Yes. I have no interest in her, only know one song (may well have heard others and not known it is her) and think people spending 100s if not 1000s of pounds trying to get tickets to see her is crazy.

But that doesn't mean she's overrated, just that a lot of people like her. Which is subjective and entirely up to them.

From a singing pov I think most pop stars are, tbh.
There's very few amazing vocalists.
But that's only part of the job. Pr is another part and she and her team are first class in that area and cannot be said to be overrated. They have carefully created what could actually be called a cult of followers. People who worship her and become quite deranged in support of her.
Because of that she's currently worth what? Over a billion according to Google.

Overrated? You can't deny that from a marketing perspective, that is some bloody good going. I think that aspect is massively underrated if anything.

YABU. She is in effect self-employed - the market decides her value. It's not as if she received a promotion she didn't deserve.

What is it you find over rated? It's fine to not like her but be more specific.
Her singing ability?
Her song writing?
Her business acumen?
Her charity work both donations and her music school?
Her top-notch PR team?

She is the only musician to become a billionaire solely from their music.

Or is it just that she just writes music about boys (not true)?
Is childish and should grow up? - I'm fairly sure she lives just the same way many rich and famous bachelors do.
Or are you fatigued about her being in the media - not her fault people follow her around.

You could have the opinion that anyone or anything is overrated, but it’s just an opinion and yours only. You don’t have to have reinforcement to back it up.

Personally, I don't listen to / follow artists because of their money making / business / PR acumen.

I don't think the music she makes is anything special - from what I've heard (admittedly I haven't heard all of it!) so from that point of view I think she the level of admiration she receives is disproportionate to her musical ability.

I agree you don't need to be a great singer technically to be a pop star.

When I was a teenager I really loved Duran Duran and I remember an uncle really being dismissive about them - saying that they’d never last ( ha!). I think there’s some prejudice about the taste of young people and young women and girls in particular. Not just TS of course but other acts that appeal to that demographic. So although TS is not especially my taste I get really tired of the too cool for school posters shitting on her and the people who like her.
