A leaked French medical report from 2023 has confirmed that Algerian boxer Imane Khelif is male.

Top endocrinologists found that Khelif has XY chromosomes, no uterus, internal testicles, and a "micropenis."

The report was drafted in June of 2023 via a collaboration between the Kremlin-Bicêtre hospital in Paris, France, and the Mohamed Lamine Debaghine hospital in Algiers, Algeria. Drafted by expert endocrinologists Soumaya Fedala and Jacques Young, the report reveals that Khelif is impacted by 5-alpha reductase deficiency, a disorder of sexual development that is only found in biological males.

Having being punched in the face by an average height and weight woman and having being punched in the face by a 6 foot 3, lean man I can tell you I'm not surprised at all by this. Only one of them gave me a black eye and broke my jaw and it wasn't the average woman.

Her opponent in the Olympics quit the fight because she knew what would cause her significant harm and I don't for a minute think it was based on prejudice, but a sensible measure for self preservation.

Edited

I hope you are a boxer, otherwise I am so sorry that you have had such rough luck! Flowers

This. He clearly knew he was a man but enjoyed beating up females in the boxing ring. IOC should hang their heads in shame and demand his medal back.

The "beating up females" is a bit hyperbolic. It's boxing ffs, and the goal is to win by punching your opponent.

On the basis of your comment, then the women competing and winning obviously must "enjoy beating up women" also.

While it seems obvious that Imane should not compete in that category again, there has to be some compassion here for someone that has lived all her life as a woman and only latterly discovered that, technically, she is not and that moreover the only thing she "has" is to be lost at the same time.

I never hear how unfair it is that 7' 6" basketball players have an unfair advantage over 5' 10", regardless of the sex of either.

Perhaps we are wrong to split sports (if boxing is a sport) into categories based on weight, height, age and sex. Perhaps there is a more inclusive test that would balance out the dis/advantages we're born with.

Just to clarify. The IBC is not the 'Russian boxing federation'. And the results were also verified by the European Boxing Confederation.

The International Boxing Association's (IBA) recognition as the global body for the sport was stripped on Thursday by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) due to its failure to complete reforms on governance, finance and ethical issues.

I mean what has been confirmed 100% is that Imane has a medical condition. She’s a woman with a rare medical condition. Likely, this condition has been exploited in one sense or another. I think it’s fair to say that she shouldn’t be allowed to compete with women based on her karyotype but I think it’s unfair to call her a man without any proof. There’s no actual proof that she has testicles and a mini penis. It seem to have resurfaced now as she’s gone pro. One day we’ll know for sure, until then people will speculate.

Ereshkigalangcleg · 04/11/2024 17:33

Tearing a woman (unless proven otherwise) down without any solid proof based on hearsay (which originated from remarks made by Russian boxing chair, hmmm. Not like Russians have some vested interest in Olympic committee failures, right?!)… I mean … it all screams sensationalism doesn’t it?

Are people honestly still attempting to push this line? Give it up, that ship has sailed.

Veryoldandtired · 04/11/2024 17:33

Reminds me of when people used to say Lady Gaga had a penis…

The truth is hard to face, huh? Female boxers consent to fight females. Not males. That's what makes this so appalling.

And why would we be wrong to split sports by sex? There was a reason for that in the first place - has it gone away?

CabbagesAndCeilingWax · 04/11/2024 17:36

Everyone involved has always known this. These tests were carried out years ago, and Khelif accepted the results without fuss. The IOC just decided that these results can still mean "special female".

ForYouAndForMe · 04/11/2024 17:36

Finding it sad that fairness, honour and respect seem all outdated now having given way to cheats and liars. I can see how an individual might seek to get away with such hypocrisy and dishonesty bit the Olympic committee? Utterly corrupt. Maybe women should start their own olympics. Without men.

Why can't people concentrate on the case in hand - why this obsession with dragging random names into it?

Namechangeforadhd · 04/11/2024 17:36

He's a man. That is why a pro-woman media organisation is willing to put itself in the line of fire publishing this, but most mainstream media outlets, more captured by the patriarchy, won't.

No, it's a male DSD.

Beating up females is exactly what it is. And none of us have any idea whether IK lived all/any period of their life as a woman, at what point they discovered the XY chromosome or even how they currently identify. Not that it matters.

Also, the reason you don't hear about unfairness in height is because we don't have different height categories for basketballers. Whereas we do for sex, for weight in some instances, and for disability. That means we need mechanisms to define and measure those things. By all means take to the barricades to argue for height categories in basketball and for the featherweights to fight the heavyweights, but I'm not sure you'll have much company.

JFC just stop. It's sports. It's competitive. We play with our bodies. The only thing that keeps it safe and fair is division by sex and weight class.

The absolute mental gymnastics to enable these effing men to steal women's rights, wins and money just enrages me.

Women and girls deserve their own spaces, services and sports without men in them.

NonPlayerCharacter · 04/11/2024 16:36

There has been so much of this all over many media for a long time and Khelif could disprove it all with a quick cheek swab and releasing the results.

What source would you accept?

Exactly. The medical information cannot be released (rightly) without Khelif's consent. Khelif has the results of three chromosome tests, one of them back in 2022. Any of those could be released to the public, or another one done, and that would put the issue to bed, but he is choosing not to do it. Why is that? It doesn't take a huge leap to guess the reason why. Especially as he had a private chromosome test performed, and when he got the results withdrew his appeal against his disqualification from IBA competition, forfeiting results and prize money for that year. If they proved he was a biological female there'd be no reason to do that.

TheKeatingFive · 04/11/2024 17:41

Any other random, innocent women's names to drag in?

So far we've had Serena Williams, Princess Diana, Lady Gaga, Miranda Hart?

Anyone else to drag in as a distraction?

If this person has 5-alpha-reductase deficiency, this is a genetic condition which only affects individuals with XY chromosomes.

What definitions of 'woman' and 'man' are you using here?

Deflection. Usually comes after denial. Classic case.

"Khelif failed two sex tests including one he commissioned himself, former trainers say he's a man, men hug and carry him like a man, he's a man."

"NO! NOT CREDIBLE! NOT PROVEN!"

"Credible and proven. He's a man."

"WELL WOT ABOUT SERENA WILLIAMS AND LADY DI THEN!"

Exactly. People will come up with anything to excuse cheating males. Surprised they didn't mention Michael Phelps too like has been trotted out.

The safety and right to fair competition of the women opponents should be paramount first and foremost.

they have even more of an advantage over 5 foot basketball players too.

you are spectacularly missing the point though.
