😨😨😨😨
’I’ve just shit my pants, literally’

He messaged me this today from work.
He’s not been feeling well recently and complains of a funny tummy in front of our Dd, 6.

Aibu to feel totally put off by this and to just not want to know? Or am I just a cold, uncaring person?!

I take it if you’re sick tomorrow you won’t tell him anything…?

We are talking about being told that a partner has shit his pants ffs not got a sore throat or feeling under the weather

YoureALizardHarry11 · 16/05/2024 20:46

@Janiie Adults don’t tend to shit themselves at work randomly unless they’re ill or have some sort of undiagnosed bowel disease anyway, for a start. I think you need to broaden your mind a bit to be honest.

Edited

100% this!

I just hope none of the posters that are horrified ever end up with an illness that causes these sorts of problems. Imagine if you needed a colostomy bag, I'd expect your husbands would run for the hills 🤢🙄

Totally different. It isn't the shit or an illness that is the problem. I'd support anyone 100%, it's the being at work so clearly not that incapacitated and seemingly proud and lol'ing about it

suntannedsnowballsinhellskitchen · 16/05/2024 20:48

Ugh

I'm easily turned. I'd be disgusted if my husband text me or tried to discuss shit with me, absolutely off limits here

You feel so strongly about this don't you 😂

I think I’d give him some sympathy to start with and then when he’s feeling better take the micky a little bit.

This

Yes I do how do you feel seen as your digging me out you must me feeling strongly about how I’m feeling …how strange

PickledMuffin · 16/05/2024 20:55

I'd find it funny but feel sorry for him at the same time.

Whattochoosetowatch · 16/05/2024 20:57

I just don’t know what was expected of me? To laugh, say are you ok…what?
Now I’m feeling a mix between finding it funny, but also worried it’s something bad 🙈

Really not that deep, I've just been laughing at your comments that's all.

DelythBeautyQueen · 16/05/2024 20:59

I'd be worried if I got a message like that from my husband, because he would have to be very ill for that to happen. It wouldn't put me off him and I hope he wouldn't be put off if the same thing happened to me.

I laughed when I received this text.

Asked if he needed new pants dropped off 😂

K0OLA1D · 16/05/2024 21:00

I'd be concerned it was a bug and I too may succumb to shitting myself!

Personally I would have responded, "Oh no...poor you! Are you feeling all right? Do you need to come home? Make sure you chuck those pants away first haha 😂 💩"

bloodyplumbing · 16/05/2024 21:02

Whattochoosetowatch · 16/05/2024 20:22

I didn’t mean anything wrong in mentioning it in front of Dd, there’s nothing wrong with that at all, I just meant he’s often going on about things like that and I just really don’t want to know these things or hear constant trumping or to be told ‘Oh I’m got a funny tummy’ before he heads to the loo.
A real problem, of course I’d be sympathetic/worried

God how awful him saying those immortal words

Funny tummy!
Grin

Allthingsdecember · 16/05/2024 21:03

I've sent similar to my DH 🤷‍♀️. There's no such thing of over sharing in a marriage.

Badburyrings · 16/05/2024 21:03

Whattochoosetowatch · 16/05/2024 20:10

🙈😂
Do I sound that uncaring?

I seriously don’t want to hear it, he doesn’t have Chrons etc, is always trumping…I do find it off putting. I’m not bothered about talking about our dogs poo or DD’s, but would you really send that? I mean, what could I do about it or was expected to do about it 😬

Its Chrohns.. not chrone... (ffs). My husband has it and when he has ever "shit his pants" in the 22 years I have known him all I have felt is sympathy.

He’s shit himself that’s it you know what some guys are like he probably wants some sympathy and then want you to baby him when he gets home …is he one of them types that will say I’ve shit myself today I need to lay down can you bring my dinner to me and run me a bath after all I shit my pants at work today 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Sunshine45688 · 16/05/2024 21:05

No. I would be quite worried for my DH if he texted that. It's a really annoying thing to happen, especially at work, and I assume he would want a supportive person to vent to. If it happened to me, I'd be quite stressed and upset.

Especially since having kids, bodily functions do not gross me out anymore.
