Partner wanted to do a charity skydive with some of his friends/colleagues. I refused as it isn't something I'm interested in.

He said fine. And now is doing the tandem skydive with one of his female friends?

If they're new to skydiving they won't be tandeming together, they'll both be strapped to an instructor. They don't make a habit of chucking rookies out of a plane strapped together and hope for the best.
