A leaked French medical report from 2023 has confirmed that Algerian boxer Imane Khelif is male.

Top endocrinologists found that Khelif has XY chromosomes, no uterus, internal testicles, and a "micropenis."

The report was drafted in June of 2023 via a collaboration between the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital in Paris, France, and the Mohamed Lamine Debaghine hospital in Algiers, Algeria. Drafted by expert endocrinologists Soumaya Fedala and Jacques Young, the report reveals that Khelif is impacted by 5-alpha reductase deficiency, a disorder of sexual development that is only found in biological males.

Deflection. Usually comes after denial. Classic case.

"Khelif failed two sex tests including one he commissioned himself, former trainers say he's a man, men hug and carry him like a man, he's a man."

"NO! NOT CREDIBLE! NOT PROVEN!"

"Credible and proven. He's a man."

"WELL WOT ABOUT SERENA WILLIAMS AND LADY DI THEN!"

classic case … why though?

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 04/11/2024 17:44

Exactly. People will come up with anything to excuse cheating males. Surprised they didn't mention Michael Phelps too like has been trotted out.

The safety and right to fair competition of the women opponents should be paramount first and foremost.

BUT CLOWNFISH

Just because he has a micropenis does not entitle him to beat up women and steal their sports prizes. Surely they will strip him of the medal he wrongly received now.

The ioc knew he was male when they let him beat those women up. They won't remove the medal he stole because his passport has a F on it and that's all the proof of being a woman that the ioc requires

AccidentallyWesAnderson · 04/11/2024 17:48

The Mirror celebrity section 😂 and Snopes. Two little articles from 2010. Yeah I really don’t think this is the thread for you.

Not sure what that has to do with a cheating male in women’s sports but you do you.

Helleofabore · 04/11/2024 17:48

Veryoldandtired · 04/11/2024 17:32

The International Boxing Association's (IBA) recognition as the global body for the sport was stripped on Thursday by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) due to its failure to complete reforms on governance, finance and ethical issues.

I mean what has been confirmed 100% is that Imane has a medical condition. She’s a woman with a rare medical condition. Likely, this condition has been exploited in one sense or another. I think it’s fair to say that she shouldn’t be allowed to compete with women based on her karyotype but I think it’s unfair to call her a man without any proof. There’s no actual proof that she has testicles and a mini penis. It seem to have resurfaced now as she’s gone pro. One day we’ll know for sure, until then people will speculate.

And people said the same thing about Semenya who still to this day declares their 'internal testicles don't make them less of a woman'.

As I said, you can continue to try to discredit the information that is out there.

Would you like to discredit Dr. Ioannis Filippatos (Surgeon, Sport Medicine Doctor, and Ob/Gyn Specialist) and tell us why he is not to be trusted as having faithfully reported the truth?

Or do you now expect a person who has denied permission to publicly release their medical test results to allow these to now be released? It isn't going to happen. And nor should it. We have enough information despite you wishing to caste doubts on what is out there already.

If the information is forced in court, as Semenya's was, then yes, we will know for sure. However, if Khelif wanted to finish all the speculation, Khelif would have allowed the IBC to release the information when they asked to.

Your posting about them being stripped of IOC status is frankly laughable considering the corruption history of the IOC who you have now put in a higher position of reliability than the IBC. Sure, we know the IBC was removed from the position in the IOC because that is how this came about!

FFS! There are posts on this thread that explain the history of the IOC and them allowing males with DSDs into female sports categories because they prioritised inclusion above fairness.

And language accuracy is crucial here. "a woman with a rare medical condition" misleads people to believe that this person is female.

oakleaffy · 04/11/2024 17:49

Just by looking at him one can easily see he has a strong male body shape.

It’s no surprise he’s genetically a male. (XY)
The medals 🏅 are meaningless as were unfairly won against XX females.

That is precisely my point! 😉 the OP’s choice is no better. There hasn’t been a credible source stating that she’s a man

Helleofabore · 04/11/2024 17:50

Did Gaga fail sex testing by a sporting authority that disqualified her from competing as a female?

Seriously, what is the relevance here.

Hunglikeapolevaulter · 04/11/2024 17:50

She’s a woman with a rare medical condition.

Bloody rare indeed then given that it only affects men.

Again ... what? 🫠🫠🫠

Why can't people concentrate on the case in hand - why this obsession with dragging random names into it?

Desperation and gaslighting.

Nobody's falling for this activist rubbish anymore.

Yep! 5ARD absolutely only ever is found in MALE people.

There's an array of evidence, all already quoted, that you are determined to dismiss.

So let me ask you, why is it so important to you to support men who want to cheat and beat women? 🤔

My point is Serena is a women that imo looks manly because she has a really big muscular body that is very unusual on a woman . IK also has a big muscular body and looks very manly because of it. I don’t think there has been any credible evidence to date that IK is a man.

You are basically sticking your fingers in your ears and going "lalalalalalalala" loudly rather than face the reality that the majority of us have known for some time.
Serena Williams does not look like a man, she has never been mistaken for a man by anyone with half a brain

Tell me you haven’t read the thread without telling me you haven’t read the thread.

Two independent tests did that this man failed to appeal when disqualified.

You need to try a bit harder.

If this person has 5-alpha-reductase deficiency, this is a genetic condition which only affects individuals with XY chromosomes.

What definitions of 'woman' and 'man' are you using here?

Indeed - these effects only occur in XY males.

Women can inherit both genes that result in the lack of 5-alpha reductase too, but it is not necessary to their development.

They just might be less hairy and are unlikely to suffer from acne 🤷‍♀️

Quite.
It’s reprehensible and extremely unsportsmanlike for XY to compete against XX in sports like boxing .

Helleofabore · 04/11/2024 17:55

I think we have a poster here who is now pulling the 'you can't call this male boxer a 'man' ' tactic.

In other words, some people will concede that Khelif is 'male' and shouldn't compete as a female, but will continue to insist that Khelif is a 'woman'.

It is the Semenya cycle that we go through all the time. This will not change. The only way to push back seems to be to use 'female' and 'male', otherwise we will end up in the endless cycle.

PriOn1 · 04/11/2024 17:55

An interesting and usually overlooked point, is that the other male boxer, whose name I don’t even remember has not received much publicity at all.

The main reason Khelif has caused such controversy is that he put photos of himself online where he was obviously dressed in men’s clothes and was clearly going through life with all the male advantage that comes with living in a country where men have a great deal more freedom than women.

Had there been pictures of him online showing he was dressing and behaving like the women in his country of birth, people would not have been so angry with him. He dropped himself in it by behaving like an arrogant man and fully deserves all the attention he is getting. Presumably, for him, the medal, money and infamy are worth it.

Slothtoes · 04/11/2024 17:55

NRTFT but what is IOC saying and doing about this? Was this male person allowed to fight against women fighters because he said he was a woman (in which case this news changes nothing and IOC need ti look at their sexist policies again).

Or was the male person competing against women because the IOC thought he was biologically female? In which case, this is devastating news, they need to strip medals and re award and apologise profusely to all the women in the competition. And of course change the policies that had allowed him in.

NonPlayerCharacter · 04/11/2024 17:56

Veryoldandtired · 04/11/2024 17:47

classic case … why though?

Why what? Why do so many people deny absolute objective reality when it doesn't uphold a man's delusions and is in favour of female safety and equality? Why do so many people argue by assertion, say "no it's not" in the face of clear evidence, go off on irrelevant tangents about Serena Williams and beauty standards and think nobody notices? I don't know, you tell me.

Hoppinggreen · 04/11/2024 17:57

headstone · 04/11/2024 17:03

Well I think there might be a little bit of racism in this IK saga, unless it’s proven she is actually man, certainly I’ve heard some awful things said about her country which most people couldn’t even find on a map. I also thought Lady Di looked a bit manly , I know that might upset even more people!

Just to get this straight.
A MAN, an actual MAN who has been said to be a MAN by medical doctors is actually a woman because you think that one of the most famous women in the world "looked a bit manly" and a well known black woman who has given birth looks like a man too?

Namechangeforadhd · 04/11/2024 17:58

RobinEllacotStrike · 04/11/2024 17:11

@headstone what you seem to be ignoring/missing is no one here cares if a woman looks like a man.

We are objecting to ACTUAL MEN competing in womens sports.

what about that can't you understand?

Absolutely. And other things I don't care about:
The fact that a few women are bigger and stronger than some men. This is elite sport. Elite females can compete against elite females; they can't realistically compete against elite males because too many males will win due to population level biological differences.
The fact that life is unfair generally so just because, say, basketball players are tall, that's equivalent to males being in the female category. No it isn't. No one has a right to compete at Olympic level. Within a female basketball team, the individuals will all be tall for females. Many will be taller than non elite basketball playing males. Irrelevant.
So much whataboutery.
