From what I’ve heard with the current drama surrounding her I’m shocked. Did anyone’s opinions of her change?

ps this isn’t a bashing thread

OP posts:
IncaDove · 05/02/2025 13:15

Well I, and I assume you, do not know her so how can we possibly say?

LadyKenya · 05/02/2025 13:18

Nothing really, what I have seen of her in interviews, I would not want to get to know her, even if that was a possibility, tbh.

Purpleandgreenyarn · 05/02/2025 13:18

I’m not a fan of hers, but it’s irrelevant isn’t it- you can be the biggest dick and not deserve sexual harassment in the work place.

I have no idea if the chap is guilty, of course, but no idea if he is innocent either.

It’s why I really believe these cases should not be played out in the media, the courts should deal with it silently. There must be a way to ensure that happens. It’s the same in the UK. It’s really not in the public interest to know until it’s been through the legal system.

YeGodsandLittleFishies · 05/02/2025 13:21

I think nothing at all about a person I’ve never met.

Actors are, by the nature of their job very good at presenting any kind of persona they choose, so you can’t assume what you see on chat shows is real.

At the same time the internet makes it increasingly easy to smear someone’s reputation.

Judge the woman on her job performance, you don’t have any reliable data to do otherwise.

boulevardofbrokendreamss · 05/02/2025 13:22

Nothing to be honest,

Cosycover · 05/02/2025 13:23

Can't really say as of course I don't know her. But she has always came across badly in interviews, her coworkers have never really had anything nice to say and I think she is a shockingly bad actress.

Strawberryfruitcorner · 05/02/2025 13:24

I don’t form opinions on celebrities based on media headlines (from rag newspapers) and social media bullshit stories.

ColinOfficeTrolley · 05/02/2025 13:31

I don't and have never really thought anything of her. Used to like Gossip Girl back in the day, but beyond that, nothing.

I do believe some of the facts though

  1. Upon returning to filming after the writers strike, Justin Baldoni and his production company, signed a document that basically said there would be no MORE sexual harassment, acknowledging that there had been unacceptable behaviour in the past.
  1. JB hired the same company that Johnny Depp hired to trash amber herd, to start a smear campaign against her.
  1. JB has hired a lawyer who got a minor to settle out of court after being involved in a gang rape when he was a frat boy.

orangecocoa · 05/02/2025 13:36

An old friend works for her and her family. She has nothing but nice things to say about them.

Bornnotbourne · 05/02/2025 13:39

I don’t know but it end with us was the biggest pile of bollocks I’ve ever encountered and massively detrimental to lives of women worldwide. It’s

BrownSatchel · 05/02/2025 13:40

This whole BL and JB saga is quite trivial, I can't believe it has got so much traction even in the broadsheets. They both look bad and seem very fake with big egos and not much sense. Neither the fat shaming or sexual harassment was particularly horrendous, not ideal but scarcely scandalous, why didn't they just keep it private?

Never met her so don’t have an opinion.

XWKD · 05/02/2025 13:44

She strikes me as a nasty person, and did so before the sexual abuse allegations. That doesn't mean she deserves sexual abuse, or that she is lying.

Crispyturtle · 05/02/2025 13:46

Not sure about BL but Justin Baldoni seems like a complete twat

curious79 · 05/02/2025 13:47

Who knows what's really going on. Actors need to protect themselves. Personally I like her as an actress. Not Meryl Streep levels of talent but a familiar face. I don't care about all this Baldoni creepery

IncaDove · 05/02/2025 13:49

I posted on your thread yesterday about your job interviews. You were rejected by 2 companies. Would you want your whole character to be based on the strength of those two intbiews?

ColinOfficeTrolley · 05/02/2025 13:50

RainyDayApplePop · 05/02/2025 13:32

Yes. They are all 100% factual statements.

CherryPopShowerGel · 05/02/2025 13:53

I think she's a pretty mean person. The nasty comment she made to the interviewer about 'your little bump', choosing a movie about domestic abuse to promote her haircare brand (yes, she was advised to promote it in a light hearted manner rather than doom and gloom but to use it as an opportunity to hawk shampoo is just tacky). One of the many celebs that got married on a plantation. Now the texts from her to Justin Baldoni have been released it's clear she's behaving inappropriately, flirting late at night, and it comes across like she was hunting for an affair and harassing him.

Obviously none of us know any of them, but from what I've seen of her she seems like a pretty awful person.

It's quite interesting how all of this came out, people started to dislike her, then the new story was 'gotcha! we influenced you to hate her!' when actually the reasons the public tide turned against her were due to things she said and did of her own volition. Just smacks of PR honestly. The whole thing is bizarre to watch how easily led and hoodwinked people are.

afuckinggoat · 05/02/2025 13:56

People love to hate and scrutinise women. There are so many male actors who are far more rude in interviews and are perceived as charmingly cantankerous.

The message I take from this is that women should not:
-Give their opinion in a work setting, even if you think you have something valuable to offer, as men in senior positions might feel that you're stepping on their toes
-Call out sexual harassment
-Ever make anyone else feel uncomfortable, even if that is at your own expense. Even if you're tired of people commenting on your body all day when you're there to talk about your work
-Expect for people to believe them

This whole saga is making me feel like shit as a woman.

P.S. The studio gave clear guidance on the tone and messaging for the promos. BL was not disrespecting victims of DV. She, and the rest of the cast (other than JB) were following this guidance.

“Obviously none of us know any of them”. This is the only sentence in your post that is factually correct and it makes the rest of your post irrelevant.

ForRealCat · 05/02/2025 14:07

She's incredibly beautiful. That's all I "know" about her. The rest is a load of "he said, she said", I'm not possibly qualified to make a judgement based on that

HeadNorth · 05/02/2025 14:11

She's very beautiful with fabulous hair. That's it, really.
