Who has time for seasonal bedsheets

Absolutely not here to cause offence butttttt

Shops are filled with seasonal decor - I understand maybe a Christmas cushion or even a Halloween door mat but who has the time for seasonal bedsheets? Do you use them all year round? Who looks at your bed? I've seen Halloween ones, Xmas, even Easter. I just don't get it!

I’ve got the Christmas bedding on right now. It’s the spare set in our house!

AutumnLeaves24 · 21/10/2024 23:10

Don't think it takes longer to put printed sheets on or something ?

Silvertulips · 21/10/2024 23:11

It’s the storage surely?

What a waste of time.

HermoniePotter · 21/10/2024 23:12

I have spring, summer, autumn and Christmas bedding and decor. It’s my choice and it’s not harming anyone. I’m not sure what the issue is tbh.

Edited to add, do what makes you happy, you only live once.

Topseyt123 · 21/10/2024 23:12

I don't have any seasonal bed sheets. I couldn't be arsed with that.

We just have our regular ones all year round in this house. 🙄

buffyfaithspike · 21/10/2024 23:13

I just pick what I like and use them most of the year regardless of what's on them
Halloween theme is my general decor Grin year round

Motheranddaughter · 21/10/2024 23:14

Well the bedding in our house gets changed weekly and it takes no more time to put the Christmas bedding on at Christmas than putting normal bedding on 🤷‍♀️

AhBiscuits · 21/10/2024 23:15

It doesn't take more time.

NobodyGivesADamn · 21/10/2024 23:15

Christmas bedding - December Only

hoarahloux · 21/10/2024 23:15

Hahaaa I bought the OTT Catherine Lansfield mushroom and owls duvet cover and I will use it all year round.

middleagedspreading · 21/10/2024 23:17

Oh definitely me :)

TY78910 · 21/10/2024 23:18

No of course it doesn't take longer to put on patterned sheets, and 100% whatever floats your boat and makes you happy. I just always find myself walking past them in the shops thinking you use them for a month or so and then what? And when it's time to wash do you then break the theme or you have multiple? So many questions 🤣

I've got our Christmas bedding on atm too, it's also our spare set as we only own two duvet covers. The Christmas one is plain white, but has a "tufty" Christmas design on it, also in white, so it's quite subtle.

I am eyeing up a nice new autumn one though. As for who looks at my bed? I do. I like my bed to look and feel nice and cosy, especially when it's getting colder and darker.

I think the same about Halloween door mats. Changing my bedding is pretty regular though! In the summer my winter bedding is just spares, no extra effort

buffyfaithspike · 21/10/2024 23:21

I have a hocus pocus door mat but it stays year round
Halloween is great for stocking up on my decor theme Grin

Who has time for seasonal bedsheets
DangerMouseAndPenfoldx · 21/10/2024 23:24

I am a fairly slovenly housekeeper by MN standards, but still have winter bedding. It goes on at the beginning of December and gets used (in rotation) until about end of Feb.

As for who looks at it … the people who inhabit the bedrooms. I would have thought that but was obvious!

MyOtherCarisAVauxhallZafira · 21/10/2024 23:26

Brushed cotton for me now until spring , so I guess that's seasonal

Gingernaut · 21/10/2024 23:26

I've got three sets

Cream
Black
and a red, white and green set printed to look like it's been knitted by a giant

Normally, I rotate between cream and black, but during the winter months, I drag out the winter green and have a fluffy red fleece blanket too

hoarahloux · 21/10/2024 23:27

I change my bedsheets often enough that it doesn't bother me to store a few extra ones for special occasions. Although I can do a wash and dry in one day, which in a previous situation wasn't possible.

I don't have special christmas ones because I'm a scrooge.

TY78910 · 21/10/2024 23:29

Okay so the subtle patterns and plain ish colours I get - it's the GIANT merry Christmas Santa on a candy cane I question 😂

@TY78910 ye gods!! I barely have time for a christmas tree!!!

Xiaoxiong · 21/10/2024 23:31

I have seasonal bedsheets, as in, matching the seasonal weather so brushed cotton and tartan flannel in winter and linen and cotton in summer.

TY78910 · 21/10/2024 23:32

Well yeah there's that! I probably have the brain space just enough for a plain pumpkin at this rate. Not even carved 🤣🤣🤣

Better things to spend my money on than seasonal stuff.

I would rather spend £100 on quality bedding to use all year than £15 on polyester crap and get one week of use out of it.

Wn38475 · 21/10/2024 23:33

I got my kids Christmas bedding years ago. We use it all year round - just put it on when the other stuff is goign to get washed. So it’s not wasteful or difficult - it’s just a duvet cover and pillow case that is fun at any time of year
