Don't nicknames just 'happen' ? It doesn't sound great and probably won't catch on.

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 01:24

Why?

PearlFawn · 13/10/2024 01:26

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 01:24

I'm sure she does.

I'm sure she does.

what do you mean

OP posts:
HighlandsExpat · 13/10/2024 01:44

Lolo doesn't make sense to me... someone will ask what her real name is and you'd assume it would be something like Lolita or Louise. Definitely not Charlotte!

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 01:44

PearlFawn · 13/10/2024 01:41

what do you mean

Have a lively personality, obviously.

C'mon you know Lolo sounds like a working girl.

Do you love your daughter?

Don't call her Lolo then.

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 01:46

Why would you call your daughter Charlotte, and then actually call her LoLo?

Why?

TheRomanticOutlaw · 13/10/2024 01:47

No, don't like it.
What does she want to be called, is it her choice?

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 01:48

PearlFawn · 13/10/2024 01:39

What does she want??

TheRomanticOutlaw · 13/10/2024 01:48

Charlie? Lottie?

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 01:50

Has she asked for a nickname?

I have a name that is shortened. I hate it. Call me by my name.

Putfa · 13/10/2024 01:50

lolo sounds like a dogs name. As she’s high school age, I think asking her friends to call her Lolo will be a hard sell.

Floatlikeafeather2 · 13/10/2024 01:52

Hello Charlotte. Don't call yourself Lolo, dear, it sounds silly and affected. Anyway, I really think you should be asleep so night night. I won't say anything to your mum.

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 01:50

I misread that as iolo - pronounced like ilo and thought it was really cool: not Lolo so much but iolo?

GraceOMalleyReturns · 13/10/2024 02:01

Don’t nicknames just kind of happen? You don’t just announce what your nickname is to people who have known you for years. That’s just asking for kids to take the piss out of her.

MumChp · 13/10/2024 02:01

Whatever you like

LibertyCaps · 13/10/2024 02:03

It's absolutely a not OK scenario where your mother gives your nickname.

Ohh OP.

Exactly. Choosing a nickname for yourself is never going to work. Certainly not something like lolo which sounds like a dog or a character in a children's book.

Why doesn't she start using Charlie or Lottie

tolerable · 13/10/2024 02:45

chazzer. ...is the only one wurse than lolo.
