Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

MEH- why? They had a much better and varied bunch of headliners at Glasto- the Maccabees headlining the Park stage on the Sunday was incredible- brilliant band. Olivia Rodrigo was fantastic, Prodigy were also incredible. Scissor sisters totally owned the Woodsies stage as headliners too. Doechii was amazing on the west holts as was Self esteem on the park.

So much newer good stuff out there to avoid a pair of over rated karaoke singers! I have seen both Liam and Noel separately at Glasto in recent times- Liam is SO nasally and Noel just shit talks about everyone else. Overhyped and over rated band.

Totally agree. Glastonbury didn't need them. I've always hated Oasis, I see no appeal whatsoever in a man with no stage presence standing with his hands behind his back growling into a microphone. I don't mind the stuff they've done separately but I'd rather cut off my own ear than see them live

Same - and to see them on a tour which they have also totally said is a massive money grab! Absolute tossers!!

I'm sure they would have loved to have them and it would have been iconic. But presumably they didnt want to do it. They are not having the concerts televised and it would have damaged the big sell of their reunion to perform at Glastonbury just the week before the concerts start.

Sorry to be controversial, but I saw Oasis last night, and they were absolutely brilliant. I was honestly shocked at how good they were last night! Liam wasn’t an arsehole either, which I was also shocked about! 😂

It's not controversial. It's just not having music snobbery!

(Download had Vengaboys doing a side gig this year...it was rammed; there's no 'should' / 'should not' about which bands perform at festivals. Just because a band / performer isn't to your taste, doesn't mean they shouldn't be there!)

Genuinely curious, what was so good about them?

@ConnieHeartI like their songs, and have done since I was 11 (I’m nearly 40!), so that helps. Liam’s vocals were really good. Honestly, I was impressed. They just sounded really, really good. Much better than I was expecting, especially after a 20 year break.

That's my reason I don't like them, I've never liked their songs & I really don't think Liam has any stage presence. But as I said I don't mind their stuff away from Oasis, I can appreciate Noel's talent and I think they are both v funny when interviewed. I think they've both definitely mellowed with age

Well there are Zionists working in the music business- they wrote to Glastonbury asking for Kneecap to be pulled. That’s fact.

And as we know, some Zionists are Jewish and some are not, just as some Jews are Zionists and some are not.

So a) the complaint about the letter was reasonable as the letter was really sent and did attempt censorship and b) that complaint is also not antisemitic.

From the river to the sea we have all done to death here and in real life over the last two years so if you want to believe that to be antisemitic that is up to you. Personally, I don’t.

But here we all are again wasting time on this sideshow when still today children were killed in Gaza. Children. Killed. Every day. That’s the story, that’s the issue, that’s what needs to stop.

The majority of Jews hold Zionist beliefs and the majority of Zionists are Jewish. Since Jewish people aren't stupid, we know that when Big Bob Vylan refers to Zionists, onstage and in his social media stuff, he's actually using a really really clever Secret Code which he fondly imagined disguises his racism.
Anyway, he's a silly little man marching around stage in his knickers like Boris Johnson going for a jog, and I doubt the Palestinians would be interested in his bandwagon jumping.

While I'm here, there was an article in the paper this week on the plight of Tigrayan Eritrean women which was so painful to read I immediately set up a monthly direct debit to contribute. Not a fashionable cause I realise, but if anyone is interested, the link is here.

What do you mean "wasting time"? Are you suggesting that if we all stop discussing this, it would free up our time to bring peace to the middle east?!

I saw them circa around 1996 at the Maine Road stadium. They were alright - that's about the best I can say - but it was obvious they were a flash in the pan even then. The support band were better.

If I'd been given a choice this year between a ticket to Glastobury, Oasis or the Ozzy/Black Sabbath gig in Birmingham last weekend, I'd take the Ozzy one all day long.

Well even though I don't like Oasis they definitely weren't a flash in the pan

But I'd love to have seen Ozzy!

Probs depends on what kind of music you are into also tbh- I cannot stand heavy metal and actively avoided Metallica when I was at the glasto they headlined. So the Ozzy gig would have been my idea of hell 😂

The two things aren’t even vaguely similar

They are the same in the posters head.
