From what I’ve heard with the current drama surrounding her I’m shocked. Did anyone’s opinions of her change?

ps this isn’t a bashing thread

Why would we need Blake Lively to be perfect?

The trouble is the Hollywood PR machine thrives off image so image matters.

wipeywipe · 05/02/2025 16:56

I think they are both fighting over their respective image tbh & both are going to lose.

She commented on her bump.

She congratulated her on her bump. Again I don't understand how that is offensive if a pregnancy had been publicly acknowledged but hey I also find it odd that people on here don't answer their doorbells!

That’s the same thing. Nobody has the right to comment on someone else body, and certainly not in a professional setting.

It’s not relevant that you don’t find it offensive. Blake Lively did and I would too. And you don’t get to say what I should find acceptable when it comes to my own body.

The vast majority of people won't give a flying. This is PR shit stirring at its worst.

I saw a movie that she did with Anna Kendrick and I thought she was fantastic. Otherwise I don’t know anything and I don’t care.

Thanks for reminding me, I loved that film, they were both excellent.

I was struggling to recall anything I'd seen her in apart from Gossip Girl.

People reading information info that JB released and are shocked that it supports his side of the argument. Do you hear yourself? You think that stuff won't be biased?

It's interesting that other then legal filings BL has not made a big deal of this. The articles are ABOUT her but not FROM her. She has all the support from the cast, was the one who obeyed the production company who (stupidly) wanted to spin a positive message for the film which allowed JB to do his dv morality tour making BL look tone deaf in comparison.

I keep hearing this bizarre argument that she 'refused' an intimacy coordinator. No. The text JB released, indicated that on one particular occasion BL didn't want to meet the intimacy coordinator. That isn't 'refusing'. She was 2 months post-partum at the time. I imagine she was busy.

I hope the court case can cut through all the bs because the average persons reading comprehension, lack of critical thinking, and basic mysogany on this is making me worry about humanity.

JB seems determined to throw so much mud in the well with these messages and video that prove absolutely fuck all and can be interpreted either way. I suspect he knows that the actual evidence produced by BL is pretty damning and so it trying to get the public on his side just like he did with the PR company hired specifically to smear her.

BL has the texts from the PR company proving that JB deliberately tried to smear her and ruin her reputation.

BL has the document from the meeting mid filming which illustrates all the unacceptable ways JB was acting on set.

Another woman in the production team similarly complain of him being inappropriate.

You could argue that none of these were real somehow but that would be spectacularly stupid from BL team to hang your court case on so I suspect they are real and they can prove they were real.

What actual evidence does he have? Fucking nothing but speculation, slander, and things that can be interpreted in one way or another. He's poisoned the well with the aforementioned smear campaign (that btw even the pr people were surprised went so well) that everyone is primed to hate her.

The only thing BL has done wrong is not be a perfect victim. Same old same old.

Yes. They are all 100% factual statements.
No. They really aren't. This is the problem. People believing everything they read and forming opinions about people they don't know based on those falsehoods

No but I can have an opinion on what is a proportion response to a question someone doesn't like. And when your career depends on positive PR public opinion matters hence why it's been discussed endlessly....

FoxtonFoxton · 05/02/2025 17:07

The only film I've ever seen her in is The Shallows, so I don't really know anything about her. Obviously I've seen all the drama with her co-star, but I've not read into it with any detail. Sounds a bit like it's six of one and half a dozen of the other.

Whoever that PR firm are that Baldoni hired to trash her (just like Depp did to Heard) - they are as morally depraved as it gets.

It's sickening how easy it is to get society to hate women.

And this shouldn't be a PR battle. It should be a legal one, behind closed doors.

This. I believe her.

You can have opinions on lots of things, but not on another woman’s body.

HermioneHerman · 05/02/2025 17:15

What do you think of Justin Baldoni? Why do we never see posts like this discussing the men involved in whatever (see Taylor Swift, Sabrina Carpenter etc etc).

And what you’re basically saying here is that a woman should accept comments about her body in case complaining damages her career

No. But you don't get to sue or ruin someone for saying something considered inoffensive just because YOU find it offensive.

If I find someone eating meat offensive I don't get to sue them or punish them because they haven't done anything wrong by societies standard. Just mine.

The world's gone mad!! The interviewer was congratulating her on her pregnancy, a pregnancy that had been publicly announced. It was a nice thing to do. Nothing more to it.

Is she suing the reporter?

And the meat analogy is so ridiculous I don’t even know how to respond to it.

arcticpandas · 05/02/2025 17:20

Thought she was a cute girl, average actress. Was very empathetic when I heard she's been treated badly by Justin whatshisface.

U-turn when I saw the video clips and messages exchanged. She's a bitch. I tend to root for the women but in this case I feel sorry for the man.

sanityisamyth · 05/02/2025 17:21

Who? I assumed it was a bloke from the name!

justteanbiscuits · 05/02/2025 17:21

Friend of a friend worked for her in a PA role - having worked for a number of celebs from film world. She only has really positive things to say about her (this is not true about most of her employers!).

IncaDove · 05/02/2025 17:22

I’m stepping away from this thread. You can’t argue with stupid.

wipeywipe · 05/02/2025 17:22

And what you’re basically saying here is that a woman should accept comments about her body in case complaining damages her career

Yes, that's definitely what I'm saying 😆

When you are a celebrity image matters, it just does, why else apologise for their wedding venue? What celebs say, tweet etc is picked up on. She could have easily responded with "i'm not comfortable with that" etc. Of course she is under no obligation too but in the interest of PR celebs are normally very media savvy with what they say. I don't particularly care how she responded as it's not that deep & everyone has an off day. I'm just acknowledging that the public will use things like that to form a judgement of your character rightly or wrongly. And that's exactly what has happened but you don't have to agree.

IncaDove · 05/02/2025 17:15

What I saw was Blake commenting on Justin's nose. She's not your average girl. With Ryan Reynolds she's way above Justin in the power hierarchy which She's very well aware of.

wipeywipe · 05/02/2025 17:25

That doesn't even make sense in the context of my reply but you're deluded if you think people don't have opinions on other people's bodies!

BurgundyZero · 05/02/2025 17:25

I have not seen any of her work. Some of her tweets are quite funny. I think her husband should fuck off out of football as stop treating Wrexham as his personal vanity money laundering project. It's monstrously unfair to normal clubs who can't buy their way to success.
