It’s June. The sky is constantly grey. It’s raining all the time. Don’t get me started on the wind. I had to put the heating on this morning. God it’s depressing! Is this climate change in action or am I remembering Junes of the past with rose-tinted shades?! I can’t afford a holiday this year and I’m aching for some vitamin D :(

It's been warm and sunny ( although breezy) here ( SW Devon) for the past week. Temperature in the low 20s. The garden needs some rain!

longdistanceclaraclara · 11/06/2024 18:39

Pissing down again here. I am so over it. I've just put the heating on.

AmusedMaker · 11/06/2024 18:40

I had the heating on last night.
first time I’ve done that in the middle of June.

Fizzadora · 11/06/2024 18:41

It's feckin freezing here too OP. Mostly dry and sunny intervals here today but 13 degrees😖😖😖.
Just checked the webcam at my hotel in Majorca as I do every few days (not going til September) and its thick cloud and pissing down with everyone running around in coats.

Hi Puffling. I’m so envious! We’re in East Mids, it was 6 degrees this morning when I took DD out and it’s stayed in the low teens and rained all day.

According to many on Twitter it’s because pilots are secretly flying around, spraying stuff to block out the sun. If you’re a sane & rational person, it’s because it’s been a shitty Spring & mostly shitty start to Summer. Here’s hoping there’s some consistent sun & Vit D for you (and us all!) soon ☀️

Rockschooldropout · 11/06/2024 18:42

Cold and gloomy here too in the SW

ZebraD · 11/06/2024 18:43

It’s in salou…I have just come back!

rewilded · 11/06/2024 18:45

Yes. I have my thermals back on today. It really is too much now. I have given up on hoping for the sun. Just worried about the mood of the nation, if we go into Winter with no Summer...again.

RedYellowPinkGreenPurpleOrangeBlue · 11/06/2024 18:45

It's been beautiful here - Staffordshire - sunny and lovely most of the day. Tomorrow is due to be nice too, so DH and I are going to the beach!

All of June, and much of May has been OK/nice. Just a bit cooler than it should be. Been raining a bit, but it's OK. I would like to see it 7-10 degrees C warmer though!

MidnightPatrol · 11/06/2024 18:46

It is absolutely relentlessly awful.

Oh gosh that’s a new one! 🤣
Yes here’s to hoping, although I’m seriously considering writing a strongly worded letter to BA about this…😉

I work in the public sector, our heating is off because it’s June, but this week the workspace has been below the legal minimum temperature and now the trade unions are involved.

Quittingwifework · 11/06/2024 18:47

YANBU wtf is this

ATribeCalledQuestion · 11/06/2024 18:47

Climate change. We've fucked it. We didn't listen, and we've fucked it. This is it now folks, if only we'd recycled a bit more

Knitgoodwoman · 11/06/2024 18:47

Cold here op, it’s depressing!

FuzzyPuffling · 11/06/2024 18:48

We've been very lucky here...several similar threads on MN and posters think I'm fibbing.
I've had to be careful.not to get sunburnt this week.
I'm sorry for all those that have had it bad.

CeeJay81 · 11/06/2024 18:49

Sun is out here in Wales but its not very warm.

TuesdayWhistler · 11/06/2024 18:49

For some reason, this year, people seem to think June is Summer.

It isn't summer yet. Summer isn't until the 20th June. The longest day. The Solstice the day when the northern hemisphere is actually tilted towards the sun.

You've got 9 days. Then summer will start.
July August summer ends Autumn Equinox in September.

TimeFlysWhenYoureHavingRum · 11/06/2024 18:49

For 50 years we chose to do nothing about climate change. Now we just need to live with the results - exactly as expected.

PinkiOcelot · 11/06/2024 18:51

Bloody freezing here. Fed up now.

ALunchbox · 11/06/2024 18:52

I had optismistically put away my Winter clothes a few weeks ago, but brought them back down recently.

That is nonsense! It doesn’t suddenly get really cold in 21st December!
most other years are nothing like this actually…

UpUpUpU · 11/06/2024 18:54

East Midlands here too OP. Went riding this morning in a t shift, fleece and thin waterproof on. Had to dodge heavy rain. Came home and put the fire on. It’s ridiculous
