To think pooing in the shower is disgusting

According to my DD who read an article somewhere, over 1 in 10 people poo in the shower! Can this actually be true? Aside from being disgusted by this, I am intrigued as to what happens to it afterwards. Surely it would take a lot of effect to get it down the plug hole? 🤣

In my younger years I worked as a part time cleaner, I can unforunately believe this. Men's toilets are DISGUSTING. Honestly, it made me really lose hope for the male species. My DH is very particular about hygiene luckily, he won't go in most Male toilets.

I'm talking poo on walls (how), commonly spread all over the seat, the floor, poo on Taps! I'd say 30% of men didn't wash their hands after a poo either. Female toilets are honestly like the Ritz in comparison.

Someone I know used to work as a cleaner in a very posh five star hotel in London. She said she has to clean poo numerous times not only from a bathtub but from bed linen sometimes too! Not just an accidental streak but an intentional poo log on a bed. I couldn't believe how disgusting some people can be.

Having camped at festivals for decades I can say its really not rare to find a shit in the shower. It is disgusting, its part of why I prefer to stay dirty until I get home - I can deal with dust and my own sweat but Im not willing to tap dance around someone elses slowly dissolving watery turd.

I imagine those people don't do it at home in their own shower though, at least I hope not... I always assumed it was a 'dirty protest' of how awful the porta loos normally are.

I think I believe this of some people, but I really don't want to believe it at all. My DD cleans the rooms in a local hotel and has had to clear up shit before. Not always in the toilet either and housekeeping team not informed at the time of the accident either. Just left for them to find. Having an accident is one thing. Not informing housekeeping and just leaving it for your cleaner to find across the floor, in the bed etc. is quite another.

I can believe that toddlers and some people with illnesses or certain medical conditions might have the odd accident in the bath, shower or elsewhere.

Friend works in a posh hotel and says men regularly leave a turd in the shower. Sometimes they pop back to the room to 'accidentally' find her cleaning it up. Apparently it's a thing.

Oh God, I have just remembered, I went into the loo on a train a few years back and there was poo smeared EVERYWHERE. How anyone could produce so much poo in one go I cannot understand. But smearing it everywhere? The poor cleaners. Disgusting.

I have worked in several universities and talked with campus services/ cleaning teams about things like this. They have to deal with some really horrible things. I’ve been told that students shit on toilet floors, on toilet seats, and in the washbasins in their bedrooms, leaving it for cleaners to clear up. It wouldn’t surprise me if they shit in the shower.
Male students that is. I don’t believe that 1 in 10 people do it but I can believe a reasonable proportion of men do.

When our neighbour sold his house it turned out he didn't even have a toilet (the new owners renovated it to rent out and we got chatting) so he clearly did everything in his shower 😭

On a campsite several years ago, the showers had to be closed because someone had shit in one of them....
Adult only site so no kids to blame....

Can't help but think ppl who do this must have some kind of fetish. Like when burglars poo in their victims' houses. Or maybe the thrill of being caught? There are some very sick individuals out there.

If they're shitting in the sinks in their bedrooms then it's easy to identify the culprit. I'd be leaving it there till they returned and making them remove it without gloves. Revolting.

Nobody does that. Maybe if they've explosive diarrhea and they're trying to clean it off then more bursts out? But I can see if it was a statistic for pissing. I reckon some people do that. I can't say I've ever done so on purpose but once some kind of leaked out?
