I hear you.
But have you wondered what is safe for trans people?

Stop deflecting.

What is a trans woman?

ChungKing · 25/09/2024 10:37

Why would a trans spaces not be safe for them?

PiggleToes · 25/09/2024 10:22

Have you wondered why “ third spaces” might not work for trans people? Is it possible that this wouldn’t protect their safety and dignity? Could you think of any reasons why this might be?

Edited

Tough. Ultimately. Trans people either use third spaces. Or stick to the space corresponding with their natal sex.

I'd like them to answer why transwomen would not feel safe or dignified undressing in a third space with other transwomen.

Leniriefenstahl · 25/09/2024 10:38

@ChungKing so you’d treat a trans female who’s had gender reassignment, looks like a woman, has lived as a woman (whatever that means) for years as a man ? To their face ? If that person attempted to enter a female loo you’d stop them ?
(I don’t necessarily agree that they are a woman btw, they’re a transwoman but I do wonder how this would be policed).

MissScarletInTheBallroom · 25/09/2024 10:39

PiggleToes · 25/09/2024 10:32

But has it occurred to you that trans people might also just want to get changed in safety and dignity? Have you wondered what that looks like for them?

If what that looks like for them is getting changed in the presence of unconsenting women, and making those women feel unsafe and uncomfortable in a women only space in their place of work, then quite frankly I couldn't give a fuck.

They need to find a solution that looks like something else.

“Tough”?

So safety and dignity for trans people isn’t actually a legitimate concern?
We have lost our point of consensus that there should be safety, respect and dignity for women; as well as safety , respect and dignity for trans people?

look at this language creep. It’s deliberate.

Still men.

TheKeatingFive · 25/09/2024 10:40

Why would transwomen need biological women present to maintain their 'safety and dignity?' Why would that be necessary?

Why would does it feel justified to you to use women as support humans for men?

I'd like that person to have enough respect for women not to enter women's loos in the first place. It's not women's job to stand up to members of the opposite sex who might harm them in some way.

They are men. What's wrong with treating them like the thing they are? I wouldn't try to stop them no, because as a 5ft petite woman I'd be concerned for my safety to do so.

It shouldn't need to be policed. They should respect women's boundaries.

Frankly it’s not women’s problem if mentally ill men don’t feel safe in men’s single sex spaces they should campaign to sort that out.

Men really don’t like it if women won’t do their bidding.

That means THIRD SPACES.

You cannot ensure the safety and dignity of both women and trans women IN THE SAME SPACE.

It's not possible.

If they are in the same space then you are not ensuring the safety and dignity of the women.

Why is this so hard for you to understand?

I hear you.
But have you wondered what is safe for trans people?

I have wondered why trans organisations are so determined to trash the social contract and render women and girls unsafe by advocating for mixed sex showers, changing rooms, toilets and hospital wards etc.
I wonder why the safety of women and girls matters so little to trans groups.
I have noted the dismissal of 3rd spaces because it makes men sad not to be able to use women for validation purposes.
And I note the complete absence of any targeting of men to be kind and inclusive and safe towards men who believe they're in the wrong body. Instead it's always women and girls (as usual) being targeted to give up their hard fought for right to safety, dignity and privacy from unknown men.

Why do you think this is?

Dweetfidilove · 25/09/2024 10:43

ChungKing · 25/09/2024 08:25

It's amazing to me that some people will claim no man would possibly become a "transwoman" in order to upset women or worse. I mean how many men trained as priests to get access to children (a much bigger commitment than simply changing one's pronouns)? A bit different, but serial killer H.H Holmes built a hotel with all kinds of horrific modifications so he could access and dispose of his victims as he pleased. Men have a long history of going to huge lengths to access victims, so why is it unthinkable and impossible than some men would use trans as a trojan horse? Not all, but some?

Exactly! The mind boggles 🤦🏾‍♀️

WHY DOES ENSURING TRANS WOMEN'S SAFETY AND DIGNITY REQUIRE THEM TO HAVE ACCESS TO UNCONSENTING NAKED WOMEN?

ChungKing · 25/09/2024 10:43

Why does their safety and dignity trump women's? Again, why would they not be safe and dignified in third spaces with other transwomen?

Females who identify as trans are trans men.

Female has a specific meaning which does not include anyone male. Trans women are male, Biologically it is impossible for them to ‘become’ female no matter how much body modification surgery they have they will never be genetically female.

Most of us agree, third spaces for these people, however well they pass. But demonising them all as dodgy potential perverts is ridiculous.

Here's a further question for you then.

Imagine we created third spaces for trans people, at enormous public expense, and they then refused to use them and continued to use spaces for the opposite sex instead?

Then what?

ChungKing · 25/09/2024 10:47

Leniriefenstahl · 25/09/2024 10:45

I don't think they're all dodgy, and I have said so in this very thread. But, some of them are, and the ones who are demanding female spaces are even more suspect than the average.

Why do you think so many of them don't want to accept third spaces, which have been suggested as a solution by many women like me for over a decade? it's either because they think every woman on the planet should validate them or because they have bad intentions.
