Hate my new tattoo

OutbackQueen · 27/06/2025 10:12

What I asked for. What I got. It’s on the inside of my wrist. I went to my usual place and had it done by the owner - the guy who did my previous delicate and artistic tats has left 🙁
I hate it, it’s so clumsy and even the shape is wrong.
AIBU to dislike it so much? What would you do?

Pointing out a recent study on health implications of tattoos is not being unpleasant. Stating one doesn’t care for tattoos is not being unpleasant. I like green. You may hate it, say you hate it and that would have no affect on me. If you’re happy with your choices, then great for you. But that doesn’t negate my right to say what I think of those choices.

Did nobody ever teach you that you don't have to express every thought that comes into your head?

CuthbertStrange · 29/06/2025 21:24

pinkyredrose · 29/06/2025 16:15

You're assuming that people are interested in your opinion again. Why don't you have a day off.

I was merely addressing your accusation as is my right. You are not the arbiter of my thoughts or my ability to express them.

I have many thoughts beyond the subject of tattoos and I can express them
anytime I want to as can you.

Maybe you should learn to read the room.

I agree with this. Fine to have opinions about tattoos obviously your right to express them, but so clearly unwanted and not helpful.

Pointing out the health dangers of a practice that has literally exploded in popularity is not just an opinion. From speaking to people thinking of inking, the majority don’t even think about, let alone investigate yet most are very health conscious. This informations needs to be known as the implications can be devastating. As for my expressing my personal opinions, why cares if I don’t care for them. If you’re happy with your choices, then why the sensitivity? It’s interesting to see the reactions…

DueyCheatemAndHow · 29/06/2025 21:36

God this is so embarrassing for you.

If this is the case why aren't you off campaigning rather than posting on a threat for a woman who already has a tattoo?

You can't actually be serious.

Why so triggered?

in any case, the correlation between tattoos and cancer in the study concerned tattoos over palm size. Given that many people start with one tattoo and then proceed to accumulate more, it’s important that they’re aware of the consequences. It’s all about informed choices.

If you love your tattoos and are happy with them, then whatever I have to say will be of little value to you so I’m not sure why all the upset.

Oh I’ve read the room and I’m fascinated by the friction caused by one anon poster sharing pertinent health information and expressing a personal opinion to do with aesthetics.

As I said above, if you are confident about your choices, then my dissenting opinion will have no value at all to you.

Christ are you still going?

pinkyredrose · 29/06/2025 22:49

I don't have any tattoos.

Thanks for the helpful posts. And can we all please stop engaging with @CuthbertStrange! This is exactly what she wants (assuming it’s a she) so stop feeding her! Someone who thinks that using the word arsehole is foul-mouthed is probably about 90 years old and hasn’t been shagged in decades.
Inevitably this will elicit a response from said-person but I for one, am not even going to read it 🤣🤣

MN have already removed some of @CuthbertStrange’s posts but I’ve also reported them for trolling.
In the meantime, just pass over their posts and have a lovely day!

And yet you can't help but continue and make assumptions as well. I am a she, happily married with children. I also care about health and the spiralling costs and inaccessibility of public health. There is absolutely nothing wrong with sharing important health information that I don't believe is widespread knowledge. I am also not a "troll" but I will respond when being put down and demeaned for stating my opinion.

And is there something wrong with being 90? Talk about ageist.

OutbackQueen · 30/06/2025 08:28

I’m leaving this thread now but wanted to thank you all for your advice and support (what MN’s all about.)
I have a solution now and will try and remember to post a picture of my ammonite in a few weeks ❤️🙏

I hope you do post your 'new' tattoo. I've said before that I am not a fan, but I do appreciate the artistry. A neighbour has a beautiful, delicate ivy vine around her shoulders which is exquisite. Take care. xx

OutbackQueen · 30/06/2025 10:46

Although I won’t be back, please don’t anyone respond to @CuthbertStrange if she decides to wade in again.
MN are aware.

Sounds awfully ominous. Again, sharing health updates is not trolling.

DueyCheatemAndHow · 30/06/2025 10:53

@OutbackQueen good luck! I didn't see it you were going back to the same person again but an annemonite is a lovely idea xx

GreenGully · 30/06/2025 11:25

With respect the design is an awful one to start with. That kind of wishy washy colour tattoo never holds well and ages even worse. They end up looking like smudges or scars. I will say that artist has done you dirty though.

I'd have it lasered off or covered with a more robust design.
