Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

It’s the first year I don’t have any FOMO whatsoever 🤣

BalladOfBarryAndFreda · 28/06/2025 14:03

The lineup in general is crap but Alanis' set was stellar.

NeartoNewquay · 28/06/2025 14:04

Yes I agree. Enjoyed En Vogue and was looking forward to Neil Young but his set isn't going to be televised apparently.

Jasmin71 · 28/06/2025 14:05

It's been getting bad for years and years. Very average all over.

RitaAndFrank · 28/06/2025 14:10

I had to switch over when En Vogue was on. But that’s due to personal taste. I’m sure if you’re a fan of that kind of music they were great. So much of it is objective really. Now when the Cure were on a few years ago, I was deeply envious of everyone that was there to experience them live.

I’m not a fan of anything much this year. Certainly none of the headliners. the Woodsies Stage looks most exciting for me.

Gloriia · 28/06/2025 14:10

I'm older than you but even so used to enjoy watching it even if the music wasn't my thing but now it's just overhyped, politicised woke bollocks with average singers. Obviously the Eavis family are laughing all the way to the bank but it really has had its day.

We can only wait in excitement for what profound crap Kneecap will spout later today.

Do the owners seriously think their 'the world shouldn't have borders' banners are a good idea when they are surrounded by a massive effect perimeter fence?!

abnerbrownsdressinggown · 28/06/2025 14:14

Not going this year, but there are usually a few artists we want to see on the main stages over the weekend.

The dance fields and the SE corner are where the really decent stuff is on if you are into that sort of thing though.

Agreed - I had serious FOMO the year the Cure played.

@NeartoNewquay According to BBC News they have decided they will broadcast Neil Young after all.

He's done a U turn now, and decided the BBC aren't evil shills 🙄

NeartoNewquay · 28/06/2025 14:16

Ooh thanks for letting me know @Needmorelego something to look forward too 😀

Wrong way round. It was him having a mantrum, not the BBC.

LlynTegid · 28/06/2025 14:18

It lost the original spirit and purpose a long time ago. Making some bands or solo artists pay to attend in all but name, and then tickets not allocated by ballot or some other reasonable way.

I doubt having someone who allegedly says that Nigel Farage should be given a chance would have been considered for the event even ten years ago.

jay55 · 28/06/2025 14:18

It was lovely to see Louis Capaldi back. But I’m not fussed about much else that’s been on.

But then I loved it when I went in my teens and early 20s but never fancied going as a proper adult.

watchuswreckthemic · 28/06/2025 14:22

I’m loving it! Buffy Clyro were ace as was Alanis Morrisette. Currently catching up on Busta Rhymes

All oldsters though. The youngsters I've seen, like CMAT and Self Esteem, have been great.

Fupoffyagrasshole · 28/06/2025 14:25

The headline stuff and everything on tv is only a tiny part though

Arcadia, block 9, shangri la etc all happening after dark and all the djs playing ! There’s always something brilliant on

forget the pyramid stage

popcornpower2025 · 28/06/2025 14:26

I think yab a bit unreasonable as there's loads of other stuff on outside of the headliners

BeaLola · 28/06/2025 14:27

I haven't really ever watched the coverage but last night I tuned in to see The Searchers on the acoustic stage bow out after 68 years of music -and did the BBC show one minute of it - no,nothing, nada I'm fuming

I saw them a week ago and they were great - ao much better than anything else they covered last night

sciaticafanatica · 28/06/2025 14:28

Butlins for the middle class these days.
its just woke money making bollocks

Turmerictolly · 28/06/2025 14:29

Yes, would like to see more from the other stages/sets - there are hundreds of them!

Gloriia · 28/06/2025 14:30

Yes caught a bit of self esteem last night singing 'fuck fuck fuck fuck' on a loop <yes im an ole giffer>. Very talented songwriter..

Whatafustercluck · 28/06/2025 14:32

It hasn't really been the same since Emily took over, but then maybe I feel the way about Glastonbury now as older folk felt when my age group was attending regularly. We've seen some great acts there over the years, and for many years I couldn't watch it on tv because I missed being there. This is the first year that I haven't really felt that way.

Do the owners seriously think their 'the world shouldn't have borders' banners are a good idea when they are surrounded by a massive effect perimeter fence?!

It's a condition of their licence. I was there in 2000 when loads of people jumped the perimeter. It felt overcrowded to the point of dangerous. The perimeter fence is a sensible evolution for a festival the size of Glastonbury.

gingercat02 · 28/06/2025 14:32

1975 are not for me, but I would go just for Sir Rod, Alanis and The Biff.
I have never got tickets 😪😢

kirinm · 28/06/2025 14:33

It has always been highly political. Don’t people feel embarrassed using the term woke as an insult?

The crowd is too big for me nowadays and it’s a bit TikToker friendly now but I have a tiny bit of FOMO. I am watching Brian Wilson from 2005 though as haven’t found anything else I like (watched a bit of Alanis and En Vogue last night).
