Ours is a on fire at the moment. Usually it's just dog poo and why is the helicopter out, and tourists parking in the pub car park to go for a walk and getting a ticket..

However in the last week or so it has popped off and I'm living for the drama 🤣 it's not even the local community groups,

It's beef between 2 niche (very niche) hobby pages where one is saying x will happen and the other is saying y will happen, then page 1 started posting passive aggressive comments on the page of page 2 and frankly it's incredible.

Any one else got something fun going on, on their Facebook groups?

Cycle lanes/bus lanes/20mph speed limits. It’s very road-centric currently.

BlackberrySky · 08/01/2024 20:28

There is a "lost cat" walking about in the park. It turns out it's just "a cat", as the owner has confirmed. Phew! 😂😂

NotMeNoNo · 08/01/2024 20:29

Massive excitement recently due to flooding and ITV news actually filming near the Co op. Back to stolen bikes and the state of the Evri machine now.

lljkk · 08/01/2024 20:29

Inflation being closed due to fumes (Ipswich)

kikisparks · 08/01/2024 20:30

An argument about the inconvenience to motorists by long running works to a local roundabout to make it safe to cross for pedestrians.

Ecnerual · 08/01/2024 20:30

Oh so many.

Missing bins- every single week. We lost a recycling bin a few years back, apparently the bin wagon has a habit of eating them.

Dog poo (genuine problem).
Horse poo (really not a problem).

Noisy fireworks around fireworks night.

The ongoing traffic chaos caused by the installation of high speed broadband cables which tbf feels like it has been going on for about ten years already and looks a right mess.

Beaverbridge · 08/01/2024 20:30

Guy looking for work on ours but he must get a lift as he can't afford bus fares as he's got a cat to feed.

Usually it's missing cats, people feeding other folks cats. Missing dogs.

Maraa · 08/01/2024 20:30

Potholes, people kicking off to new builds and then on Saturday night an interesting late night post from a man asking who the woman who walked him home from the pub was, she isn’t happy in her current relationship and says he’s a very good kisser…. I turned on notifications because a few people were commenting and he was getting argumentative, planned on reading it after I’d got some sleep from feeding my new born but it had been deleted by morning lol.

  1. I've found this perfectly healthy cat who has been walking around and minding its own business and taken it to the vets.
Owner: I live 2 doors away and you've effectively stolen my cat

2.Sheep in field stuck/fallen over/limping. It's always the same damn farmer. Farmer seems to be quite popular and no-one seems to wonder why its always the same farmer who has animal issues.

3.Someone reports they have Ring footage of owner and dog- he's allowing dog to poo on someones lawn. Person threatens to post footage unless said person comes and picks up poo. Turns out is was the local council person.

4.So many lost dogs. So many. I live in a Forest and obviously, people like to walk dogs. Then get surprised when they chase a deer, rabbit, boar and don't come back. So, so, so many lost dog posts and requests for drone help.

I got a message off the local cat woman (every area has one)
"A woman just rang me to say there is a scruffy black cat sauntering across the zebra crossing and she was worried. I told her as soon as she said sauntering, that'll be Paw2024s cat"

Me Blush FFS cat stop using the zebra crossing!

Twinklewonderkins · 08/01/2024 20:33

Mine is a kindly but slightly mad lady who puts food out “for the foxes” (most recently a load of chicken wings and necks), watches it on her CCTV and screenshots local cats eating it, demanding to know who’s cat it is cos the food is FOR THE FOXES.
interspersed with a fundamentalist Christian lady posting prayers (not for the foxes/cats) and sometimes apocalyptic stuff.
it’s a very bizarre mix.

FuckOffTom · 08/01/2024 20:37

Love all these!

KimKardassion · 08/01/2024 20:39

On mine someone was ‘traumatised’ as a cat had broken into their house and ripped their curtains and their face up. My husband and I eye rolled and thought the poster was being dramatic but when they posted the pictures of the damage and the cat that did it we changed our minds.
To protect the identity of the victim and the cat I won’t show the actual pictures but I will say the cat looked like this but with ginger fur and bigger teeth dripping with blood

FastBlueHedgehog · 08/01/2024 20:39

Floods and footage of idiots driving through them, sheep escaping from a field due to the same rubbish farmer not fixing the fence and complaints about the rubbish doctors surgery and how all the new houses in the village mean we can't get an appointment.

Restinggoddess · 08/01/2024 20:42

Village bottle bin has not been emptied
People are leaving bags full of empty bottles next to the full bins
Clearly the village had a very good Xmas!

sgtmajormum · 08/01/2024 20:42

Currently a huge debacle going on about the parking outside the mosque for Friday prayers. The Iman has responded very sensibly yet they are still going on about why no tickets are ever issued for blocking pavements, parking on double yellows etc.
The fact that the same thing happens outside every school at 3pm everyday seems to have passed them by

maddiemookins16mum · 08/01/2024 20:43

Just checked ours and it’s the usual….

’does anyone no of any jobs going’
’looking for someone to mend my fence panels’
’anyone got any kittens for sale’

RenegadeMrs · 08/01/2024 20:44

A (actually extreamly inconvenient) road closure. It's been going on since November, so the hoo-haa had burnt out, but they opened it over Xmas and then closed it again Friday afternoon (and did no work over the weekend) so it's kicked off again.

purplecorkheart · 08/01/2024 20:44

My local pages are boring at the moment, there are five as the moderators of the first page had a fall out last year and all set up their own pages. One page is three weeks into talking about a dog who escaped from their owner while walking and was found after 15mins. There are regular/hourly posts as to whether the dog has been found. The owner who has replied multiple times saying their dog is home/safe and well is told no their dog is missing as it is on x board.

Other than that it is mainly about bin collections and lost parcels.

whattodo22222 · 08/01/2024 20:45

We have an anonymous poster who keeps taking photos of people's apparently bad parking (it's not)

OpalOrchid · 08/01/2024 20:45

Flooding here and a debate about whether it's the councils fault for not clearing the brook or peoples fault for hard landscaping their gardens.

RenoDakota · 08/01/2024 20:45

We have an arthouse cinema here. Big long rant tonight about if you don't like the new Studio Ghibli film then you are all peasants (think the exact term used was 'Netflix zombies').

More entertaining than the usual no bins along the canal / a sheep stuck in a field.

pictoosh · 08/01/2024 20:46

There's a big rant about the state of the leisure centre gym and men's toilets. Lots of very emotive language. He's threatening to not go back.

RosaMoline · 08/01/2024 20:48

@sgtmajormum - you live in the same town as me. When I saw the original post, there were quite a few Islamophobic comments. Maybe they’ve been deleted now (hopefully)

Whatafustercluck · 08/01/2024 20:48

A new one way system at the local shops has stirred up a hornet's nest of activism. More precisely, people driving the wrong way down the new system. I mean, people are incandescent about it, posting photos of cars driving/ parked the wrong way around. Must admit, on a quiet evening dh and I have been known to deliberately wind them up. It really gets them riled up, they start accusing us of being the culprits 😂
