Been on a few of dates with a colleague. Not had sex yet, was internally planning on it.

When discussing sex a few days ago, he sort of pre warned me that he lasts notoriously long. Usually not far off an hour.

I know, men say this to show off. But he said it knowing that I was soon going to find out. Plus, it was prompted by me saying that sex over an hour is too long for me.

AIBU or is that a ridiculous amount of time? I don't want to be having sex for that long?! I feel like cutting it off already, before having to endure that.

Wow I'm surprised to be in such a minority with liking long sex sessions. We do at least 45 mins and then go again for another 30 after a short break. We alternate with oral and fingers and also do various positions so he wont come tooooo early for me. I thought everyone did that to get maximum enjoyment but now I see not!
We use lube though as otherwise it would probably be too much.

This is the important bit. It’s fine to like a “long sex session” (although I find it described that way a bit awkward) but this guy doesn’t want that - he needs an hour of humping to finish.

It’s a bit like a wedding speech. Wedding guests look forward to hearing the groom’s speech but there is a point where it should finish (I think 10 to 15 minutes is about right). A groom’s speech that lasts for a full hour stops being interesting and moving - even good public speakers stop being fresh if they talk for that long.
