From what I’ve heard with the current drama surrounding her I’m shocked. Did anyone’s opinions of her change?

ps this isn’t a bashing thread

I actually don't know reading it but BL and RR dont come across well. BL has been quite mean at times in interviews. However that doesn't mean she wasn't sexually harassed. Either way I hope the truth comes out.

Whattimedoyoucallthisthenhey · 05/02/2025 14:20

I don’t think she comes across well
at all, she seems to want to intimidate and thinks she’s funny, all a bit odd.
I also don’t think she’s beautiful or a good actress 😬

DisforDarkChocolate · 05/02/2025 14:22

I'm not a fan of her work. I'm baffled that her wedding to RR was at a plantation.

This current issue, I'm avoiding reading about it because I'm frankly tired of all the shit women face in Hollywood.

sweetpickle2 · 05/02/2025 14:22

I don't think it's helpful to try and draw someone currently involved in claiming sexual harassment into character assassinations, it's rarely done in good faith. Why have you posted this OP?

FeathersMcgraww · 05/02/2025 14:23

Yesterday I read through the entire website Justin Baldoni has published with lawsuit details and then a timeline of events along with receipts. It’s changed my opinion of her in a negative way.

TheKeatingFive · 05/02/2025 14:26

Whoever that PR firm are that Baldoni hired to trash her (just like Depp did to Heard) - they are as morally depraved as it gets.

It's sickening how easy it is to get society to hate women.

And this shouldn't be a PR battle. It should be a legal one, behind closed doors.

Workhardcryharder · 05/02/2025 14:29

CherryPopShowerGel · 05/02/2025 13:53

I think she's a pretty mean person. The nasty comment she made to the interviewer about 'your little bump', choosing a movie about domestic abuse to promote her haircare brand (yes, she was advised to promote it in a light hearted manner rather than doom and gloom but to use it as an opportunity to hawk shampoo is just tacky). One of the many celebs that got married on a plantation. Now the texts from her to Justin Baldoni have been released it's clear she's behaving inappropriately, flirting late at night, and it comes across like she was hunting for an affair and harassing him.

Obviously none of us know any of them, but from what I've seen of her she seems like a pretty awful person.

It's quite interesting how all of this came out, people started to dislike her, then the new story was 'gotcha! we influenced you to hate her!' when actually the reasons the public tide turned against her were due to things she said and did of her own volition. Just smacks of PR honestly. The whole thing is bizarre to watch how easily led and hoodwinked people are.

Minor point but getting funny about others getting married on a plantation is virtue signalling at best.

Presumably you say the same thing about churches in the UK, of which many are home to historic abuse?

Anyway, “the nasty comments” can you imagine your personality being judged on a comment you made once? Ridiculous and I’m sure you have made mean comments before too.

I’m a big fan of the Lincoln Lawyer & her character in that. I don’t think she has much to gain by lying or misrepresenting the truth. These kinds of accusations never elevate anyone’s career so something must’ve happened that crossed her line.
I don’t engage with the media on the topic. Most of what’s written is BS & headlines.

Lots of women are funny, she isn’t and it seems like she tries to be or tries to be intimidating/bitchy…I’m not sure, it just doesn’t come across well

TheKeatingFive · 05/02/2025 14:33

I was at the plantation that they got married in last summer. I didn't realise the connection until later.

It's a working farm and it handles its past very sensitively. Anyone getting outraged at this is looking for things to be annoyed about.

What did you find, to view her negatively?

AnonymousBleep · 05/02/2025 14:34

She's stunning, seems funny, is married to Ryan Reynolds, and some creepy little faux-feminist man tried to 'take her down' because she rejected his advances. My kids love Gossip Girl. That's it really.

I don't think I've ever actually seen anything with her in it so I'm surprised she's so famous. The media seems to be on a witch hunt for her at the moment, I don't see what she has to gain about lying in these claims against Baldoni. I don't see why she'd put herself and her family through it.

BobbyBiscuits · 05/02/2025 14:39

I've never warmed to her. But I've never actually seen her in anything. So I'm just going by gossip, celeb news etc.

This whole saga is quite fascinating though. At first I was horrified on her behalf when it first emerged, the things she had to 'ban him' from doing. Like who would think you'd need to have that in writing? He must be a jerk and an abuser?!
But what strikes me is the fact that her and her husband and their celeb pals have so much more clout and power in the dynamic of the making of that film. Like Baldoni was a complete unknown. He really needed her on side and it's apparent that he tried to adhere to her whims and allow her to co-direct the movie almost.

I'm not saying she didn't find him creepy and he did no wrong on set. But the fact is someone of her stature could have walked away. She's not the average young actress desperate for work, needing to please a big shot director. The balance of power was clearly in her favour.

Either way this whole situation will either make or break her career, and his. (Not that anyone knew who he was before this occurred)

ChocolatesAndRainbows · 05/02/2025 14:41

I think she tried to have a mans career destroyed and has had her arse handed to her.

I don't particularly like or dislike her if I'm honest.

Weefreetiffany · 05/02/2025 14:42

lolling at people thinking they know slebs beyond their crafted personas. This could be a straight up story out of gossip girl with poor sincere serena maligned and misunderstood by the gossips once again!

JLou08 · 05/02/2025 14:42

I don't know her so couldn't say. It think she presents herself very well and with grace, however, she is an actress so we don't know if that is the real her.
What I have seen is how easily people are swayed by the media. Videos are being posted, starting off with a caption about how rude she is. If you watch the video she isn't actually rude and no one accused her of being rude prior to the smear campaign. Those videos were around before then and she was viewed as a glamourous feminist with a good sense of humour. Yet, many people comment on the videos agreeing that she is rude. Their whole perception of the video is based upon someone else telling them how to perceive it.

StElse · 05/02/2025 14:43

Having read the transcript of the off-scene conversations on set, as well as the part where she had to outright refuse the addition of any more additional nude/sex scenes outside of the agreed script, I think it sounds like she was trying to politely decline JB's stupid, unprofessional behaviour. Then it sounds like she got a bit fed up.

I think she's coming across as a woman trying to get on with her job.

I have my own opinion of her as does everyone else on this thread, you are not disputing theirs?
It’s ok for me to think she isn’t funny and doesn’t come across well

Hadjab · 05/02/2025 14:44

She consistently slays at the Met Gala.

Outside of that she has borderline terrible dress sense.

She's an average actress.

That's pretty much what I think of her.

MyUmberSeal · 05/02/2025 14:46

HeadNorth · 05/02/2025 14:11

She's very beautiful with fabulous hair. That's it, really.

This. I watched the film, only thing I’ve watched with her in, I couldn’t give two hoots about her or Justin and what their beef is with each other. But.. I really liked, and am jealous of her hair.

MrsTerryPratchett · 05/02/2025 14:49

Crispyturtle · 05/02/2025 13:46

Not sure about BL but Justin Baldoni seems like a complete twat

Succinct.

I'd add that it doesn't matter what she's like. I believe JB behaved unprofessionally and men who do this need to be told.

I posted on your thread yesterday about your job interviews. You were rejected by 2 companies. Would you want your whole character to be based on the strength of those two intbiews?

What's that got to do with this post?
