Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

It’s lovely to see all the support for Palestine there this year

Much less than I was expecting, in the audiences at least, judging by there being only about two Palestinian flags flying.

Was nice to see a big "Bring them home" yellow ribbon.

That would only work as an insult if the BBC showed every other act except Kneecap.

Exactly.

Plus surely they'll have to censor incase they 'accidently' pick up a terrorist flag and shout 'kill yer MP'. Mind one's on bail so he'll have to keep his nose clean, they've maybe been silenced.

We have thoroughly enjoyed what we have seen . Franz Ferdinand and Peter Capaldi what a treat !
Scissor Sisters tonight ,
Loved The 1975 ,Matt Healy, what a brilliant songwriter and performer.
So good to see Lewis Capaldi back and looking and sounding so well 😁
Raye and Neil Young tonight to look forward to and Nile Rogers and Chic. We are loving it 😁
Nearly forgot to say what a brilliant set by Alanis Morrisette yesterday and didn't she look absolutely fantastic.

Shame Netanyahu doesn’t think like that

I'm sure he would think it's nice to see yellow ribbon flags at Glastonbury.

'It's a condition of their licence. I was there in 2000 when loads of people jumped the perimeter. It felt overcrowded to the point of dangerous. The perimeter fence is a sensible evolution for a festival the size of Glastonbury.'

Of course it is a health and safety issue but can they really not see the irony of having banners saying no borders?! Oh hang on, health and safety and overcrowding issues must only apply to Tarquin & co at Glastonbury.

No, i said it's a condition of them being granted their licence every year. Same as not allowing people to piss in hedges due to environmental impact. Glastonbury is the size of a small city descending on the countryside every year, so you can't really whinge about health and safety - particularly when you have examples such as Astroworld of when things have gone horrendously wrong due to poor oversight, planning and crowd control. I'm pleased authorities take people's safety seriously (which applies equally to football fans as it does 'Tarquin and co' at festivals).

That fence isn't just about safety though, it's literally the thing that saved Glastonbury's future. Michael Eavis has said he understands why it's necessary now, but even he believes it's taken something away from how the festival was conceived as an idea - its roots, if you like. But times change and no fence, no Glastonbury.

Glastonbury may not be your cup of tea, you may think it's full of woke avocado smoothie sipping rich kids. But rules keep people safe. It's entirely possible to support freedom of movement politically, while not wanting people to be crushed to death. It's totally false equivalence.

Even on the stage

Glastonbury worst I've seen!
BeamMeUpCountMeIn · 28/06/2025 16:15

Yabu.
There's old and new artists there. Once you give them a chance almost everyone puts on a good show.

Chickyhip · 28/06/2025 16:16

Honestly can’t get excited about Self Esteem. Utterly beige.

DiamondThrone · 28/06/2025 16:16

JaneJeffer · 28/06/2025 16:15

Even on the stage

One so far. Where are the rest?

BlueEyedBogWitch · 28/06/2025 16:17

I turned it off and put Radiohead’s set on from 1997.

Now that was Glastonbury. Blistering, and a proper vibe. No banners and flags, no mobiles.

I can’t post them all 🤣

Shame Netanyahu doesn’t think like that

Nor Hamas, Hezbollah and Iranian regime (women oppressing, anti gays) supporters too..(for balance right 😉)

DiamondThrone · 28/06/2025 16:20

JaneJeffer · 28/06/2025 16:19

Okay. Just one more!

Edited

Yeah whatever.

My point being it is beyond ironic all the reasons for these perimeter fences to keep characters out trying to enter illegally yet once inside they have all these stupid signs saying 'no borders'. I think many of them are just too thick to understand the contrariness.

It's getting back to the same mindset of attending via helicopter and wearing a climate change tshirt. All a bit up their own backside aren't they. Take your litter home too!

CapabilityBrownsHaHa · 28/06/2025 16:21

I've only watched the Alanis set so far, but may dip in and out of some others. And to the previous posters who wondered if she was singing live, oh yes. She really is that good that you question it. And her unique vocal style means that she can sing vowel sounds perfectly well with her mouth open. 😀. My favourite version of Uninvited is still live at the Grammy's from 1999, with the full orchestra giving it some.

reversegear · 28/06/2025 16:21

I still remeber florence and the machine being amazing and now it’s all just dross.

Olivesforteatonighty · 28/06/2025 16:22

Is it just a reflection of the state of the music of today?

buffyajp · 28/06/2025 16:24

corlan · 28/06/2025 16:04

Just switched on to watch Kneecap but seems the BBC will not be showing them . What an absolute shower of craven fuckers the BBC are.

Aww didums. I’m sure you will survive. This is about the only thing I do support them on.

DiamondThrone · 28/06/2025 16:24

I'm waiting for next year - Bensone Boone and Chappell Roan. And RAYE as a headliner.

Now that will be cool!

I am convinced she was miming on some tracks at least. In one instance she was singing an “oh” word, but he mouth was in a wide grin - impossible.

Yes, I thought at times her mouth shape didn't match the sounds.

DiamondThrone · 28/06/2025 16:25

Hope the BBC put Doechii's set on iPlayer.

MintTwirl · 28/06/2025 16:26

AKAanothername · 28/06/2025 16:06

Nobody's mentioned Myles Smith, his set was really good yesterday.

Yep, we enjoyed his set too.

manicpixieschemegirl · 28/06/2025 16:27

I couldn’t think of anything worse than being surrounded by cringey middle class dullards wetting their knickers because they’re at ‘Glasto’, and gassing up mediocre shite as ‘awsome’ and ‘ace’. Boak.

PandoraSocks · 28/06/2025 16:29

Are there any clues about Patchwork? Will it be Pulp?
