😨😨😨😨
’I’ve just shit my pants, literally’

He messaged me this today from work.
He’s not been feeling well recently and complains of a funny tummy in front of our Dd, 6.

Aibu to feel totally put off by this and to just not want to know? Or am I just a cold, uncaring person?!

Fidgety31 · 16/05/2024 19:56

I would just laugh and send a poo emoji back or something similar

Kesio · 16/05/2024 19:56

It wouldn't put me off, no.

Me and dh talk about our dog's shitting habits all the time as we need to make sure it's done, not in the middle of the night etc.

Newname71 · 16/05/2024 20:00

No, it wouldn’t put me off either. He’d regret telling me though because I would take the piss at every opportunity. 😂

NeverEnoughPants · 16/05/2024 20:02

What happened to 'in sickness and in health'...

FawnFrenchieMum · 16/05/2024 20:04

I think I’d give him some sympathy to start with and then when he’s feeling better take the micky a little bit.

Pigeonqueen · 16/05/2024 20:05

Wow 😮 that’s put you off?! Poor man clearly isn’t well. I’d be worried about my dh if he sent me that. We’ve been together 15 years and both of us have had lots of health issues in that time so I’d just be concerned.

Menomeno · 16/05/2024 20:05

If it’s been going a while I’d encourage him to visit the GP, rather than worrying about my ick.

Nap1983 · 16/05/2024 20:05

Wouldn't put me off…. Would find it extremely funny and rip the piss out of him for ever more

Merryoldgoat · 16/05/2024 20:06

I’d first be concerned and once I was sure he was ok I’d find it quite funny 😂

ThirtyThrillionThreeTrees · 16/05/2024 20:06

Yes....I think my response would be "sorry to hear that but you'll have to deal with it yourself as you're no longer 3".

It's oversharing in the extreme. I would find it a turn off too.

Ineedaholidayyyy · 16/05/2024 20:07

No it wouldn't put me off, I'd probably do similar to PP and check he's OK and offer a bit of sympathy initially, but be able to have a laugh about it afterwards. This is assuming he doesn't have an illness like IBS or something!

Cosmosforbreakfast · 16/05/2024 20:08

I would be worried about ongoing symptoms, not mind a bit about mentioning a funny tummy in front of our children (kids get diarreah too you know). If he's sick enough he's shit his pants I'd be making a GP appointment and be worried about Crohns, Colitis etc You sound very uncaring.

thanKyouaIMee · 16/05/2024 20:08

I've sent similar to my DH in jest 😂

I'd be worried incase he was really ill and probably a bit concerned if he was being serious tbh.

PossumintheHouse · 16/05/2024 20:10

I wouldn't give a shit 💩

Seriously, though, so what? He's ill, he wants to share the grim side with the person he can be honest with and trusts the most. It's only shit.

Deathbyfluffy · 16/05/2024 20:10

Thankfully it seems the majority disagree with you 😅
Everyone poops, as they say. You’re married, not on a third date.

Whattochoosetowatch · 16/05/2024 20:10

🙈😂
Do I sound that uncaring?

I seriously don’t want to hear it, he doesn’t have Chrons etc, is always trumping…I do find it off putting. I’m not bothered about talking about our dogs poo or DD’s, but would you really send that? I mean, what could I do about it or was expected to do about it 😬

OP posts:
MrsTerryPratchett · 16/05/2024 20:11

Not while I'm eating. But apart from that, fine.

crumbpet · 16/05/2024 20:11

I'd give some sympathy and ask if he had spare pants

PossumintheHouse · 16/05/2024 20:12

Nothing. He just wants to offload about feeling crap.

Withswitch · 16/05/2024 20:12

I don't understand why mentioning a funny tummy in front of dc is an issue.

I'd find the text worrying.

PixelatedLunchbox · 16/05/2024 20:13

Aw bless him -- I would feel bad for him not be put off.

YoureALizardHarry11 · 16/05/2024 20:14

No, I would be sympathetic. The fact he felt comfortable to tell you that is a good sign, OP. It means he feels he can say things without judgement.

Lovinglife57 · 16/05/2024 20:14

Yuk
yes it would …and who is going to wash his shitty pants fuck that no chance

Sunshineclouds11 · 16/05/2024 20:15

I've had this text before 😂 took the piss out of him for afew days, and bring it up years later.

Don't understand why he can't mention he has a dodgy stomach infront of DD though?

Upallnight2 · 16/05/2024 20:15

I've literally sent that message before 🤣 doesn't seem to have put DH off lol.
Had to stay home and miss a weekend away because I caught norovirus the night before 🤢
