I have always said Crispy Cream. That is what they were called on any American tv show I watched growing up.

Now they are mainstream in the UK I often hear people call them “Crispy Crem”

Which one do you say?

OP posts:
Moier · 03/02/2025 21:22

Crispy Crem.
Had them in Hartford Connetticut and they pronounced them this way.

abricotine · 03/02/2025 21:24

Krispy Crem 😂😂you are kidding me

HamandCheeseSandwich · 03/02/2025 21:24

Cream here, as PP mentioned the company say cream

HamandCheeseSandwich · 03/02/2025 21:25

I just don't understand why they have crispy in the name!

Well, they're wrong.

SwedishEdith · 03/02/2025 21:25

They look horrible to me so not something I'd say out loud very often but I would definitely be in Camp Crem.

LillyPJ · 03/02/2025 21:26

In my head, I pronounce it 'ridiculously overpriced doughnuts'.

Why? When it's spelled with an e on the end and no accent?

and the company themselves say cream

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 03/02/2025 21:27

Who are these weirdos saying crem?

sparepantsandtoothbrush · 03/02/2025 21:27

I always called them Krispy crem until my teenager laughed and corrected me recently. No idea why I thought it was that but assume whoever first told me about them years ago called them that!

Wheech · 03/02/2025 21:27

Cream but the spelling irritates me.

Luddite26 · 03/02/2025 21:28

I Always say what the fuck no wonder we have an obesity crisis selling this shit everywhere. Then I say crispy crem - cos that's where we will end up.

Because of crême. There's no logic but there's no logic to spell anything as Krispy Kreme. I'm only saying it in my head.

Thursa · 03/02/2025 21:29

Crispy cream. The name makes me feel a bit sick so I could never actually eat them.

Expensive luxury doughnuts are not the cause of obesity in the UK

EVHead · 03/02/2025 21:30

Crispy Crem sounds like a bad nickname for the crematorium.

And as PP said, are those people also talking about Crem Eggs? Or is the vowel sound different when it’s spelled with a “k”?

InDogweRust · 03/02/2025 21:30

Krispy kreem but id assume a lot of the folk mispronouncing it simply don't know the brand from pop culture and are assuming its like the french word "crème", as in "crème de cassis" or "crème caramel". Its not really surprising as in a food related sense a spelling like that would usually be pronounced crem.

VickyEadieofThigh · 03/02/2025 21:32

Always assumed it was Cream.

sometimesmovingforwards · 03/02/2025 21:33

Ha I’ve seen them but don’t think I’ve ever tried them or actually said the name out loud.
So not sure how I’d pronounce it 🤣🤣

MasterBeth · 03/02/2025 21:34

Yes, I have heard some idiots pronounce it "cremm" and yes, I have wondered if they say "cremm eggs".

Of course it's pronounced cream. It's obviously a way of alluding to cream without being allowed to say cream. "Cremm" my arse.

All the shit piled up on every turn is though. I remember when all you got from. Petrol station was fuel. Our local has a Greggs, a subway, a Krispy creme, Costa plastic tubs of sweets absolutely piled all the way to the till then a Starbucks KFC and burger king across the forecourt. It's all a symptom of the obesity crisis cos junk is everywhere in your face. Luxury donuts ? You are having a laugh.

RaveToTheGrave1 · 03/02/2025 21:35

Cream, from an American

AndThereSheGoes · 03/02/2025 21:37

Crispy Crem.

Do you think it might just be the accent?

ERthree · 03/02/2025 21:41

Crispy cream. Crem is Sudocrem.

AndThereSheGoes · 03/02/2025 21:41

Hahaaa, 6 Valentines donuts for £16!!
A fool and his money.....
