What? Shutting down free speech?

Elon is needed more than ever because of people like you who only want one particular narrative discussed.

And this is just batshit

Combattingthemoaners · 03/01/2025 11:24

But the problem is he really does give a monkeys. If it wasn’t him it would be someone else. Walking blindly into modern oligarchs corrupting elections.

Freedom of speech? But only the speech supported by his algorithms

Annabella92 · 03/01/2025 11:26

Sure. As long as the Open Society Foundation and all the international NGOs stay out of UK politics. But I imagine you don't actually mind their involvement. Don't pretend you give a rats arse about the nation state when it suits you because 99% you're quite happy with it. You reap what you sow. Enjoy.

It isn't ideal but it is better than any other platform at the moment. He allows criticism of him and trump etc he doesn't ban people for rejecting 'group think'

The fact that someone on here things the other post should be removed is exactly what is wrong with the left at the moment.

Ah, another on first name terms. You’re so obvious.
Free speech? 🤣🤣🤣 such bullshit.

noblegiraffe · 03/01/2025 11:29

Tweeting 'Free Tommy Robinson' just shows what an utterly shallow assessment of any situation he will have before he is willing to post to millions about it. Nigel Farage must be nervous as Musk posting 'Vote Reform' and 'Free Tommy Robinson' in the same day is not a good look for Reform who are trying to market themselves as a proper political party and not just a bunch of racists. If he does now accept a donation from Musk, it will be tainted by that association.

Expressing opinions is fine. Using your vast wealth to try to influence elections is not. Putting pressure on the head of state to dissolve an elected government is not.

Hilarious! Elon doesn’t give a fuck about free speech. He is interested in interfering with our democratic processes. Our democracies need safeguards from people like musk.

Elon ruined twitter - which was a fantastic place for free speech. He doesn't give a shit about free speech. He wanted twitter to be a more divisive place and it is.

He has an agenda, and it won't serve anyone else but him.

We have free speech in this country, we have a free press, and there's normally interesting back and forth here. Not the brigading that you're doing.

probably that you're a little bit crazy to berate him for buying a Tesla 🤣

And from the people he buys!

lillylallylu · 03/01/2025 11:31

@Gatecrashermum Twitter was a great place for
free speech before Musk? Seriously? Which version of Twitter were you using, cos mine deleted people for saying that women don't have penises before Elon came along.

People use their vast wealth to influence elections ALL the time. It is an utterly mundane fact. You only care or notice when it doesn't suit you.

Community notes have been an excellent addition.

Twitter was only a place for left free speech.

There has always been interference from wealthy parties, people must realise this.
