Ainu to think Angela Rayners has been set up to fail on her 1.5m homes target ?
you can barely get planning permission through for a small extension in under 10 weeks let alone 1.5 m new homes
Every month that goes by the shortage compounds
I wonder if Kier has set her up to fail

She is expediting the planning process for new builds. They won't be put into the same category as extensions. So likely extensions pp will mow take longer.

I don't see what the issue is - she has the power to remove the barriers to pp being granted, and the powers to offer grants and incentives to house building companies.

Of course he has. She will be the fall guy. She’s a bit like Harris who was put in charge of the US border, when her handlers knew she had neither the intelligence, nor the political ability to get something like that done. Rayner is in same league.

Two Tier has his favourites. Rachel from accounts and Red Miliband. The former trashes the economy to give billions to the latter to piss up the wall. And the country just plunges deeper into oblivion.

Buckle up everyone. It’s gonna be a rough ride.

Have you looked at Rayners working history? As with Harris' both women were clearly the most qualified for their respective roles.

I've tried to point out the misogyny of "Rachel from Accounts" and the foul man who coined the phrase before and was shouted down. Apparently it's no different to "30p Lee".

It was never going to happen. I work very closely with social housing providers, they are very keen to build more homes but they simply don’t have the funds to build that many. There has been no increase in grant funding, all their cash is going on remediation works to their existing stock - cladding, damp and ESG targets. They’ve also been absolutely floored by increases to NI and NMW. Most of them have reduced their development plans. There are also simply not enough construction workers.

The faux outrage at OP’s title is simply a way to deflect attention from the fact that tis government is atrocious, even worse the last one. And Rayner is of low calibre and she’s being found out.
