And German politics and just focus on the President he’s already paid for and turning X into a toxic wasteland.

Sorry... 'both sides of the debate'!?

There IS no debate. According to the court documents, what happened to these girls was nothing short of barbaric.

We should all be happy that someone... anyone... is calling Starmer to account.

You do know Starmer was DPP when the Oxford grooming gang (which those court papers refer to) was prosecuted, tried and convicted in 2013?

What exactly do you want him to be held to account for?

LlynTegid · 03/01/2025 12:29

I wonder what Elon Musk would think if we expressed our view about lack of gun control in the US?

Jumpingthruhoops · 03/01/2025 12:31

randomchap · 03/01/2025 12:22

Starmer was elected in via a legitimate legal democratic process. And you are cheering on someone trying to overturn that? Shame on you.

No shame on me, love. I'm not the one freezing pensioners to death! 🤷‍♀️

Blimey, support for child grooming gangs and granny killers all on one thread!?

That's a new low, even by MN standards.

Neolara · 03/01/2025 12:33

You know how Nigel kept banging on about how we needed Brexit to save the UK from being controlled by unelected elites. And looks like he's delighted to be supported by, and to receive money from Elon. Just saying....

It's interesting that Elon Musk and his cheerleaders weren't so exercised by this issue when there was a Tory government in Westminster.

MrsRobinsonsHandprints · 03/01/2025 11:23

What? Shutting down free speech?

Elon is needed more than ever because of people like you who only want one particular narrative discussed.

How does Elon musk manage to walk with all you sycophants dragging behind him with your tongues up his arse

Betchyaby · 03/01/2025 12:40

I assume this in retaliation to the other Elon thread. Creating your own echo chamber.

I see you are ignoring my post above @Jumpingthruhoops
The reiterate:

The court papers you referred to that have been all over Twitter were from comments made by Judge Peter Rook QC on 27 Jun 2013 on the Oxford grooming gang case.

ETA: Mohammed Karrar, who is the rapist mentioned in the court papers, was given a life sentence of at least 20 years

Starmer was DPP at the time the prosecutions were made.

What does he need to be held to account for?

ChardonnaysBeastlyCat · 03/01/2025 12:42

I suppose he should stay out of it.

Then again, Labour should have stayed out of the US elections, so I’m
Finding it hard to get too upset about EM.

It isn't ideal but it is better than any other platform at the moment. He allows criticism of him and trump etc he doesn't ban people for rejecting 'group think'

The fact that someone on here things the other post should be removed is exactly what is wrong with the left at the moment.

I am afraid you have also been indoctrinated if you think his platform is there to support democracy and freedom of speech. Also, anyone who challenges this is clumped as “the left” or “woke”.

Just like the right are labelled racist bigots. Everyone is given a platform on X which is how freedom of speech should work. All other platforms employ censorship including on here.

Abhannmor · 03/01/2025 12:51

He is a bit less discreet than Rupert Murdoch isn't he? The latter has been a malign influence on UK politics for decades. Elon gives the game away.

User135644 · 03/01/2025 12:52

noblegiraffe · 03/01/2025 12:15

I don't think people have ever been particularly happy with Murdoch's control of the media?

Well the Tories and New Labour were happy to go along with it.

Jumpingthruhoops · 03/01/2025 12:52

It's interesting that Elon Musk and his cheerleaders weren't so exercised by this issue when there was a Tory government in Westminster.

If what you say is true, you should be pleased Musk is now giving the issue more widespread attention.
Sorry, but I can't see any negatives in someone highlighting horrendous, historic child abuse.

Of course... because that's SOOO much more important than the two other things 🤦‍♀️

Pinetreethree · 03/01/2025 12:56

Definitely. Musk is absolutely not highlighting these crimes for the sake of the children involved, that much is clear.

User135644 · 03/01/2025 12:56

Abhannmor · 03/01/2025 12:51

Nobody became British Prime Minister without his approval first. If they didn't have his approval and ran for PM they'd be destroyed.

The Tories and Blair danced to his tune every time. Even the decision to invade Iraq was influenced more by Murdoch being all for it more than the millions marching against it.

Cnidarian · 03/01/2025 12:57

Anyone who thinks Elon Musk stands for free speech should look into his use of private investigators and the campaign he waged against the diver who rescued those boys from a Thai cave who dared to write one slightly disparaging tweet about him. See also how he treats mother of some of his children Grimes. He doesn't stand for free speech, he wants complete control of the narrative.

WidgetDigit2022 · 03/01/2025 12:57

YANBU. He’s bad news.

Coolasfeck · 03/01/2025 12:58

User135644 · 03/01/2025 12:10

The establishment are evil. At least Musk is his own man.

How can the richest man in world history (who owns all 3 branches of American politics, the richest country in the history of the world), not be The Establishment?

Serpentstooth · 03/01/2025 12:59

You'd think the US was large enough to contain his massive roaming Id but apparently not. Spoilt man-baby poking a wasps nest with a stick to see what happens.

LizTruss · 03/01/2025 12:59

I think that we have demonstrated that we can screw up our own politics with the need for assistance from outside the U.K. Thank you very much.

Apples and oranges. Tory , Labour and Liberal interns have been working with various overseas parties for decades. Not quite the same as the world's most powerful oligarch instructing people which way to vote.

ShesNotACowShesAFox · 03/01/2025 13:00

I think it’s great influential people are taking about about child sexual abuse, even if you don’t like that person. Labour are disgusting in their fob off approach and need to be called out
