How many take aways is too many?

I think we definitely slipped into too many after tonight.

The delivery driver asked me if I'm ok/if everything is ok , because he hasn't seen me in a long time.

Ooops.

I'm on first name basis with the Dominos guy 😂

Oh! And, if I forget to order extra garlic and herb sauce, it turns up anyway.

Oh I always get some kind of freebie too. I stopped ordering the sauces because they put them in anyway.

Not sure we've got there yet. Dp just ordering the third one this week, 2 McDonald's and a kebab. It will be Indian tomorrow and full English Sunday morning

I also wondered what he would've done if something was wrong and I answered with some kind of dramatic /tragic story to his question.

That reminds me of when I was 18/19 and out clubbing like 3 times a week, I went on holiday for a fortnight and the man in the kebab shop said he had been worried about me when I went in after

We get maybe one every month or two. I can't believe you all get multiple per week 😱 It must cost a fortune!

Well to me it sounds like you've not having ENOUGH takeaways. The driver is missing you!

We usually get 1 a week which I feel is way too much!

We cook such healthy meals for the kids - always from scratch and low salt (also low sugar and low spice!). I really crave the takeaways for flavour and also because I’m so bloody sick of chopping veg! I hope it balances out overall but it’s not cheap.

Are you worried on health or financial grounds or both

Reframe it. It's not 'just having another takeaway' (guilt) its 'helping the delivery drivers Mental Health by seeing me' (good contributor to society).

Wow those of you who order them regularly, do you not mind spending that much money on food that's usually kind of average? I have ordered a curry tonight for 3 of us and it was £54 - I certainly can't afford to do that more than once every few months.
Also they give me heartburn and I always feel grim the next day. I'm only doing it as dc loves it!

DH and I used to have an Indian/Chinese every fortnight or so but just can’t justify the cost any more. Having one tomorrow night as it’s been a busy week and we’ve barely seen each other so a nice treat. Will probably have another one just before Christmas but that’s unusual.

Intrigued to know what the multiple takeaways per week people are spending!

After some debate, it's now a line item in my budget 😂

We used to have one about once a week and maybe a breakfast.

We can't really justify the cost anymore sadly 😔 So we have freezer tapas on a Friday now.

Though DP and the DC are having a takeaway tonight funnily enough as I am off out to a wreath making class with a bottle of mulled wine!

We knew we had to rein it in when DH walked into our regular chippy and our usual order was already wrapped up waiting for him because they'd seen his car coming.

Same as cats, yarn, books and anything else people like.

We used to get Christmas cards from all the local takeaways when we were in our 20s and kid free. Now we're middle aged parents we can't afford it financially or weight wise sadly. It's a once a month treat.

Our neighbours have at least one a day. Then they go for a couple of with hardly any, then it's back to at least one a day.
