Third trimester, I know it's not recommended but ... really fancy a glass of wine. Would you?

DorotheaHomeAlone · 20/07/2024 19:02

Yes. Definitely. Just one and I wouldn’t feel remotely guilty.

Notmydaughteryoubitch · 20/07/2024 19:02

Yes and did occasionally with no guilt

thaisweetchill · 20/07/2024 19:02

No, I wouldn't.

MultiplaLight · 20/07/2024 19:03

Yes. Absolutely no guilt. Read the research, no harm.

LemonMead · 20/07/2024 19:03

I wouldn’t but I feel your pain — 14 weeks in and there’s a lovely bottle of Chardonnay in the fridge 😭

Bearbookagainandagain · 20/07/2024 19:03

Yep, no issue

hastingsmax · 20/07/2024 19:03

I only wouldn't (and didn't) because it just gave me a headache. But I wouldn't feel any guilt about it

InTheRainOnATrain · 20/07/2024 19:03

Yes. One small glass only though!

Houseplanter · 20/07/2024 19:03

No I wouldn't.

embit · 20/07/2024 19:03

No I wouldn't.

TwattyMcFuckFace · 20/07/2024 19:03

Yes, but I wouldn't ask the internet first.

Especially not Mumsnet.

Are you new to AIBU?

Yozzer87 · 20/07/2024 19:04

No, I don't think it's worth it for one glass. It's unlikely to do any harm but it's a small sacrifice to make to know you did everything you possibly could to protect your baby.

Wildehorses · 20/07/2024 19:04

I drank very occasionally while pregnant … DS is a total brainiac and gifted academically, would not worry!

Georgethecat1 · 20/07/2024 19:04

Personally no, I’m the type of person if anything happened or any future issues I replay things like this and beat myself up even though I know it’s very slim chances it had any affect.

DonnaBanana · 20/07/2024 19:05

No because if my baby turned out to have an odd look I wouldn’t ever be able to get it out of my head it might have suffered from my moment of weakness

Oblomov24 · 20/07/2024 19:05

Yes.

PotteringAlonggotkickedoutandhadtoreregister · 20/07/2024 19:05

I wouldn’t and didn’t.

Love51 · 20/07/2024 19:06

I wouldn't and didn't.
There's no safe time and no safe amount.

Crunchymum · 20/07/2024 19:06

I did with DC2 and DC3 (both January babies - and not twins so I did this in two pregnancies)

I was 8+ months at Christmas both times so I had a glass of red with my Christmas dinner and a glass of champagne on NYE.

BulldogMumma · 20/07/2024 19:06

One small glass of wine won't hurt

greengreyblue · 20/07/2024 19:06

Yes with food and keep it small. I had the occasional drink when pregnant as the guidance them was no more than twice a week. DC are now 23 and 20 and all good. Cheers!

Lindtnotlint · 20/07/2024 19:07

Third trimester, one occasional glass. No evidence it is risky. Personally I would keep it really occasional.

Toblerone45 · 20/07/2024 19:07

I wouldn’t

RomeoRivers · 20/07/2024 19:07

25 weeks here, I don’t think it will harm the baby, but personally I wouldn’t simply because it’s so socially unacceptable.

Sassysia · 20/07/2024 19:07

Yes I would!
