Why are people boycotting Boots? Are you?

For full disclosure I haven't seen the advert yet, but I'll probably end up searching for it if I don't come across it naturally during viewing in the next few days.

I've seen the #boycottboots and have worked out it's to do with their new Christmas ad. What's the issue? Are you boycotting Boots or do you think people are overreacting?

Randomly choosing the poll options simply because as stated I've not seen the ad so I don't currently have an opinion either way

No I'm not. I love the ad. It's my favourite christmas ad atm.

As far as I can tell, people are upset because there's a black woman in it.

I'm also woke and proud.

I hadn't seen it so just went to find it on YouTube... I can't see any issue myself, I like it! But if I had to guess what people's problems are, knowing what society is like at the moment, I'd say it could be any of the following:

• racist people not liking that it features a woman of colour
• feminists thinking it promotes women doing all the labour for men (although I'd call myself a feminist and don't think that)
• men thinking that this is some kind of anti-male agenda

I short, people get offended for all sorts of ridiculous reasons

Have googled, being boycotted as "Mrs Claus" is black so nope, will definitely not be boycotting

No, no it's not.

Nope. I hadn't seen it so just watched it. I can't see how anyone could reasonably be offended unless they hold prejudices which are outdated and discriminatory to be honest. I'm pleased I just by chance happen to have put a large order in with Boots this week.

Definitely not boycotting. What a load of fuss about nothing.

I'm a pretty GC feminist and I can't see a problem with the advert, it's sensitively and cleverly made to market make up to anyone who uses it

It's because the black woman who is in the advert, said that the royal balcony at one of their many tax payer shindigs, was too white.

Tommy Robinson type supporters got very offended by this, so are boycotting boots because this black woman is in the advert.

Pretty fucking pathetic when she was only stating the obvious.

That's different though. Drag queens aren't everybody's cup of tea, it's not comparable to racism or oppression.

Fuck me no! I'm not boycotting Boots because of racists. And it's not an over reaction, it's racism plain and simple.

Like most I've more pressing problems in life to contend with.

I've heard the rhetoric.
It's apparently because there's no white people in it and a lot of lgbtqia++ people. I'm not sure. I didn't zoom in and hold the dulux colour chart up next to the screen nor check for bulges.

I've seen it. Doesn't bother me. Not boycotting.
