To ask how you pronounce Krispy Kreme?

I have always said Crispy Cream. That is what they were called on any American tv show I watched growing up.

Now they are mainstream in the UK I often hear people call them “Crispy Crem”

Which one do you say?

Oo, I've got my accents wrong - crème. They do look so unappealing though.

I went a conference where a high-up from Krispy Kreme was talking and he was questioned about the health risks of his HFSS (High fat salt and sugar) food. His response was that you needed to take into account the "mental health benefits" of a doughnut to get a rounded idea of whether they were good for you or not!!!

I call it Crispy Creamy.

I say Krispy Crem because if they wanted it to be cream surely Kreem is the spelling!

Of course there are posters tripping over themselves to lecture us about obesity on a post about pronunciation🥱

Yes even Krispy Kreamy is a logical pronounciation. The last E in Kreme is so silly if they want it said as Cream

I wasn't lecturing I was just explaining I call it crem short for crematorium.

I was only saying what comes in my head when I see them before I say crem. Didn't mention don't buy them just said what a pile of shit they are.

Krispy kreem but id assume a lot of the folk mispronouncing it simply don't know the brand from pop culture and are assuming its like the french word "crème", as in "crème de cassis" or "crème caramel". It's not really surprising as in a food related sense a spelling like that would usually be pronounced crem.

We have lost sight of the crem!

Because the K is weirdly extended it looks like joint funky accents for creme and when I saw Krispy written that way with a K, none of the other usual English language rules apply anymore. Additionally there is creme as a food ingredient and I think those donuts have a creamy filling. Lastly rules for names are different, people are quoting english language words like theme, but this is a business name and a non British business as well and in some names you pronounce the e at the end.
