Actually, two things.

  1. Put a close up of the label or a hint of fabric as the main picture, like a teaser, instead of a nice clear photo of the whole garment. I can’t be bothered to click on it to find it’s something I wouldn’t have clicked on if you’d just shown me the whole thing in the first place.
  2. Only post one picture or two really bad pictures. Just don’t bother.

Any more?

Sometimes you can get bargains because everyone else has scrolled past them for this reason.

2025willbemytime · 22/01/2025 17:59

Sometimes the photos are posted in the wrong order

AKettleOfDifferentFish · 22/01/2025 18:00

Post a knitted item without showing the care label or fabric composition. So, it's presumably 100% acrylic/polyester then... in that case why not just say?

Asvoria · 22/01/2025 18:02

Some people haven't got any common sense and don't think that a poor photo will put people off. It happens with jewellery on eBay as well - fuzzy photos of diamond rings 🙄

This is how to find the real gems.

ConstantCringing · 22/01/2025 18:22

People who don't know the difference between leather & plastic.

Screamingabdabz · 22/01/2025 18:23

And when they don’t show you the whole garment - just bits of it.

ZaraSpellman · 22/01/2025 18:25

I also scroll past boxed or packaged ones can’t be bothered to click to find out what is in the box

Crojo · 22/01/2025 18:26

'Has a few stains/marks. Should wash out'

Nope, I'm not wasting my time and money on something potentially fit for the bin.

KitchenDancefloor · 22/01/2025 18:27

I scroll past the ones that don't mention what the fabric is.
Natural fibres are essential during perimenopause.
And no I don't believe you if you say it is silk from Primark!

NikkiAlexander · 22/01/2025 18:30

Say it's BN or BNWT and upload a photo of it being modelled 🤦🏼‍♀️

PercyFone · 22/01/2025 18:38

If you're selling a handbag, give measurements. Pictures with nothing for scale make it impossible to guess the size.

NewPhase23 · 22/01/2025 18:40

If there's a picture of the seller wearing it. No thanks.

Nanny0gg · 22/01/2025 18:41

A screwed up rag on a hanger or 'arranged' on the floor or bed

Moier · 22/01/2025 18:45

Manky feet in sandals 🤢.
Plenty of life left..will put someone on ...big NO!
Bit of bobbling...but hardly can tell.
NO! Just no .
I throw out my own clothes that have bobbled.

ThejoyofNC · 22/01/2025 18:45

List it as new without tags and write "worn once" in the description.

SparrowFeet · 22/01/2025 18:53

I want to see the care label and composition. Don't list it as 'silk' because it's 'silky' - it's not the same thing.
I also tend to scroll past photos of nights out or standing in messy bedrooms. Probably missing out on a bargain but such is life.

MrBallensWife · 22/01/2025 18:56

When it looks like it's been scrunched up in a ball for the past 5 years, then hung on a coathanger/flung on the bed or floor to be photographed.

LittleRedRidingHoody · 22/01/2025 18:57

I agree it can be where the deals are, if you look. Whenever I upload I do it to clear out the cupboards/wardrobes and can't be asked to take a load of pics, so it's always one pic per listing. The flip side is I price everything really low to ensure it goes fast/because I know it's not 'marketed' amazingly. And it does go, normally the same day!

Same here. Everything is like £1-£2!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 22/01/2025 19:00

Me too @LittleRedRidingHoody although I do list if something is 100% cotton . I take a couple of pics only, unless it's a branded or more expensive item.

I had some pictures rejected and my listing was rejected because they were blurry the other day so obviously vinted doesn't allow blurry pics which I didn't realise. (They weren't actually blurry just my lens was dirty)

Also ‘has a small hole’ and pic shows it’s on the front and really obvious. Like, some things can be recycled.

WhatsitWiggle · 22/01/2025 19:10

List as "very good condition" when it's clearly not.

SmallBox · 22/01/2025 19:16

'Only selling because I've lost weight and it's too big'

Oh thanks love, some of us are still that size!

Clarastah · 22/01/2025 19:32

Put a picture of shoes but no size for them.
