on, from the arrival of illegal migrants in small boats to a government that seems powerless, and with Farage gaining popularity because people are fed up, it feels like tension is rising across the country.

People are frustrated. You try to raise concerns and are instantly labelled a racist or bigot, even when your worries are about integration, safety, and national identity, not race. It feels like any honest conversation is being shut down.

There are parts of the UK where people who were born and raised here no longer feel at home. In some areas, if you are not part of the dominant local community, you can feel completely out of place or even unsafe walking alone at night. That is not right in your own country.

It is not just about people coming from Muslim-majority countries or those arriving illegally. There are also large numbers of Eastern Europeans, including Bulgarians, Romanians, and Russians. Many work hard and contribute, but there are also communities forming where people keep to themselves, speak no English, and make no effort to integrate. Some of these areas are experiencing rising antisocial behaviour, crime, and a breakdown of community life.

You can find videos online showing the state of some of these areas, with rubbish piling up, people ignoring the rules, and no sign of enforcement. It looks lawless, and it often is. But speaking about it honestly is considered of limits.

I live next to a Muslim family and they are wonderful people. Friendly, respectful, hardworking. So this is not about judging individuals. This is about a wider pattern where people are arriving, not integrating, and changing the fabric of our country in ways no one voted for.

We are a Christian country with our own traditions, values, and way of life. Why is it seen as wrong to want to preserve that? If we moved to Saudi Arabia, Bulgaria, or Russia, we would be expected to adapt to their culture. So why is it unacceptable to ask the same here?

The anger and division in this country are growing. I do not want unrest or conflict, but I cannot ignore what feels like a serious shift. When ordinary people feel ignored for too long, things eventually boil over.

Is anyone else feeling this? Or are we just not allowed to talk about it anymore?

What makes me 🙄 is how all these patriotic types (mainly men) who hark on about Making Britain Great Again seem to sit back and ignore countless sexual assaults, rapes and killing of women. Every fucking day.

Until it’s Johnny Forriner from the migrant hotel in town who has committed the heinous act.

Then they riot and call for blood

sunsetoverit · 04/08/2025 18:39

Scary lack of imagination on here.

Mrsbloggz · 04/08/2025 18:39

Not in the sense of a 'hot' war, maybe a cold war civil war?

MrsBennetsPoorNerves · 04/08/2025 18:41

I don't think there will be a civil war. I do think that there will be significant social unrest and a serious breakdown of law and order if and when Reform get in - and it's looking likely that they will - and it gradually starts to dawn on them that, not only will Reform be incapable of fixing their problems, they will actually make them much worse. I think the rage will boil over at that point, and I don't want to stick around to see what happens.

She is not only racist but very badly educated putting Muslim and Balkans together. Like have you read about the Ottoman Empire? I am sure you have not.

let me also reassure you, I am Balkan married with a British. Many like him support their own Christian values and also their European Christian wives. You guys get married with a British man and get divorced sooner or later, we get marry with a British man and he stays forever. I hope your racism gets activated if this is what you wanted.

She was contrasting them, not comparing. Her point was that the problem isn't just illegal immigration from Muslim countries but other white and christian countries such as Russia.

swimsong · 04/08/2025 18:43

You need to stop finding videos online, OP.

BashfulClam · 04/08/2025 18:43

We’re not a ‘Christian country’ actually.

I think you'll find that Brits participate in sex tourism in places like the far east. Brits also have a rep for getting drunk and obnoxious on holiday in Europe.

Organised crime isn't a "foreigner only" kind of crime.

I have to admit I've never quite followed this line of argument... if you think British people in other countries should speak the local language and integrate into their host culture then surely you should expect the same of immigrants to the UK? Or, if you accept that some immigrants here prefer to live among other people from their home countries and speak their own language, shouldn't you be happy for British people abroad to do the same?

It’s the hypocrisy of it. Lots of Brits live abroad and make zero effort to learn the language or integrate. Yet this practice is demonised when immigrants do it in the UK.

Grammarnut · 04/08/2025 18:45

Not going to have a civil war. We haven't forgotten the last one btw (400 years ago) and no-one wants a repeat of that horror. Get off social media and go and look around, there is no great dissension, no great divides such as cause civil wars e.g. large different ethnicities, huge differences about religion or who should rule or what their powers should be. Those are the causes of civil war, not rubbishy areas round the corner (always there - someone pointed this out a couple of thousand years ago) or that a minority of people come from elsewhere.

How many immigrants to Britain don't learn the language? Very few except for those who were already elderly hen they arrived. But there' s absolutely no reason why they shouldn't speak their own languages in their own communities

pointythings · 04/08/2025 18:47

Dear OP, just in case you didn't know - but I think that you do and you're just stirring - it isn't illegal to arrive in the UK by small boat and claim asylum.

Slalomsfathoms · 04/08/2025 18:47

Cautiously hoping this does not happen but I fear eventually it will. If you went to a foreign country and had nothing to do and was not wanted. What would you get up to? Eventually people who have nothing will keep growing in numbers and want to take what they can see because, why wouldn’t they? Basic human nature evolves to survival of the fittest.

Myme · 04/08/2025 18:48

Evaka · 04/08/2025 18:27

What? A British woman looked at a room full of people entering the country from other nations and said "ugh, look at the great unwashed". Her tone wasn't light hearted or joking. She sounded disgusted. She sounded like a bigoted arsehole and her words creeped me out.

I mentioned nothing about skin colour btw, that was all you.

If they were all white how would she know they were foreign? She was either very racist (if you are correct) and she knew all these people were foreign just by looking at them (which is quite hard surely if everyone has the same skin colour?). Or she was just referring to a mass of people that had nothing to do with their skin colour or nationality in which case why is that so bad?

My Uncle went to Oasis recently and said he was surrounded by the great unwashed. The vast majority of people there were white British. The great unwashed was really a term used by upper class to refer to peasants. It was never used with racial/nationality in mind. Which is why working class people often say it jokingly as it is a term that would actually but applied to them in the past.

Maybe this woman was being rude about a group of foreign people. But the term itself does not necessarily mean that. But if as you imply the crowds of people were not all of different skin colours then why is it presumed she is being rude about them being foreign? It could have been a return flight from Spain with a bunch of British holidaymakers?

pointythings · 04/08/2025 18:49

@LauraNorda I live in a small, very white town with very few immigrants.

My DC have been cat called, followed, ogled and thrown horrific sexual and rape innuendo by... British white men.

The problem isn't immigrants. It's men. Men, men, men.

Theunamedcat · 04/08/2025 18:49

Nope we are all too lazy (including myself in this statement btw)

If Reform got in, it would be even more of a shambles than the governments of Johnson and Truss, and would collapse even more quickly. I don't envy whichever government takes over from them.

Have you ever worked in a school in an area of high immigration and tried talking to the mums? There's a HUGE problem with South Asians, women especially, not learning English when they emigrate. It makes relations with their child's teachers basically impossible.

AlwaysBelieveTheEx · 04/08/2025 18:51

I don’t think there’ll be a civil war, but I do think there’ll be more riots, more steps towards the far right, more women and girls endangered for the sake of the left’s ideological bubble.

I wonder if anyone can imagine the reaction if Spanish/French/Italian people marched into a British shop and started speaking their native tongue and expecting the staff to be able to understand them and speak back to them in Spanish/French/Italian. Because that is what British people do constantly. The chance that the average Brit actually happens to speak any of these languages is also small whereas when Brits do it abroad, usually the person will respond to them in English. But it’s so arrogant and entitled when you think about it given our refusal to even try to learn languages.

nadine90 · 04/08/2025 18:53

We’re a Christian country you say? So when the stranger knocks on our door we invite them in, clothe and feed them, no?

I’ve often wondered if the Brits learn Arabic in Dubai or Spanish in Spain when they live in enclaves?

In my case, yes I did. I learnt Arabic and Russian from when I lived abroad.

In all the countries I have lived in, you had to be employed to move there and your company would have to cover your health insurance. Lose your job and you’re deported in 30 days if you don’t find a new one. In UAE, it takes 30 years and many other specifications before you can apply to become a citizen.

I have nothing against LEGAL immigration. My XH came over on a spouse visa, which is a very tedious process and they are fully vetted.

The illegal immigrants coming over are not being vetted. For all we know, they could be extremists or rapists. XH was saying how it’s a known thing how many men come over from his home country (Middle East) and pretend to be gay to claim asylum. They say their lives are in danger if they return and they will receive an honour killing.

rriffraff · 04/08/2025 18:54

I heard the David Betts podcast and it is quite compelling, in that he said it is when a majority group that has held power (i.e. in our case 'whites' to put it simply 74% 2021 going to The White British population is projected to fall below 50% by approximately 2063) -feel worried about the implications of being a minority and the implied loss of cultural leadership of the country by a rising group, i.e mainly immigrants who have arrived in the last 10 years.
Cities like London are more like a jigsaw of ethnic enclaves with different groups living seperate lives in different areas and this has led to a loss of their cohesion.
His argument was that it wouldn't take much to target a modern City like London as the infrastructure is very vulnerable as we have built a society on a cohesive and law abiding population but if a relatively small group (Northern Ireland at it's height had around 1500 active members) then civil unrest might erupt.

stargirl1701 · 04/08/2025 18:55

No, not in the UK. Riots may be a possibility as we have seen historically in other summers.
