That women should not have to share changing rooms with men

This is absolutely horrific and probably the first of many cases we will see now. Please read the article in full but this alone is appalling. The response by their HR should be noted because that is what is going to happen to every woman who complains about this if we keep allowing these fraudulent men to get away with what they want.

One of the nurses told The Mail on Sunday: 'We don't feel safe because we strip down to our underwear and [the individual] doesn't just stay by his locker. 'He walks around the changing room in his boxer shorts.'
Another nurse said she was 'close to tears' during one incident in the changing room.
She said: 'I was rummaging in my bag trying to find my lanyard and keys for the locker when a man's voice behind me said, 'Are you not getting changed yet?' 'I found my keys and opened my locker and I was asked again, 'Are you not getting changed yet?'.'
The woman, who was sexually abused as a child, has posttraumatic stress disorder and struggles to be alone around men. She said: 'He stood there, two metres away from me, with a scrub top on and with tight black boxer shorts with holes in them and asked a third time whether I was getting changed yet.
'Flight or fight mode kicked in but I felt glued to my seat, I could not move. 'My hands started to sweat. I was petrified and felt sick and began hyperventilating.'
In March, 26 nurses wrote to management saying that the transgender nurse 'has made no secret' of the fact that 'he has stopped taking female hormones and is trying to inseminate his female partner'.
AIBU to suggest NOW is the time to wake up, en masse and stop allowing BE KIND to be a mantra that allows predatory men access to women at their most vulnerable.

Why do the feelings of the transgender women trump the womens?

Because they are men. And it is not womens' feelings, it is their rights, enshrined in law, which are being trumped by men.

Channellingsophistication · 26/05/2024 16:54

This is a horrifying story and a complete erosion of womens rights. Anyone pushing back gets accused of being transphobic when its actually about women wanting to feel safe and comfortable.

Male privilege.

If they were women, no one would care about their feelings.

Well of course it's not acceptable however this is what you will get with Labour.

And what we are currently getting with the Tories.

Is that a reason to accept it getting even worse under labour?

YellowHairband · 26/05/2024 17:46

@FOJN of course not, but it makes no sense to say that this sort of thing is what Labour will bring, when it's literally happening right now.
I don't agree with Labour on this. I just think it's odd to think that the Tories give a shit about women either. The last 14 years have hardly been sunlit uplands, and I doubt they'll suddenly change on 5th July.

The Tory interns are out in force today I see.

Hiw they turn everything into a thread about labour being bad (and not a fan of them or tories tbh) is a work of creative mastery.

I am a lifelong Labour voter- I've been a Socialist all my adult life, but I cannot support the current Labour policies on this issue.
I don't want some mealy mouthed muttering from Starmer, or the same old "be kind" rhetoric, I want a straight out commitment to maintaining single SEX spaces , no men , however they identify or whatever bit of legal paperwork they have, should be in women's changing rooms, toilets, prisons, hospital wards, rape crisis centers, sports and all the rest.

No child should ever be told they are "in the wrong body" , or encouraged to have life changing surgery or drugs- it is not "conversion therapy " to say this!
I want Labour to stand up and say they support and will implement the Cass report and protect our children from this abuse.

Until I get this, I cannot vote Labour, much as I hate what the Tory party has done to our country. I am politically homeless.

Labour aren't in power NOW though, are they? And this shit is happening NOW.

But it will get worse under Labour, without a doubt.

RiderOfTheBlue · 26/05/2024 18:03

@averylongtimeago that's exactly how I feel. I'd do cartwheels round the garden if Labour would just make a clear, unambiguous statement about this. Until then, I can't vote for them. As things stand, I think I'll be spoiling my ballot paper.

This is in Reform manifesto:

'Ban Transgender Ideology in Primary and Secondary Schools.
There are 2 sexes and 2 genders. It is a dangerous safeguarding issue to confuse children by suggesting otherwise. No gender questioning, social transitioning or pronoun swapping. Inform parents of under 16s about their children’s life decisions. Schools must have single sex facilities.'

Much much worse. Basically self id. If a man says he’s a woman, he’s a woman. And there’s nothing we can do about it.

Where Labour say they will ‘protect women’s spaces’, it means Nothing - since Labour think men can be women. And legally that ‘will’ be the case.

Just like people can buy sick notes on the web, if Labour get in, predatory men will be able to get ‘I’m legally a woman notes’.

I can’t believe how many people think this is acceptable. The implications are terrifying.

Itwasabrightcoldayinapril · 26/05/2024 18:09

I haven’t looked at reform but all they will do is split the vote. So a vote for reform is a vote for Labour.

And look at how these women have been treated now....

"Be more inclusive" "compromise"

A man with an easily acquired GRC will have license to sexually harass these women and the women will likely lose their jobs for objecting.

Mylovelygreendress · 26/05/2024 18:13

Everything I read about Trans issues is about men identifying as women and who want access to what should be female only spaces.
I am curious to know if there are thousands of women identifying as men who are insisting on using what should be male only spaces .
If not why not ??

A vote for the Tories is a vote for Labour as they are effectively one and the same at this point.

MumChp · 26/05/2024 16:43

@Winnading

You mean male staff? Kind of other discussion.

How does it matter if its Male staff in breast screening, which is supposed to be women staffed anyway or male patients?

What difference does it make to women why a man is there?

Itwasabrightcoldayinapril · 26/05/2024 18:14

It’s not trans issues. It’s women’s rights issues. It’s predatory males.

Some people like to keep referring to it as a trans issue because it suits their agenda. To make women look bad, non inclusive etc etc blah blah vomit 🤮 .

Women aren't as sexually deviant as men.

ginasevern · 26/05/2024 18:16

Just out of interest how does the nurse in question manage to do her job if she struggles to be alone around men. I'm not a nurse so perhaps they are never alone with male patients or even doctors? Could someone clarify.

I don't suppose she is in the process of changing when around the other men she must deal with.

She’s presumably clothed when around patients and other colleagues……..

Itwasabrightcoldayinapril · 26/05/2024 18:22

Just a couple of the latest examples of men pretending to be women, to rape women.
