Anyone else? I tuned in last night and couldn't believe how bad it was! 1975 was headlining and it was so middle or the road.

Maybe I'm getting old but the music was awful!!! So bland. Im early 40s 🤣

What are your thoughts?

Last year was the first time I could watch it and my last one was 2010!

Mine was 2010 also! I was pregnant with my eldest, so no booze for me but had an amazing time all the same.

Now when the Cure were on a few years ago, I was deeply envious of everyone that was there to experience them live.

That set was utterly brilliant wasn't it.
I thught the Pet Shop Boys were excellent as well.

I was going to mention the Pet Shop Boys too!

Bob Vylan is excellent. Suspect MN is absolutely not his crowd though.

I was quite enjoying his set until he started chanting "death to the IDF" repeatedly and getting the crowd to join in... Not that I'm a fan of the IDF (at all!), but inciting violence live on the BBC isn't my cup of tea, so I guess you're right in your assessment!

All oldsters though. The youngsters I've seen, like CMAT and Self Esteem, have been great.

I agree, I’ve been looking them up and am going to buy some of their music, I thought their sets were great.

Claudette7934 · 28/06/2025 15:55

CMAT stole the show - she was awesome. Some of the other stuff - much less so.

Miyagi99 · 28/06/2025 15:56

If I went I wouldn’t go for the bands anyway, I go to a lot of festivals and you don’t know the lineup when you purchase tickets, it’s more for the atmosphere, meeting people and watching random acts that you might not of heard before. That said I’d try and make it to Alanis Morrisette and Supergrass.

Elderflower14 · 28/06/2025 15:58

Cat Stevens was brilliant two years ago..
Bruce Springsteen was fab last time he played... 💕

AgnesX · 28/06/2025 15:59

The titbit the Beeb showed of the Blossoms, Super grass and Franz Ferdinand was ok ..but that's kind of when I stopped listening to music generally.

Trainstrike · 28/06/2025 16:00

Loved Alanis Morissette, En Vogue and Brandi Carlile but haven't been interested in anything else.

Have you ever seen the pictures of all the tents left at festivals? By the younger generation who criticise older people for the state the world is in?

Yes!

She is allegedly an acclaimed songwriter yet her songs consist of fuck fuck fuckity fuck.
Maybe a new style poet like The Matt Healy.

Judging by your post you listened for about 24 seconds.

corlan · 28/06/2025 16:04

Just switched on to watch Kneecap but seems the BBC will not be showing them . What an absolute shower of craven fuckers the BBC are.

In recent years I lived near Glastonbury and I can't tell you how sickening the number of helicopters are in an era where we're all trying to cut emissions.

The Somerset sky is like the Vietnam Helicopter Evacuation during Glastonbury weekend.

Yes it'd be really good if they practised what they preached but Glastonbury is a case of do as we say not as we do. The masses of rubbish left behind another example.

AKAanothername · 28/06/2025 16:06

Nobody's mentioned Myles Smith, his set was really good yesterday.

Ohwhatfuckeryitistoride · 28/06/2025 16:06

I caught Cmat last night, embarrassingly awful.(and yes, though I am old, I’ve been going to gigs for a long long time and have seen lots of challenging and diverse acts(what my parents (and my kids!)would have called bloody noise), so like a bit of batshit crazy, but it would shame the local karaoke.

JaneJeffer · 28/06/2025 16:06

It’s lovely to see all the support for Palestine there this year

She was awesome. What a voice, what an outfit!

Arran2024 · 28/06/2025 16:07

I had never heard the 1975's music (I'm old!). I enjoyed their set but am astonished that this is Glastonbury headline material. Not a single hit. All lovely but bland. I did like 'Paris' but really, I was pretty underwhelmed. Matt Healy has a lovely voice but he is a bit full of it.

Just watched The Script. They were SO much better.

I thought En Vogue were pretty decent. And Alanis Morissette should have headlined. What were they thinking, putting such an iconic act on so early?

Thank God. Hopefully they won't show them at all.

They have said they are going on i-player later.

NooNakedJacuzziness · 28/06/2025 16:08

I’m enjoying Weezer at the moment, they sound pretty good

Oh swearing is fine i do it myself but her songs literally were all fuck fuck fucking fuck. I don't get the acclaimed songwriter bit.

I listen on R6 rather than watch and usually they get rid of all that stuff. So much of it generally when they don’t.

Some 'we will dance again' flags too and yellow ribbon flags for the hostages. Nice to see a bit of balance.

That would only work as an insult if the BBC showed every other act except Kneecap.

Shame Netanyahu doesn’t think like that
