Ballerina farm - just fell down a rabbit hole

Just fell down a rabbit hole looking at this Instagram account. Of course it can't be true or surely even close to it? I feel so sorry for her, she seems too tired to even smile most of the time. She prides herself on being a servant to her family but it doesn't look like she enjoys it. Also 8 kids by 34? Anyone from or have a ginormous family - what's your experience of living with so many kids/siblings? Does it look like this? Surely the woman has cleaners and although she "helps out" on the farm, they will have a huge amount of staff no? I don't know why I'm obsessed with this this morning...maybe I'm bored of the Kardashians now!

Not looking them up - is that the Mormon mum? There was an article here in the crappy news in Aus about how she's working herself to death

YouveGotAFastCar · 28/07/2024 10:20

12 people a year get into that dance school. She’ll probably forever look a bit sad and vacant - she’ll never get that back. There is literally nothing she can do to reverse that decision.

EmpressaurusDeiGatti · 28/07/2024 10:22

There was an interview in the Times, meant to be with her but the interviewer never got a chance to talk to her properly. Sharetoken link.

I saw this on TikTok. Left me confused on if it was a more satire account or not.

braaaiiins · 28/07/2024 10:25

Is this the same one that was selling branded products as from their farm for extortionate prices that turned out to be from somewhere else vaguely in the vicinity of there? I saw a YT video about it but I've never come across their content directly.

I think she’s a victim of abuse by her husband.

I agree

If you read the article, it's clear (when the interviewer can get her on her own) that her wishes and desires don't align with her husbands. That she was only able to have pain relief in labour for the one childbirth her husband wasn't there for being one.

The interview also points out a number of occasions when she checks herself when her husband is close by. That is, when he isn't answering for her

qwertyasdfgzxcv · 28/07/2024 10:36

I've been following her account for a while but I never thought she was compromised or abused.

Doingtheboxerbeat · 28/07/2024 10:41

The husband stalked her by buying her a flight with his money/connections sat next to her on said flight, spent time, money trying to woo her, got her to give up her dreams to be with him on his farm 😭.
He eventually succeeded in wooing her, and now she gets a crappy apron for her birthday/anniversary gift 🥴.

I got all this from a single tiktok video - I don't watch her content, so I have no idea how true any of this is.

Is there evidence of that? I admit I don’t know a lot about them, but I thought this was her whole thing, doesn’t she push the trad wife crap online?

Yes he totally love bombed her and then they got engaged I think after 3 months of dating(?) Wasn't entirely clear on the timescale but that's what I took from the article

@Naunet yes there is - what is mentioned in these posts for a start

qwertyasdfgzxcv · 28/07/2024 10:46

She is one of 9 children herself so I don't think a large family is alien to her

qwertyasdfgzxcv · 28/07/2024 10:48

@AssassinsEyebrow is the husband wealthy? Do we have reason to believe she isn't happy though? I wouldn't mind living on a large farm, loads of space and kids and being able to stay at home due to income from being a successful influencer.

hopeishere · 28/07/2024 10:48

It's playing at farming though. His family is loaded so it's like a hobby. They're not actually worried about turning a profit.

You could read the article.

Her sister has 10 children and the grandparents 58 grandchildren! They're Mormon in addition to the trad wife thing. She took part in a beauty pageant in Las Vegas 12 days after giving birth and dragged her dying grandfather there to watch her! The whole thing is messed up.

AssassinsEyebrow · 28/07/2024 10:50

Amazed at the people suggesting it's not abuse because she's part of the trad-wife influencing set

Naunet · 28/07/2024 10:50

Mumsnet posts aren’t evidence! I’m not disputing what you’re saying I’d like to read more about it, including the evidence. I’ve read the article linked but there’s nothing in there that heavily indicates it (keeping in mind that this seems to be the lifestyle she willingly picked for herself and promotes to others, so deferring to her husband could simply be because she’s a trad wife).

Lammveg · 28/07/2024 10:51

From what I read they don't have staff apart from a cleaner once a week or something. He didn't want them to have nannies.

I am alway skeptical of these things because- are they portraying themselves in this way to get more engagement on their content?

I do think the Mormon faith has a lot to do with this though, they 'leave it to God' to decide if they have more kids which sounds like they don't use contraception. So easy for the men in these relationships.

Mega wealthy - his family own the JetBlue airline.

She’s not a SAHM based on influencer money, she’s married to a multi-millionaire. They are basically hobby farmers (though they keep that very quiet on social media).

I have no idea if she’s unhappy / abused though - being rich wouldn’t prevent that.

Is anyone able/willing (I’m not sure how it works!) to use a share token to the original interview? There’s a link to it from that article, but you need to subscribe to read it. Thank you 🙏

I think she’s a victim of abuse by her husband.

I thought this long before the interview as she made the hand guesture for help in a video on TikTok months ago. The video was deleted shortly after

Martymcfly24 · 28/07/2024 10:58

She was the first Juliard undergrad to get pregnant. No one gives up an opportunity like that. It's very sad how she gave up her dreams, she was a stunning dancer.

GHSP · 28/07/2024 10:58

I don’t get it: with nine kids you have absolutely tons of laundry to wash, dry, iron, sort into piles (any other mother of a large family will be familiar with the phenomenon of somehow being the only person who knows whose pants are whose and whose socks are whose) put away, clean children, clean house, cook meals, tidy up after meals, plan next meals, and then home-educate on top? I don’t understand how it’s possible. I’d actually like the home-ed part, but I can see it’s hard to take a 10 and 12-year old through geographical features of erosion while you have toddlers and babies needing attention, plus other kids in between. Oh, and she has to do farming, obvs, because she’s the one who collects the eggs in her egg apron. No way could I cope with the drudgery. Or the weird beauty pageant stuff (not that I’d ever have the inclination or suitability!)
