😨😨😨😨
’I’ve just shit my pants, literally’

He messaged me this today from work.
He’s not been feeling well recently and complains of a funny tummy in front of our Dd, 6.

Aibu to feel totally put off by this and to just not want to know? Or am I just a cold, uncaring person?!

Seriously..it be worried he ok. Poor guy. Yabu. Sickness and health.

Thingamebobwotsit · 16/05/2024 21:07

Wouldn't bother me at all. I would be very concerned and worry mine was ill. At the end of the day he looks after me when I am poorly and I do the same for him. And for as long as we are both able we clean up our own mess (which is thankfully very rare). But there maybe some point in the future where one us has to care for the other one. And yes it won't be sexy but that is marriage for you.

Flyhigher · 16/05/2024 21:09

I think it's funny!

Whattochoosetowatch · 16/05/2024 20:57

I just don’t know what was expected of me? To laugh, say are you ok…what?
Now I’m feeling a mix between finding it funny, but also worried it’s something bad 🙈

Do you have quite a serious relationship? My response would have been "FFS 🤣 are you ok? What happened?"

2Rebecca · 16/05/2024 21:10

Definitely TMI. You're his lover still

What’s wrong with talking about having a bad tummy in front of your DD?

There are ways of talking about an upset tummy

Chellybelle · 16/05/2024 21:16

It's only poo, he's not well. Husbands and wives and people in relationships go through all kinds together, it's strange that you're making such a big thing of it.

No bud, not just you as the message re swearing should have been picked up by everyone. IMO there is no need for it.
I hope you do not mind me saying so and many thanks for the response,

Your entitled to your opinion but have you called other ppl out for swearing…some ppl are offended others are not that’s life

Janiie · 16/05/2024 21:19

'Its Chrohns.. not chrone... (ffs). My husband has it and when he has ever "shit his pants" in the 22 years I have known him all I have felt is sympathy.'

Crohn's . It's crohn's ('ffs' Grin)

The op's dh does not have crohns so 0/10 for relevance.

GrandTheftWalrus · 16/05/2024 21:20

My dh had to clean up my shit after I had dd2 unexpectedly on the living room floor along with blood. He didn't complain. When I was struggling with my broken ankle and managing the loo he offered to help.
And I have ibs and sometimes don't make the loo. I don't tell him "I've shit myself" just that I didn't make it and need to pop a wash on.

'My dh had to clean up my shit after I had dd2 unexpectedly on the living room floor along with blood. He didn't complain. When I was struggling with my broken ankle and managing the loo he offered to help.'

2 valid and completely different scenarios, her dh was at work. Although tbh I'm not sure a broken ankle would stop me getting to the loo in time.

SwingTheMonkey · 16/05/2024 21:26

It wouldn’t ’put me off’ my husband because we’re a middle aged married couple, not a pair of 15 year olds.

My husband actually has text from work to say he’d shit himself - because he’d come down with norovirus whilst there. I had sympathy at the time. Now we laugh about it.

Rookangaroo4 · 16/05/2024 21:28

It wouldn’t put me off but I’d find it disgusting. However he’d find it more disgusting so just wouldn’t send something like that. And no we’re not boring. We’ve been together nearly 30 years and have plenty of fun but that is a step too far for me/us.
