Sorry what? Confused

Translation: Not sure what Elon M is doing trying to meddle to UK politics
UK politics is like a caravan of camels which goes and will go, no matter which dogs ( people like E Musk) will bark or not

What I don't understand is that he is asking for Starmer to resign and another general election because of the lack of justice and inaction of the government over the Rotherham rape gangs, why is he doing nothing about Epstein and P Diddys victims? It's feels like at attempt to destabilise the UK government

He is posting on Twitter/X about how 'no-one wants Keir Starmer for Prime Minister and the UK needs another General Election!'

I'm not surprised;

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/politics/keir-starmer-labour-poll-incompetent-dishonest-b2672383.html

It doesn't matter what the polls show right now. There is not going to be another GE. Musk and his worshippers will have to wait until 2029.

CandlesClementines · 03/01/2025 21:37

@MrsRagnarLothbrok epstien is dead.
His main accomplice is in prison.

Prince Andrew is still evading justice but settled with his accuser.

P Diddy trial starts in may so he shouldn't comment yet

People use their vast wealth to influence elections ALL the time. It is an utterly mundane fact. You only care or notice when it doesn't suit you.

yep, so many of us come from countries where all this is historic and daily fact

MonkeyVsBunny · 03/01/2025 21:40

Never underestimate an autistic with a vendetta

the over reach of progressive authoritarianism is entirely to blame for trump, Farage, Mellon, LePenne - AFD - all winning.

musk can and will “destroy the woke mind virus”.

There are at least four very obvious reasons how there could be an election in the UK way before that. 2025 or 26 - latest.

I don't care. He's a hero in this house. Not Sir Starmer.

he’s very very keen on it and given he’s the richest man on earth and quite good at changing the world I’d say he has a more than 50% chance of doing it.

he did get trump elected after all. Farage is child’s play.

Reform well set to form a government in 2029 but Trump will be gone by then.

Trump and Elon want Nigel as PM and Reform in place during the Trump administration to get the special relationship back.

We can't afford 4 more years of this government as a country.

It would be interesting - Britain and the US both going right wing together

There is no way Labour will last another 4.5 years.

there are many reasons for an early election.

top 8 reasons. 2. 6. 7. 8. Are the most likely. 2 the very most likely I would say caused by AFD or another party winning in Germany leaving the UK as the biggest supporter of Ukraine and is ending ina minor shooting war with Russia which we pull out of before NATO kicks in.

  1. Lost Majority: The government loses its majority in Parliament, making it difficult to pass legislation.

    1. Political Crisis: Major scandals or crises lead to calls for fresh leadership and public trust.

    2. Strategic Timing: The ruling party seeks re-election while its popularity is high.

    3. Parliamentary Deadlock: Persistent stalemates make governing untenable.

    4. Defections or Rebellions: MPs defecting or rebelling can destabilise the government.

    5. External Pressure: Significant public or political pressure for a new mandate.

    6. Vote of No Confidence: Parliament passes a no-confidence motion in the government.

    7. Prime Minister’s Resignation: A new leader may seek legitimacy through an election.

PandoraSox · 03/01/2025 22:05

If Musk wants Farage to be PM, he needs to stop endorsing Yaxley-Lennon.

PandoraSox · 03/01/2025 22:01

And those reasons are?

Things could become untenable for Starmer quickly. He's got a democratic mandate but he keeps doing exactly what he said he wouldn't do and therefore doesn't have a mandate to do. And his personal ratings are horrendous.

Labour would have the option to choose another leader post-Starmer (as Tories did post-Boris) but they might be better off calling an election as Reform aren't ready yet to form a government (they have 4 years to prepare now) and start getting the numbers they'd need and candidates etc. If they cling on like the Tories did for the 5 years then they could get wiped out.

None of those seem likely considering the government's huge majority. There has been some desperate digging for dirt on Starmer and his cabinet, but nothing has come of it.

No way will Labour be out of government by the end of 2026.

I don't think Starmer can last long on his current approval ratings which are dreadful.

Labour does not have a “huge majority” stop repeating that quite obvious lie.

30% of the people who voted is no majority.

That didn't stop Keir Starmer's wife protesting in the wake of Trump's inauguration in January 2017;

https://www.hamhigh.co.uk/news/21363338.pictures-keir-starmers-wife-joins-camden-group-womens-march-london/

How is that relevant? Did her protests bring about an early end to Trump's administration? They didn't and neither will Musk's actions bring about an early end to Starmer's administration.

Labour have a massive majority. You're not going to get a no-confidence vote in the government. We've seen from the Tories that the Prime Minister resigning just means another PM from the same party, same as scandals and crises, and external pressure for a new mandate would be very odd given that we've literally just had a general election.

The constant suggestion that the Labour government are on the brink of collapsing is just wishful thinking.
