Do you shower/bath everyday

TheSpoonyNavyReader · 14/04/2024 07:06

Just that really, do you shower/bath daily as an adult that (not ill or has health conditions)

I am asking this as another thread, made me curious.

YIBU- I don't shower everyday, there is no need.
YANBU- I shower everyday as I like to be clean.

Unwashed dirty hair is the worst smell, ever. You can also see the grease forming.

I too am a once a day showerer (sometimes add a bath in the evening) but I do take issue with this. I recently didnt wash my hair for several weeks following a shoulder fracture, as I was in too much pain and frankly so miserable I couldn't be bothered. But weirdly my hair didn't look or feel any different and it still smelled nice (got partner to do a regular sniff test and he confirmed this). When I eventually went to the hairdresser's, he was amazed, said it still looked great and smelled ok, he couldn't believe it hadn't been washed for weeks. (maybe it's different if you have naturally greasy hair though?)

Thank you, I can also tell when people have not had a shower. I have found my people on MN

I agree with you! People insist they dont smell but you can smell it- sorry but you can.

You absolutely cannot tell at 9am on Tuesday by smell and if someone last had a shower at 8am on Monday. If they'd just had a sedentary day and used deodorant and brushed teeth/hands/face etc.

However, you can smell if they haven't washed in a fair while or used deodorant or haven't washed their clothes properly etc.

It starts with not having a shower one day.

It may do, but many of us can miss a day without it becoming a habit. Or starting to smell.

FlissyPaps · 15/04/2024 19:59

Not everyday. But won’t go more than 2 days without showering.

When working from home - I shower at night if WFH the next day.
Working from the office - Shower in the morning.
Will always have a shower after a gym class or I’ve gotten muddy from being outside.
On Holiday - Shower every evening after the pool/beach and before getting ready for evening meal.
Wash my hair once a week.

I dont shower because of my arse so please assume the reason I shower twice a day maybe sometimes more I have OCD I wasn't assault in anyone else and really don't appreciate your accusations to me I hope thst is enough clarification for you

Perhaps stick to your namesake and not put childish comments like “eewww” and “is this even a question” trying to make other people feel dirty or embarrassed.

It’s also really childish to try and justify your comments with having OCD. Do better.

Judgement works both ways, those calling posters liars, stating think of the planet, so are so wrong to have a shower everyday, its bad for you, my doctor said so.

Most believe that you are dirty if you do not shower for 48 hours.

I’m not trying to justify anything I do have OCD and GAD and other things that I don’t need to tell you …how rude are you !

Then why are you putting childish comments like “eeeewww” but backtrack and say it’s because you have OCD? Think you’re the rude one here.

Because having OCD makes you think eeeewww, so then the thoughts become more and more.

OCD means that you can not settle or think about anything else, and it has cycles.

YOU are the rude one, and the person that is a bully.

Shower and wash hair every morning (I have shit fine hair which only looks good freshly washed and dried) and maybe have a bath if I fancy one in the evening which is usually 3-5 nights a week.
my dh baths or showers daily as he has a dirty job.

Having an OCD diagnosis does give a free pass to make judgement on others and post utterly childish and degrading remarks such as “eeeww” and “is this even a question”.

Calling out someone’s childish comments does not equate to being a bully.

Anyone can pass judgement on anyone just like you have on @Nicetobenice7

The irony of your comment can not even be lost on you.

I’m a bully but @Nicetobenice7 is only “passing judgement”?

What was your intention for posting this goady thread anyway? So you can pass judgement on the smellys that don’t shower everyday?

I started this thread because I was told on another that no one should shower every day, I was actually starting to question my own thoughts, someone also said it was better to use your hand to wipe your arse and it was cleaner. Hence why I started a thread. HTH

You are a bully to keep on at a poster when they have apologised and explained the reason behind their comment, but you carried on.....

I shower every day. It's none of my business what other folk do and I don't care.
Certainly not worth arguing about.

Surely you knew that you would receive a range of replies of “passing judgement” then? Do you not think your thread and your comments you’ve made will make other MN’rs question their own thoughts? You know, the grim smelly ones who dare leave showering over 24 hours.

I quoted said poster twice. I didn’t keep on at them. My point still stands to them that their original comments were childish. If you think that’s bullying then you need thicker skin.

Shower every morning, bath some evenings. I can’t leave the house without a shower!!

As are you. Especially with your grim comments such as:

”I do shower twice a day ...but for ppl who don't does this still apply if you are or if you have had your leg over ewwww”

I’d stop responding to you but now you’re carrying this on. Grow up.

6 days a week - sometimes if I'm staying in at the weekend I'll have a wash one day instead of a shower. Does that make me a minger 😭

ClonedSquare · 15/04/2024 21:18

Yes, I shower every morning. Very rarely I'll skip the morning shower if I'm having a day at home and planning to clean or exercise, but even then I usually still shower mid afternoon.
