Just that really, do you shower/bath daily as an adult that (not ill or has health conditions)

I am asking this as another thread, made me curious.

YIBU- I don't shower everyday, there is no need.
YANBU- I shower everyday as I like to be clean.

As are you. Especially with your grim comments such as:

”I do shower twice a day ...but for ppl who don't does this still apply if you are or if you have had your leg over ewwww”

I’d stop responding to you but now you’re carrying this on. Grow up.

I'm not giving you ant more time sweetie have a lovely evening

I started this thread because I was told on another that no one should shower every day, I was actually starting to question my own thoughts, someone also said it was better to use your hand to wipe your arse and it was cleaner. Hence why I started a thread. HTH

You are a bully to keep on at a poster when they have apologised and explained the reason behind their comment, but you carried on.....

Thank you so much ..I have said sorry but I just keep getting hammered

ThinWomansBrain · 15/04/2024 21:41

Stayed somewhere at the weekend that was heavily into sustainability - I don't bath/shower everyday, but the intro of "and if you need to have a shower over the course of the weekend..." ensured that I did

Rockthecasbah1 · 15/04/2024 22:33

Normally i do but I've just had a C section and I'm struggling to get up never mind shower. I feel disgusting

lemmein · 16/04/2024 00:14

Seriously the 'ewwwww' comments are infantile. There's been several posters saying they can't shower everyday - or for one poster, at all, due to disabilities. How shit do you think you're making them feel? Fuck off with your patronising disability exception - no one needs your permission to skip a fucking shower!

SnowFrogJelly · 16/04/2024 00:54

Not again!

No I shower once a week

SnowFrogJelly · 16/04/2024 00:56

These threads always end in tears

SnowFrogJelly · 16/04/2024 00:59

I agree with you! People insist they dont smell but you can smell it- sorry but you can.

Sorry but you can't

Ankylo · 16/04/2024 07:02

Yes, I would feel dirty not doing so. I also wash my hair everyday.

I can tell by 3pm on the Tuesday

Absolutely no way you can tell when they’ve last showered, they could have clean clothes on, deodorant and a load of perfume on. Seriously come off it, you’re just being a prat about it now.

Danfromdownunder · 16/04/2024 07:35

Yes twice a day even when I’ve been in the pool or ocean. I’m Australian in Aus so we are mostly all at least once a day washers down here.

Can you imagine, I have to put my top into a different bag as it is wringing wet.

I am sure my office would love me to come back from spin and go into a meeting without showering.

Twice a day without fail here. I don’t like to get into bed dirty.

also I had a boss who used to cycle to work. Be dripping in sweat and my god she STANK and she would merrily hug everyone and change into her work clothes without showering. She was utterly repugnant. 🤮

MiffedandMiserable · 16/04/2024 07:45

Every day, sometimes twice. To be honest I find it quite disgusting when people don’t shower in the morning 😅

BlazesBoylansHat · 16/04/2024 07:46

Yes I do! I wash my hair every second day.
I started a thread recently about the (to me shocking) smell of unwashed genitals in the toilets in work & my conclusion that an awful lot of people really need to wash more frequently....and I got my arse handed to me. BUT I stand by it.

A lot of people who probably don't think they smell, really do! And it's v unpleasant for the rest of us.

QuickFetchTheCoffee · 16/04/2024 08:06

I shower and wash my hair twice a week normally. If I feel like I need to I'll hop in the shower more often, in summer or when DH and I have had a particularly good, er, session.
I wash my hair twice a week because its thick and long and takes ages to wash and hours to dry, and guess what? It doesn't get greasy until the fourth day, because I'm not a teenager or over-washing it (triggers sebum production and makes your hair greasy quicker to wash it every day LOL).
I might smell of human, but not BO as I change my clothes if they get sweaty or have a quick wash.
Yes I am autistic and it takes me a bit longer to get sorted in and after the shower than average. We are also on a water meter and with three pretty much adults in the house, all showering every day is going to be more than we can afford in bills.
But the main reason I don't shower every day, twice a day is that I just don't fucking want to, and if your poor wickle delicate nose thinks it can smell me or you think I'm disgusting, I just don't care.

Aquarius1234 · 16/04/2024 08:09

I heard that 90% of showering / bath is 90% about under the arms.
That's it. Excessive soap everyone else is just extra.
If you don't wash under your arms enough that's what keeps you going back to the shower twice a day.

What do you mean by "even when I've been in pool/ocean"? every body showers after those activities to wash chlorine and salt off etc Confused

How do you know they haven’t? Do you ask everyone you meet?

TheCosyRain · 16/04/2024 12:56

My family call me “the bloodhound” due to my sensitive sense of smell. It’s annoying sometimes.

Can I smell when someone hasn’t showered that day? No. I smell bad breath on people more frequently than an unwashed smell. There is simply no way of knowing when someone last showered!

DragonGypsyDoris · 16/04/2024 13:30

Every day so that I'm clean and smell nice.

freespirit333 · 16/04/2024 13:34

Absolutely, feel gross if I don’t. Not hair wash every day, but a full body shower.

PersonalityofaVacuum · 16/04/2024 14:07

I skip a day occasionally if I am not doing anything involving other people. Rare though. I WFH. Most days I don't shower first thing. That's a weekend/leisure day thing to me. I prefer to bathe before bed/late at night and just have a quick wash as necessary in the morning. Some mornings I'm straight out with the dog, don't see the point in being clean just to get grubby/sweaty straight after!
But mostly I have a bath every day, shower if I need to be quick.
