And German politics and just focus on the President he’s already paid for and turning X into a toxic wasteland.

Do you mean like how the uk doesn't stick its nose in everywhere else

AlwaysRight1985 · 03/01/2025 20:20

I don't know what's more worrying, the OP on the other thread thinking it's the opposition's responsibility to get things done rather than the government in power at the time...

Or....

The number of posters who think that Elon Musk is American...

He’s a US citizen I believe.

We had a democratic election. Apartheid Man may not like that but to try to overturn that to put in his preferred party is not an option.

Yes, we had an election. But he's not the only one disappointed in the current government's performance. Perhaps if we had good strong, well performing Government he'd 'fuck off'?

Doubt it. Unless it was Reform.

BIossomtoes · 03/01/2025 20:27

Actually scrub that, if it was Reform he’d be pulling the strings.

Oh yes, because he just cares about our country right? Who appointed him? We didn't vote for him. He has nothing to do with the UK.

Hopefully by the time of the UK election the situation in the USA will be quite evident and people won't be so silly as to want it over here.

Fluffyholeysocks · 03/01/2025 20:33

I don't want Musk interfering in UK politics just as much as you. What I want is a strong leader, democratically elected from any party the electorate chooses. I want a competent cabinet, inspirational leader and an electorate that are confident any difficult decisions made by the ruling party are for the collective good. I don't see that with this bunch of lightweights.

LikeWhoUsesTypewritersAnyway · 03/01/2025 20:34

Completely agree @Birdscratch It's boiling my blood to be honest. What the fucking hell has UK politics got to do with Musk?! He honestly acts like he rules the world. He doesn't! His opinions are worthless over here, and so is he. He holds no weight whatsoever.

He is posting on Twitter/X about how 'no-one wants Keir Starmer for Prime Minister and the UK needs another General Election!' He is as bad as Trump who was convinced that the election was a fix because it wasn't the result he wanted!

Fucking idiot he is! Hmm

I rarely post on Twitter/X now. Probably 10 posts in the past 6 months. It's a shithole now.

AlwaysRight1985 · 03/01/2025 20:40

Not to mention someone thinks a non-UK citizen can be a UK MP 😂

Oh and the fact that Musk claimed one in 13 of our teenage girls here are right now being groomed by gangs....

SpringIscomingalso · 03/01/2025 20:42

I honestly do not know what he is going to
Just like many of his pals, talking up and down roads
The caravan goes, the dogs keep barking

BlueSky is much nicer. I never look at X now.

hedgehogsinthehedgerow · 03/01/2025 20:42

We already have a democratically elected leader. Some may not like him, but plenty of others disliked Boris Johnson/Liz Truss/Suella and co. That's democracy.

Yes, and he's terrible, we can see that and the rest of the world can see that. I want a leader who garners respect worldwide not derision.

Eh

Fluffyholeysocks · 03/01/2025 20:50

Nope, the world deserves better. Not sure how we can attract intelligent, competent and charismatic people into politics but we sorely need to.

Well I'm afraid that is not how democracy works - we had a general election, people voted and the Labour party won.

lillylallylu · 03/01/2025 11:31

@Gatecrashermum Twitter was a great place for
free speech before Musk? Seriously? Which version of Twitter were you using, cos mine deleted people for saying that women don't have penises before Elon came along.

I'm not sure the current situation is any better considering the horrendous levels of racism and anti-Semitism I see on X now, much higher than before and reporting it doesn't seem to make the slightest bit of difference.

Plenty of misogyny as well, but no change there.

Musk is not on the side of women.

I want to live in a democracy. Not a banana republic where democratically elected governments are replaced every two business days at the whim of foreign billionnaires with an agenda.

Goldenbear · 03/01/2025 20:52

Yep, another 4 years of a lacklustre, uninspiring, bunch of lightweights. Maybe in the next four years someone of 'quality' will appear. I doubt it. I can understand why people don't want to go into politics. Seems only people who shouldn't go into politics are the only ones choosing it as a career.
