Actually, two things.

  1. Put a close up of the label or a hint of fabric as the main picture, like a teaser, instead of a nice clear photo of the whole garment. I can’t be bothered to click on it to find it’s something I wouldn’t have clicked on if you’d just shown me the whole thing in the first place.
  2. Only post one picture or two really bad pictures. Just don’t bother.

Any more?

I report these posts. Annoyingly, half the time Vinted says no rules have been broken.

I used to report the obvious scam ones fairly regularly but have stopped bothering. Vinted acted on about 50% of my reports, despite them being blatantly obvious.

Tbh, if they cant be bothered then I'm not helping them.

@SmallBox 😂😂

Anyone have issues with children's size. If I filter to age 4, half will be 3-4 and half will be 4-5. Which one is it supposed to be?

Age 4 should be 3-4. This is how single sizing in shops work (e.g. Next, Matalan, etc) even though it seems wrong. When the height is printed it will always be in line with the higher number (e.g. if a double size 3-4 was 110-120cm and 4-5 was 120-130cm then the single size 4 would say 120cm - so it will fit a child wearing 3-4 but will be too small for one that needs 4-5). Hope that makes sense!

I have never used the phrase 'ffs run an iron over it' so much in my life before downloading Vinted

A screwed up rag on a hanger or 'arranged' on the floor or bed

Most people don’t have mannequins lying round the house!

I don’t buy or sell on Vinted but DH and DD do. I think that when you are basically shopping an online version of a jumble sale, you should expect that you get a wide variety of item quality. It’s up to you to sift through it. If you don’t like that, go to a shop where it’s definitely new stock and hung up nicely. No one is forcing you to look at every listing!

Hit a nerve love? 😂

Kibble29 · 22/01/2025 23:00

Kids clothes hung on adult hangers. Makes them look terrible.

Any photo with feet in it.

Birch101 · 22/01/2025 23:02

Biggest bug bear is when people post a cloth ing size e.g. 3years and the label photo says it's 2-3yrs grrrr

A slightly different Vinted annoyance - when I've saved something to come back to later and I immediately get a message from the seller along the lines of 'hi hun, I can get this posted out to you today, just make sure you order now or it will go'

It really puts me off, and in spite of myself as I could probably get a decent bargain, I un-save it and don't reply.

I think it's the 'hi hun' especially that makes my teeth itch.

Same here! Immediately unfavourited.

NewPhase23 · 22/01/2025 18:40

If there's a picture of the seller wearing it. No thanks.

I actually prefer this to get a sense of how clothes might fit. I wish there was a filter option to just see clothes being modelled.

Shoes when you can't see them from the side, to see heel height, the type of heel or wedge and if they're worn

Equally, shoes without showing the sole, so you have no idea how worn they are.

Related to that, the flexible interpretations of what good/very good means. I've seen "very good" trail running trainers with the lugs worn nearly all the way down 🙄

People who write "girls' jumper" or "boys jumper" but don't bother to put the size. I need the size not your opinion on what gender it's for.

Another one is "has a rip but doesn't effect use" . Ugh on two counts

It’s also really irritating that Vinted doesn’t have a category for unisex kids’ clothes - you’ve got to choose!

Choccyp1g · 22/01/2025 23:10

Time40 · 22/01/2025 22:31

Sellers who don't give measurements for items that really, really need them - which is actually most sellers. Saying a pair of jeans are size 10 or size 12 or whatever means next to nothing. I need to know the waist measurement, the rise measurement and the inside leg length. Why don't people just measure their bloody clothes? Is it really so hard?

You could say the same for all online stores. Actually you could say almost all of the criticisms for many on-line shops.

You can change your settings to not allow the sellers to be notified when you favourite an item

Just untoggle the notify sellers tab.

Now that is a public service!

Highly patterned item of clothing camouflaged on a background of someone's highly patterned duvet cover/carpet. Or on top of a pile of other items so it's not entirely clear what's included.

Pyjamas in 'very good' condition yet on arrival the waistband has worn through to the elastic.

ClementsR2024 · 22/01/2025 23:35

ThejoyofNC · 22/01/2025 18:45

List it as new without tags and write "worn once" in the description.

Absolutely this - I wish they would allow a thumbs down function for this.

Really annoying.

Doitrightnow · 22/01/2025 23:36

Similar to the people annoyed by children's clothes sizes, I find the shoe sizes absolutely infuriating. Why do they have categories for infant 3.5, 8.5 and 11.5 but no other half sizes?! So if I'm looking for, say, 6.5 I have to look at all the size 6 and 7 listings. Grrr.

It annoys me how so many people on there call any old crap silk, but then call velvet or satin "velvet-type fabric", "satin-like material", etc.

"Hi hun" (pun intended)

I HATED THIS!

go into your settings.
You can set it so sellers don't get notified when you save their ite. To your favourites. Life changing!!!

Manky feet in sandals 🤢.
Plenty of life left..will put someone on ...big NO!
Bit of bobbling...but hardly can tell.
NO! Just no .
I throw out my own clothes that have bobbled.

But manky feet in sandals might sell to the right people eh 😂😂🤢🦶🦶

I scroll past the ones that don't mention what the fabric is.
Natural fibres are essential during perimenopause.
And no I don't believe you if you say it is silk from Primark!

Saw someone claiming to have got a cashmere cardigan from primark on vinted. 😂

ServantsGonnaServe · 22/01/2025 23:53

A picture showing the person wearing the item, especially strappy shoes 🤢

TypingoftheDead · 22/01/2025 23:57

Not used Vinted in ages, and only ever sold on there, so my only complaint is the person who paid for something, then asked if I could lower the price! I’d already listed it for less than half what I’d originally paid.
