AIBU to find lasagna massively overrated.

Ready meal lasagna is point blank rank.
Using jars of sauce makes an alright lasagna but nothing to hype about.
Making it from scratch is by far the tastiest option, but it is just so much effort to make a tomato based sauce while simultaneously making a cheese sauce and then layering to then have to wait for it to cook in the oven!
I’ve never actually had lasagna from a restaurant as it could be very nice but there’s always something that I fancy more.

What is everyone else’s unpopular food opinions?

Pudding rice and custard skin is the best.

Roast potatoes suck

Meat is rank; tofu is delicious.

Peas are nasty.

Jars of pasta sauce are dreadful and no substitute for a properly made sauce.

I love burnt sausages. Like to the point they are black. Very carcinogenic I'm sure so I rarely do it.

Sushi is bland and the texture does not make for a nice eating experience

Lemongrass makes dishes taste like fairy liquid has accidentally been added

British Chinese takeaway food is a let down, every time I get my hopes up but it’s always bland and salty for the most part

My unpopular opinion is that cheese sauce has no place in lasagne al forno; ragù, lasagne, bechamel, repeat until the dish is full. Dust with parmesan on the top if you must.

I actually agree with you, I just have a strange habit of referring to Béchamel as a cheese sauce, even though I know deep down it isn’t 🤦🏻‍♀️

I don’t disagree about lasagna. Saying that I prefer a white chicken lasagna instead of the traditional red sauce and beef. Light, but filling.

Peas are pointless

Mince pies are overrated. Can’t understand how people can go through several boxes in the run up to Christmas

Peas and tomatoes (inc. Ketchup, tomato based meals etc.) shouldn't ever be served on the same plate

I'm a blasphemous heathen and make mine with cheese sauce. It's delicious.

I'm also vegan so it's not really cheese. Or beef.
