Do you shower/bath everyday

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 14/04/2024 07:06

Just that really, do you shower/bath daily as an adult that (not ill or has health conditions)

I am asking this as another thread, made me curious.

YIBU- I don't shower everyday, there is no need.
YANBU- I shower everyday as I like to be clean.

Everyday, but in hot weather twice a day, as it cools me down, and helps me sleep.

Moreteaandchocolate · 14/04/2024 07:32

Most days

Freesia9 · 14/04/2024 07:33

Yes and twice a day if night sweats/period

NotARealWookiie · 14/04/2024 07:33

Everyday. I feel gross if I don’t shower first thing and if it’s hot then I will shower again in the evening or after exercise.

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 14/04/2024 07:33

Simonjt · 14/04/2024 07:31

At least one a day, not only do I exercise daily, but bodies sweat during the night a lot, its very easy to tell which colleagues have come in to work unclean.

Thank you, I can also tell when people have not had a shower. I have found my people on MN.

I’m now imagining doing a spin class and not being able to shower after. The horror.

I agree with you! People insist they dont smell but you can smell it- sorry but you can.

rainbowsweets · 14/04/2024 07:35

Surely adults should be washing their genitals, bum and armpits everyday at least.

Youcancallmeirrelevant · 14/04/2024 07:36

Not every day, probably every other day, sometimes 3 days depends what i've been doing.

Showering and doing ny hair, and drying it etc takes about 45mins, i'd rather have an extra 45mins in bed each morning.

iloveeverykindofcat · 14/04/2024 07:36

Usually. Definitely if I've worked out. But I don't think its necessarily dirty not to. Its all contextual.

Sunnnybunny72 · 14/04/2024 07:39

By the time I have washed my face, pits, bits (and what about your feet!) stood at a sink with a flannel I could have jumped in the shower. Takes 3-4 mins absolute max.
It's not dirt, it's body odour.
Do people really wash their feet in a sink?

SecondHandFurniture · 14/04/2024 07:43

Yes, every day. Never know when DH and I might fancy some action, or often will have just had some 😁

Seriously though I am from a family who don't. My mum and dad used to whinge at me about it. "We're on a water meter, you had one yesterday!" which is a bit grim when you're a hormonal 15 year old. They had plenty of money!

I dont wash my hair daily, thrice a week at most. I think most daily showerers probably don't. That would take ages.

That is grim, everyone should do what makes them happy and not smell.

If i try and shower without washing my hair all the water/stesm etc gets soaked up by my hair and it goes frizzy so then it needs washing and redoing anyway

Can you imagine, I have to put my top into a different bag as it is wringing wet.

I am sure my office would love me to come back from spin and go into a meeting without showering.

Yes of course, every morning, and again later on if I've been using suncream, been to the beach, exercised etc.

B1anche · 14/04/2024 07:58

Every day, often twice a day. Hair wash around 3 times a week.

Createausername1970 · 14/04/2024 08:00

If I am leaving the house and interacting with other people - yes.

If I am WFH or a lazy weekend day and unlikely to go further than the garden - no.

Can I ask why you would not have a shower if you are not going out have a lazy day, but will if you are leaving the house?

Isn't that obvious?

Seeing other people - yes

Lounging around the house - no

I am exactly the same as the previous poster.

I shower everyday.

Why do people shower when they are leaving the house is it because they may have a whiff about them or that they do not want to be seen as unclean/dirty, where as some people do not care.

CrunchyCarrot · 14/04/2024 08:19

Before I had mobility issues, then I would have a bath or shower every day, first thing. Now, about every 4 days. It is what it is.

BernardBlacksBreakfastWine · 14/04/2024 08:21

I can’t leave the house without a shower. I’m kind of sweaty.

However, this is definitely not the same for everyone. My husband is a very un-sweaty, un-smelly person. He just doesn’t smell! So those of you sagely saying you can always tell if a colleague hasn’t showered… you’re wrong! I can’t tell if my own husband has showered and there’s nothing wrong with my sense of smell!

MissTrip82 · 14/04/2024 08:22

I work 12-14 hours at a time on my feet and also exercise daily. I expect others are pleased I shower before work and my family are pleased I also shower before bed. I live somewhere with threatened drought so use a shower timer.

Peoole who don’t shower daily smell musty. They never believe it.
