Ours is a on fire at the moment. Usually it's just dog poo and why is the helicopter out, and tourists parking in the pub car park to go for a walk and getting a ticket..

However in the last week or so it has popped off and I'm living for the drama 🤣 it's not even the local community groups,

It's beef between 2 niche (very niche) hobby pages where one is saying x will happen and the other is saying y will happen, then page 1 started posting passive aggressive comments on the page of page 2 and frankly it's incredible.

Any one else got something fun going on, on their Facebook groups?

Three innocuous little letters: L. T. N.

Never have I seen so much crazy hyperbolic wailing and gnashing of teeth, it's off the charts. People are practically self-immolating in the street over it ffs. They call the barriers the Berlin Blockade.

KarenNotAKaren · 08/01/2024 19:23

On mine it’s all about the restaurant dramas!

Poster 1 has left a review of a restaurant and says that Susie who served them was a bit rude. No I’ve been to this restaurant and Susie IS fucking rude and grumpy. Cue dozens of people calling the reviewer a bitch and defending Susie - including her sister, dad and the restaurant manager.

Poster 2 claimed that a different restaurant ejected her daughter just because she’s disabled, the doorman took one look at her and said “We don’t like your sort in here” apparently. What ACTUALLY happened is her adult daughter is disabled but she was also pissed as a fart and punched the doorman who asked her how much she had to drink.

Recently it's mostly about the bins not being collected. Or the rubbish collected but not the recycling. Or the bins emptied but extra sacks not taken.

Although there are some people who ask everytime the helicoptor is up, or there is more than one police car passes them, "What's going on?" Grin

ItsTheDramaaMick · 08/01/2024 19:25

@sprigatito 🤣 is that a low traffic neighbourhood?

Near us the council blockaded one of the biggest 'rat runs' onto the main road, made traffic so much worse, council said the residents of the road had asked for it. Made even funnier when one of the residents of the road posted on the facebook group he had reported the blockade to the police because it took him an
Hour longer to get to work 🤣🤣

I haven't looked for a few days, but a load of dead chickens has fallen out of a delivery van and been left in the road.

Mummylovesmonkeys · 08/01/2024 19:28

Potholes and Covid Jabs (again) on ours

Coatscoatscoast · 08/01/2024 19:28

We have flooding locally so ours is high drama but justified for once!

Doggymummar · 08/01/2024 19:29

Mondays is trades people's posts so nothing more exciting their haircuts and botox

runbackhome · 08/01/2024 19:29

I've had 3 people mark themselves safe from the floods. I mean we have a lot of flooded fields and a lot of roads have been closed but no fatalities in a very large radius. I was hoping for some jokey comments but nope. They're serious.

Other than that, lost, found, and dead cats mostly.

Youremylobster87 · 08/01/2024 19:29

We've got two local charities (yes charities!!) who constantly slag each other off. It got so bad the Police were involved as they were targeting each others shops with graffitti, stalking each other, slashing tyres etc. All accusations for all to see on the local FB page.
I love the drama! 🍿

KateyCuckoo · 08/01/2024 19:29

Flooding here too!

Gummybear23 · 08/01/2024 19:29

Farrow and ball tester pots.

SparrowSally · 08/01/2024 19:29

Bins, bins, bins!! New collection have been in place for about a month now. We had 6 months of people kicking off about it before hand, and now it's started, people kicking off every week! Our local area one feels like where's Wally as everyone posts about where the bin collectors are 😀

kitnkaboodle · 08/01/2024 19:29

Have y'all ever listened to the podcast (? BBC sounds?) Welcome to the Neighbourhood? All about local Facebook groups and this type of stuff. Hilarious! 😆

MrsMoastyToasty · 08/01/2024 19:30

It's snowing.
The floods are higher than 1968 (when a bridge was washed away), 2000, 2013 etc.
Who rescues foxes?

EvilElsa · 08/01/2024 19:32

Ours (DH tells me as I left Facebook a few years back) is currently a battle between the original locals page and a new locals page set up because the admin of the originals is quite...heavy handed? She is the local busybody and does enjoy telling people what to do but her heart is in the right place. The new page is run by a young guy who loves being controversial and has basically started by giving her a good slagging off. Everyone is loving the drama of it all.

deepsea9 · 08/01/2024 19:34

The LTN histrionics here have been notably absent over the holidays, but I fully expect business as usual from tomorrow onwards.

We have proposed changes to our bin collections coming as well, so that’s been quite entertaining.

Other than that, it’s a steady flow of ‘is this perfectly healthy looking but friendly cat’ lost posts.

MrsGreenGrass · 08/01/2024 19:36

There’s a local ‘artist’ on our local FB billboard, with obvious serious mental health problems, that’s trying to get attention again by walking around the town wearing the bottom of a Yeti costume and using a microphone to shout ‘pay the pied piper’. He keeps getting picked up by the police, taken home, then he does it again a few days later. He creates artwork in his garden and shouts at people for looking at it as they walk past. He put a siren in his back garden which he turns on when he’s having one of these tantrums. He’s refused all offers of professional health support and is very hostile. There’s quite a few people joking about it but it causes others alarm. I feel so sorry for his neighbours.

How exciting..!

Beezknees · 08/01/2024 19:38

There's a massive pot hole at one of the roundabouts.

Our area is prone to floods, we've had a terrible time these past few months and everyone is moaning about the local MP never showing her face.

Mywhoopdeedoo · 08/01/2024 19:38

A sheep got out of a field

TruthRevolution · 08/01/2024 19:38

Sheds and outhouses being broken into, lost bank cards and cats.

Dodgy characters spotted on ring door bells.

8misskitty8 · 08/01/2024 19:39

We had someone offering empty beauty calendars for free if anyone wanted them for arts/crafts. Someone suggested giving to local nursery. Person agreed.
Someone else then posted wanting the collection address (rude imo) and when told sorry they are gone, posted that its meant to be first come first served.
Another person replied that it did go to the first person. Reply they got was ‘looks shite anyway’

BluJanuary · 08/01/2024 19:39

Floods.
Why is the traffic so bad? (Probably because it isn't, it's just the back to school, normal traffic!).
and that's about it.

KnottyKnitting · 08/01/2024 19:41

Ours is about a new refuse system involving canvass bags for recycling which blow about in the wind and are impossible for the bin men to empty without rubbish littering the roads. We also have a fairly small black bin for general waste which is only collected every two weeks.

Every week since it started there are hundreds of posts complaining about it!
